Wile E. Coyote is primarily depicted as a BIPED, not a QUADRUPED, which would obviously lower the speed at which he runs. Additionally, this Roadrunner is closer in size and stature to a ratite, which are typically much faster than a regular roadrunner

17:23 what really makes me happy is that Road Runner is smiling for Wile E's photo. And throughout a lot of the shorts, Road Runner regularly checks on him when he experiences a comical injury (such as getting crushed by a boulder) even though he could just keep running. The coyote is literally trying to eat him and Road Runner still cares about and arguably sympathizes with him. What a guy.

Just like in "Soup or Sonic", where after a hilarious 2-way pipe chase, Roadrunner is normal size again, but Wile E. is still tiny. Then he holds up signs saying, "Okay, wise guys, you always wanted me to catch him. Now what do I do?". That's where that cartoon ends, but it DID satisfy my craving to see the coyote FINALLY catch the Roadrunner, once and for all. Not eat him of course, just plain catch the crafty bird

Here’s a fun little one! In the ‘Looney Tunes: Back in Action’ PS2 game, there are bonus levels where you play as Wille Coyote, and you have to catch the road runner. Upon capture, though, it turns out to be a monkey in disguise every time

If I wagered a guess, it probably dates back to Tezuka' anime (which is often seen as the 'genesis' of modern furry culture) having a very low budget, even compared to other productions of the time. I would assume that animating The Amazing Three would be easier then humans given their smaller statures and the like.

You know i always had a theory about how it's the "beep-beep" that the road runner makes that somehow causes the bad luck of the coyote and his own reality defying luck. The only times the coyote has actually been able to make any actual advancements were when the sound was not made and now i see that a "Rule #1" has somewhat confirmed my theory.

I'd say it depends on the track because roady is much more used to running in a straight line and the occasional wide turn. As for speedy, he is used to running in short bursts with a lot of sharp turns, thats my opinion though feel free to debate me on this stupid ass topic lol

This is a testament to how cartoons resonated with me as a kid. I'm an almost 30-year old man and I busted a gut when I heard Wile E. say "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Mud." They sure don't make 'em like they used to.

You can another technical one as in Space Jam 2 he almost eats the Road Runner *SPOILER* one of the villains slows time and in the process sets up the Road Runner to be eaten by the Coyote, but once he respeeds time the Road Runner books it

OMG I just realized that Will E coyote probably works for acme as in “Back in action” he is one of the villains they hire so maybe he was assigned to get the Road runner with ACME products to show how efficient they are.

This could also explain why Will E never catches the roadrunner. Think about it, out of all those times the ACME products came close to getting that bird, why didn’t Will E ever use a product again that was reworked and didn’t have the flaw like the clone o matic, just make it to make clone that are basically mind controlled and don’t turn on him. He testing the products and decide to test(torture) him nemesis and one of the fastest things in looney tunes

"solid tin coyote" is the only time the road runner actually looked FRIGHTENED.

I can't stop thinking about how much the Loonatics Unleashed episode of Tech-E meeting Rev's parents read like a mixed race couple dealing with racism from one set of parents. Captured his heart in that one LOL

In Space Jam, The coyote had its arms around the road runner because they were scared of something. I don’t think I can count that as catching.(The New One)

Ha, I've never seen that comic where he buys a gun before, I love that they gave him angry eye brows in panel where he reveals this, as if he's finally sick and tired of Wile's chasing him. I wonder if that was funny back then, like, it's funny to us nowadays, but would that have been seen as a joke back then or just a plot point? I mean, even without all that talk for and against gun control, it is funny to imagine The Road Runner buying a shotgun to use on Wile. Ya know, I'd like to know why they made the Road Runner speak in rhyme. Him talking I can get, because back then they thought kids were too stupid to understand what was going on without loads of talking, that's why Dumbo and Tom & Jerry and The Pink Panther always talked, but why in rhyme? What was it about the noise "Beep-Beep!!" that made them think rhyming was fitting for him? Strange choices were made.

Hands down the most I've laughed while editing a video of yours. The revelation that Road Runner was part of the Fast and the Furious franchise all along really surprised me but you learn something new every day

Isn't in Space Jam 2 the ONLY time Wile actually scored a win on RR? I remember going "wait, _what??"_ while watching.

Richard Williams the guy who drew Roger Rabbit for the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit played in a jazz band in his spare time. At my graduation in 1990 he was playing in a band that was invited by my college. I went up to him to say hi and he took an A4 piece of paper (this was in the UK) and drew Roger Rabbit in a graduation outfit and autographed it. This is one of my most prized possession. Seeing Road runner and Wiley in that movie brought back so many memories. RIP Richard Williams!

Edd this was brilliant!! These guys are hands down my favorite cartoon characters and you did a brilliant job researching and highlighting the coyote's 'catches'. I actually thought he only caught him twice but how wrong was I!! You just won a subscriber!

