Martin Short is always, always the MOST entertaining guy on any talk show. Love his singing and when he gets all "I'm wonderful!" He surely is.

Toronto Maple Leafs fans would be delirious! But Toronto has a lot of recent immigrants (and others) who probably wouldn't care at all. At the same time, we went pretty crazy when the Blue Jays won twice way back and the Raptors (whose fans best reflect the composition of the city) won recently. But that's only 3 major winners in the past 55 years, so we're just starved of championships. Most would enjoy it and celebrate, even if they hate hockey lol...

Dave s Comedians will do this thing where if another comedian is performing, they'll instinctively join the performance and adopt the character as well. So they make little hand gestures or adjust their posture or even move their lips even if they don't know the words.

I enjoyed Marty's segment here and hearing his story about his first encounter with Frank Sinatra. But after hearing it, I can especially appreciate a prank that Don Rickles once pulled on Frank in a restaurant. I'll say per capita you're the best... and I'm Canadian! Still, there are often more players from just the Toronto area among the top scorers in the NHL than Sweden and Finland combined (but unlike you, our goalies are not so good). But many Canadians don't like hockey, especially younger people... The baby boomers are the truest fans; even my parents' (the greatest) generation weren't all that crazy about it..

No, Martin is not gay. Martin was married to actress Nancy Dolman in 1980...married 30 years until she died of cancer in 2010. I knew this for years I guess being an "older" fan of his work, younger ones like you could use that thing called google to learn more about people.

I suspect that Martin Short got just a glimpse of the Sinatra that most of his devoted fans wouldn't know about. I feel compelled to share a story I heard about Sinatra many years ago from a very reliable source. This is the way I heard it: A well-known art collector in LA was in a restaurant close to a table where Frank Sinatra sat with some of his mob type buddies, and those buddies were talking loudly in making anti-semitic comments. Finally, the art collector stepped to that table and said he was offended by their comments. Those guys then beat up on the art collector who was so seriously injured that he had permanent damage from it. Sinatra sat by and took no exception to his thug friends beating up on a guy. That story alone left me unable to ever listen to Sinata's singing without revulsion. Of course, I've always thought he was a grossly overrated lounge singer with a smooth voice but no real soul.

Also, Conan is very good friends with Short, so it is possible Conan had heard the story before in their personal lives. Either way, it is possible to have heard something before and still laugh the next time you hear it.

These guys are so funny but they have such a hard time concealing their leftism.
