My neighbor has 20 chickens running around his yard. He is always giving eggs away. Taste and color are far better then the industrial eggs. A happy chicken makes a better egg.

I love how they try to suger coat how they are enclosed in a tight area with no room to move around. Just eat and lay eggs. A lot of them get sick and die and we eat these sick animals and eggs.

The machinery is truly amazing but the lack of respect for the life of the chickens is disgusting 😤

Wow, looking at eggs is so exciting

Poor chickens, that's why I only buy cage free.

This video shows chickens crammed in wire cages over stuffed with these poor chickens. Probably forced lighting to force the chickens to lay more eggs than is healthy and normal. It's painful and abusive. I know how to raise layer's. This is inhumane and should be illegal because it's certainly not moral

At our farm we don’t keep chickens in cages in the barn, but they do have racks they can sit on if they choose to they also have the ability to go outside of the barn at certain times and they know to come back they are fine with it because they come back to the barn when we enter to pick up dropped eggs and yes we also stack the eggs in those cartons credit to the guy who works those machines in the morning

Doh, I wish this was around when I was pushing a cart around rows and rows of cages collecting eggs. Poor chickens though, felt sorry for them in such a small area. Bit like keeping keeping animals inside your home, yeah they have a bit of room to run around but they are not free.

At least these chickens have feathers, ones I worked with had minimal feathers, looked like plucked chickens trying to move around. They used to peck each other all the time.

Thanks for this video and how eggs are automated and thus end up in the consumer / shoppers hands. I'm guessing most people don't know how much automation and how much technology expense is involved! Instead, they just expect prices at the counter to be pennies per dozen! At the same time, technology and A.I. are also beneficial to even to the egg supply today. But PEOPLE it seems are still needed to perform some tasks which I'm guessing can also be done by robots? I'm guessing because of unions or other legitimate grievances that can be held up in court right now? Basically, if a computer or assembly line thing can not only prepare an egg safely, for transport and such, but so cook and de-shell and egg, and seemingly all a person has to do is put them into a box or something, then we as people need to wake up!

So unless the packaging says double yolks it just means you got eggs all from the same flock of young chickens, young chickens often lay double yolk eggs. See the contented hen stamp on the inside of the carton? That means those eggs came from a small more private farms in one of two states, generally private farms will not use any form of radiation on their eggs or weed out double yolk eggs, they also don't have the means or space for machinery that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars & they don't have time to candle or flashlight every egg. They're already able to charge a bit more of a premium so charging a few pennies more isn't worth the time for weeding out double yolk eggs. So basically you got some really high quality eggs & scored some double yolks, nice 😊