The answer is simple! They could no longer afford the ACME Razor Blades! They became Hair-suit characters! Which sort of grows on you. In fact, there are furry conventions you can pay to go to, although one should beware of scalpers because their shear arrogance can lead to some pretty close shaves! There are even some furries who will let you pick their locks and I'm not beating around the bush here!

Actually, the Greater Roadrunner is an *omnivore* (eats a bunch of things including meat), so I've always wondered when Beep Beep is going to *complain about being fed nothing but birdseed since 1949!* I'm not really sure if a Roadrunner would attempt to eat a coyote though (even if he's already "dead").

Ah yes, the Godfather of the coyote's family. Things aren't what they use to be, the Road Runners fear the Don and must do as needed or else the road they run on will be deadly.

In The new space jam movie, there are two captures. Once were the coyote grabs the road runner but then is knocked away, and again when another person catches the road runner for him and put him on a plate, which brings the total up to 21

Now that I think about it, Disney's mega popular Phineas & Ferb is practically an adaptation of Road Runner, with the main duo Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher having fun and messing up (little like the Road Runner), and Phineas' big sister Candace trying to bust them for their mother time and time again, without never really succeeding (just like Wile E. Coyote). And there's also Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz with his wacky "evil" inventions (a reflection to ACME corp.'s similarly wacky gizmos and gadgets), that play a major role in preventing Phineas and Ferb from getting busted.😉

Dog pukes up what Cat eats on several occasions too. It's just that Cat is more prone to "hairballs" and Dog is more prone to eating things he shouldn't(like garbage). Even in the intro, Dog pukes up a hairball due to Cat grooming himself(and eating his own fur by doing so). Their stomachs are connected to each other.

@@aneitalt I remember reading a CatDog comic from a special Hey Arnold! magazine where Dog eats a bone while Cat cleans himself. They experience a brief stomach ache before Dog coughs up Cat's hairball and Cat coughs up Dog's bone. Dog then stares hungrily at the hairball while Cat looks disgusted at the bone.

I just found this channel but I appreciate the hard hitting questions it continues to ask with the video titles.

Not really. The joke is that Wiley will buy some sort of contraption to capture the Roadrunner and it working fine when he initially tests it out, but then it immediately backfires when he actually goes to use it. That's the point of cartoon logic, the humor comes from the thing not going to plan.

Isn't one of the reasons for those contraptions failing is because the Roadrunner is the actual owner of ACME?

The use of the ChalkZone theme gave me a sense of nostalgic warmth. Nice to know that somebody else actually remembers that show.

Wait, I swear one time the road runner actually ran into the painted wall/tunnel and got caught. I remember this traumatized me as a child.

It's not about the chase, it's about winning. Remember sometimes Tom doesn't want eat Jerry, he just wants to win at whatever Jerry is up to

This might sound weird, but life gets so fucking heavy sometimes and it's great to have videos of an adult meticulously documenting every instance of Wile. E. Coyote catching Roadrunner. It's the best kind of escapism.

Did Eddache predict/start the "Dom Toretto says family a lot" meme, or did the meme start before this video was uploaded? I sincerely can't tel...

I think the show would be drastically improved if the coyote swore

In Finland we have this amusement park where you could watch the 3D Road Runner episodes but they had seats that move and blow air in your face and all that. It's kinda neat

The Roadrunner with a gun is uncomfortable for me to look at.

I love how on "Eddache's Video Ideas" list "Monkey Tennis?" is written down as a reference to Alan Partridge.

In my opinion, the issue with giving the Coyote a voice is that it sort of makes him the main character, instead of that role being split between the two. Which makes more and more episodes annoying as the main character fails time and time again. It would be a lot like making Tom the main character in the Tom & Jerry cartoons.

I think the idea is the audience iz supposed to sympathize / empathize with Wiley. Allowing him to speak allows us to grow closer to him, or pity him further.

Here's a little tidbit for you. Back in the mid-80s there was an arcade game called "Road Runner" and you played the titular character and try to avoid being caught by Wile E. Coyote. - which would be an eventuality or else the game wouldn't end. Depending on how it was set up, you could have 3 to 6 lives, but most games had it set at 3.

The deterioration of this franchise gives me the impression that at a certain point, writers and animators just didn't know what to do with it anymore. It's such a one-note, slapstick premise, that eventually nobody knew where to take it anymore. Resulting in Wile E and Roadrunner being relegated mostly to much smaller appearances, like ads and cameos, because then they could be used for quick physical humor gags without needing to have an entire cartoon episode written around that very same thing. Which they might've felt worked better.

There used to be an infinite runner Looney Tunes mobile game. A few levels had you playing as Roadrunner. If you fail the level, Wile E. jumps the roadrunner in a fight cloud and it's implied he's caught
