How Motorsport Games Keeps Getting WORSE | NASCAR Game “Delayed” Until 2024
Спорт
The dumpster fire we know as Motorsport Games continues to disappoint NASCAR fans as once again we got bad news from the company. One of the biggest of these was reporting a net loss of $36 million in 2022 alone. Yet, time and time again they manage to skate by both on luck and seemingly getting money out of nowhere. So today we are going to look more into how Motorsport Games has not only continued to screw over NASCAR fans, but also IndyCar fans. How Motorsport Games keeps getting worse!!! I think Monster Games will gladly return to NASCAR as soon as NASCAR gets out of this hell hole of a contract. They've gotten so much better since Heat, it's insane, I think they can make a quality NASCAR game now with iRacing's help I mean, the World of Outlaws game has been the only motorsport game I've been actively playing on console since it came out last year, and I love it, amazing gameplay, real grassroots feel to it, hopefully they come back and we can give Monster a 3rd chance

Motorsport Games didn't make WoO, that was Monster who made the Heat games. When Motorsport Games got the nascar game contract, they bought the rights to the Heat games......hence why they were able to "update" Heat 5 with next Gen cars when they didn't make that game. So not only has Motorsport Games Fucked up their own game, they also Fucked up Heat 5 as well. When they managed to allow the Heat servers to go down, I finally switched to iRacing and I'm so fkn glad I did. Done w these clowns, but I do hope they get it right for everyone else.

It'll take something pretty darn magical like NASCAR Thunder 2003-2004 in order to get me to have hope in NASCAR console gaming again.....
Here’s an easy fix, stop buying it. Stop giving them money. Wait for reviews before you buy. Im still on Heat 4 because I refused to pay for a crap game again and Heat 5 reviews weren’t good enough to earn my money, so Ignition sure as hell didn’t get me to buy. Let them go bankrupt. Do not support them financially. They spit in your face and it’s up to you to decide if you’re going to wipe it away or swallow it.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the pre-order take, it's the single largest reason for the downfall of modern gaming imo, NASCAR or otherwise. Companies are enabled by pre-order culture, why finish the game by release when everyone has already bought it ahead of time? The day a large majority of us stop pre-ordering games full stop, I fully believe we'd begin to see gaming releases increase in quality.

Here’s the thing though as someone who analyzes sales generally around 5% to 15% percent of people pre order situation which isn’t enough to make profit. The real reason why game are being pushed out before their ready is simply because of patches a game at launch an a game months later can be very different experience launching a game doesn’t mean anything any. Before patches once a game was on disk or cartridge that’s it. Now it doesn’t matter.

I don't think NASCAR realizes how important their official video game is to their popularity. I originally got into NASCAR through the NASCAR Thunder games and there are many others like me. And I know a significant portion of the F1 fan base sticks around because the F1 games are so good. NASCAR really needs a good video game if they want a younger audience.

They aren’t going to get much better as every big racing developer has their own products they want to develop. F1 was smart to partner with codemasters when they did as the f1 games they make at just a fundamental to the studio’s identity as their own original titles. Unless their will to spend a lot of money to wiggle their way in to ea or Microsoft bubble this is the best they can do.
I'm gonna compare Motorsports Games to Rovio: Rovio removed "Rovio Classics: Angry Birds" from the app store since it performed better than their newer titles (which to me that decision is still complete bs), but their CEO and community managers are engaging with fans and the community on ways to bring back more beloved games from back in the day. Motorsports Games on the other hand has a shady owner with bills shoved up his ass engaging in Russian ponzi schemes. Dmitry Kozko is a criminal, and he deserves to be locked up for life not only for the crimes he's committed, but for also betraying NASCAR and their audience. It's like they secretly want the sport to not grow and fail.
At this point if EA got the license back and they made another NASCAR game, even if it was filled to the brim with micro transactions and loot boxes, it would be better than anything Motorsport games could crap out on their best days, especially considering they’d at least give us a game.

