How Many Ways Can We Split A Solid Body? | Split Complex Shapes with Solids and Surfaces

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video we are going to answer another question about splitting up complex shapes in Fusion 360. There are many ways to approach this problem and the geometry is usually a big driving factor in how you approach it. So we will take a look at a few common workflows and possibly some you may not have thought of.
The problem, creating a split in a body with a small gap in 2 directions. If you want to follow along you can download the dataset here: a360.co/3rywswD

sweet content! New subscriber. Old school 3d studio Max 2.0 user here. I love Fusion 360... in the sense, almost any model you make can be made from billet stock on a multi axis milling machine. : )

Awesome, thank you! Welcome aboard! I do a lot of CAM content just haven't done any on this channel yet. Maybe at some point I will.

@@vodkanarancs1 On the autodesk website. To get there you have to go through the certify portal www.autodesk.com/certification/overview But if you look for fusion content on there most of it I created.

Would you be able to do a video on how you'd approad thin grille/vent sections, something like the radiator air exits on the front clamshell of the Maserati MC12 Corsa? It seems like it would require adding a lot of geometry to the rest of the clamshell?

Hey Jordan, do you mean the thin sections that carry the hood line over the exits? or the actual mesh?

You could try emboss/deboss also but in my experience it's a bit buggy sometimes. I'm not sure why

Great point Dave! I don't like that tool very much so I agree. It is essentially extrude to/from object in the part in the video. On a part where you need a true "Wrap" it is helpful but I think that only works for cylindrical/conical parts. If Emboss/deboss worked and let you create the feature as a new body it might be more powerful :) Thanks for the comment!

@@LearnEverythingAboutDesign alot of the time it really doesn't wanna work for me, even with basic text wrapped round a cylinder. Autodesk need to do a bit of work on it I think. I thought I'd gotten to the level of pretty much knowing everything about fusion, but every time I watch your videos you show me something new🤙 best channel on KZread by far!