15 was really good driving wise. It glitched and didmt have much to it. But it raced good. The last fun high horsepower racing game imo.
Also don't listen to KZreadrs that get the game early because more than likely they're being paid to say good things about the game and to sell the game as better than what it is. RealRadman made a career out of it, and now is whining that his channel is gonna die because MSG fooled him so badly, even though he could have possibly helped stop this from getting this far if he was just honest
In my opinion the decrease in fans in younger fans is 1/3 broadcasts, 1/3 games, and 1/3 the amount of small hometown tracks that have closed down (which gets people into racing)
This is a failure and should be enough for NASCAR and INDY CAR to cut ties with thus company. It is so unacceptable and costing these series hundreds of millions of dollars. From team sponsors who would forever be on a video game for exposure, money lost for the series it huge.

I don't know why this wasn't the plan all along, iRacing was built from the ashes of Papyrus both in terms of staff as well as the source code coming straight from NR2003.
Hi from Norway, i started watching Nascar races recently (2007/2008) , but my understanding of how difficult pack racing really is ,i learned when i tested a nascar game a couple of years back. Got way more respect for the drivers tru gaming, and to the engineering behind set up car to different tracks in a way tv screens can not teach me, and as retired i enjoy gaming and Nascar as my two favorite hobbies. The future: no one really knows, until i got a copy of a new game, i consider it as a scam until proven wrong. I dont trust devs, they only care about their fat paychecks. Greed kill art as always.
This proves Nascar and INDY CAR don't care about their fans either. People are begging you to take their money just put a game out.
All I know is the reason Nascar hasn't pulled out yet is the current owner still has stocks in MSG for *some* ungodly reason
For now, I think we could do alot as a community to get iRacing to make a Cars Tour game. Maybe even ARCA
NASCAR Thunder 2003, it's the last year you get to experience racing back to the yellow flag. You actually have to drive through the wrecks. It was the last time on console that when a yellow flag it thrown you actually have to dodge the chaos and surive. It is such a great feeling to make the right moves and come through a huge crash and secure a good finish or win! I mean they even do a replay of the caution of you want to see what happened.

Just picked up Heat 5 the other day, that’ll do well for now. Would love for Thunder to come back with features like 2k
I’ve turned from a lifelong Nascar guy to a F1 guy. The games are better and it’s not close and even the racing is more intriguing. It’s shorter, better commentary and feels bigger. I still somewhat pay attention to nascar but in my age range of the 20’s a good video game can draw so many in and nascar has no clue how many people it can turn off. F1 21 turned me and I don’t see me turning back. Love the video though man
This mess isn't about Motorsport Games anymore, it's about Nascar. Nascar helped create this situation where a single developer could have a stranglehold on an entire fan base. The reason we aren't getting a new Nascar game for at least a few years is because of the exclusivity that Nascar hands out with their license. Nascar has been dead silent on anything regarding the video game side of the business, and don't seem aware of the negative effect having nothing but garbage for the past decade is having on their brand. It seems like they never even bothered to make sure they had some kind of "out clause" in their licensing deal. Clearly Motorsport Games has already proven that they are never going to deliver anything worth playing, so their silence pretty much shows you that they are stuck without any options except for a possible court battle. Motorsport Games is just the latest in a long line of developers who have failed to deliver a satisfactory game that represents Nascar, so Nascar should have been more careful in striking their deal with this latest developer.
I do not see NASCAR accepting no release in 2023 during their 75th anniversary
Giving a company that's never made a videogame a long term deal shows how stupid the Nascar Ownership is. Wait to see how the videogame is before you give that kind of deal.
I could see NASCAR getting money to iRacing for them to purchase motorsports games and do what iRacing has done with the world of outlaws.
I smell a lawsuit brewing. It'd be better than the current gaming product

I agree, it was a pretty good game, even on PS3. I drove the car out of the pits at Bristol and thought "Yep, feels like a stockcar". Had a blast all the way. The best thing about the Heat games was the dirt stuff. I have not touched Ignition to this day.
We just need to go back to Monster games plain and simple. They can put out games on time and good games simple.
I am a huge motorsports fan, I go to daytona and Sebring as much as I can. I respect the difficulty of driving at nearly 200mph sometimes over for hours on end, but for most people it's just boring. I don't see how a video game changes that, if people find it boring to watch, why would they spend $70 on a new game?
Of course, they lost money. They aren't putting out a product to sell and make a profit.
none of the bigger companies want to make a NASCAR game because they don't sell well at all and probably never will sell all that well. it takes A LOT of money and effort these days to make a game and there won't be any return on a NASCAR game, so this is what we get. a second rate company that will make the games for less with lesser quality.
Is it true that Brian France has stock in msg?
The forza add on was the last good nascar video game experience. The EA 07-09 games were the last great full console games.
Something like this is just so frustrating so fed up w nascar gaming
I still have my NASCAR 21 ignition shirt... Can't wait for it to become either a meme or ridiculously valuable
As someone who still actively league races on heat 5 I just hope they can keep the servers on.
Challenge Idea for future nascar game💡 : a challenge where u play ad Ricky Bobby and win the talladega race where u race, crash and ACTULLY GET OUT THE CAR and run and keep ur energy good and beat the green guy(I fucking forgot his name💀) and if u win u get both the ME and Bread flame paint scheme and also Nascar, Cars, Days of Thunder ect movie challenges to win old school paint schemes, also it'll be cool playing as Dale Earnhearth Sr and wining the daytona 500 and getting his paint scheme
I still don’t understand the nascar heat hate.
1999 CART Flag to Flag is the last decent "Indycar" game with road/street courses. And..... it's only on the Dreamcast. (Fun though).
I have a hot take. The best NASCAR experience since 07 was the NASCAR DLC for Forza Motorsport 6. With no 40 car feild (might have still been 43 at the time), no dynamic pit stops, and no cautions, it was still better than the Eutechnics (probably spelled wrong), HEAT, and Ignition games. Solid physics on a controller, serviceable on a wheel, great visuals, the paint booth and marketplace, and the ability to modify your car to get that 4th Gen high horse power. A fucking DLC for a console exclusive racer was better than the official games.
Thank you for putting this out. I feel like ever sense EA walked away nascar games been unplayable or unrealistic. If I had a quality game like iracing, I would leave iracing for that game. The cost iracing is just to high and more depressing when your getting wreaked all the time.

The F1 games aren’t all that great even before EA purchased Codemasters
Heat 5 was okay but my biggest gripe is no all star races and no duels for the 500

All we need is the new tracks and cars and we can mod heat 5 for years
Not to mention the missing 2022 NASCAR heat 5 dlc that was delayed and is now missing.
Ice, I would actually argue that this deal falls apart as soon as nascar finds someone who would be willing to take over the franchise. Mainly because there’s got to be something in the agreement that it has to be attracting some sort of revenue towards the sport… and with how inept Motorsports has been to this point, I’d be willing to bet that NASCAR has much better lawyers if need be.
For me, my rank of series I enjoy is 1: Le Mans/IMSA 2:F1 3:NASCAR #4 Indy, and I do love each one, and NASCAR is quickly rising back to where it use to be for me with the adding of more road courses.. The fact that Motorsports Games is DESTROYING the gaming side of 3 of my favorite things in the world pisses me off.
It seems like they are struggling financially, hopefully they just go bankrupt soon and save everyone the trouble of trying to buyout or otherwise get the contract back
Its not just indycar or nascar. Dont forget btcc and le mans. MSG are killing the industry. Its bad when people are calling for EA to step up
I haven’t played a NASCAR game since Heat 1, when it felt like a 20 year old reskinned game. NASCAR is screwed. They were told by a lot of fans who to go with, and they went with the obviously horrible developers…
