    I am naturally a competitive person, and of coarse I wanted to see Simone dominate at the Olympics, but Simone pulling out of the competition was the bravest and wisest thing she could have ever done, and even though I do not do gymnastics, she will always be my hero. She is an amazing human.

    I especially like her quote at the time: "I am worth more than gold." It was such a contrast to gymnasts of years past that were pushed to compete.

    I’m convinced she can fly. Even with this explanation the triple twisting flippity flip doesn’t make sense to my brain. 😂

    I feel like I remember Simone used to submit the weiler full on bars just in case she made a mistake on the weiler 1/2 during competition… but she never ended up performing it haha 😅 I wish she would’ve then she would have a bars skill.

    I’ve been following the sport for years and THIS type of informed commentary and technique breakdown is what I’ve been looking for! I did ballet, not gymnastics, so I’ve always wanted to hear informed DETAILED commentary that isn’t dumbed down - thank you! I’d also love to see some technique improvement videos, ie how a skill could be performed better to incur fewer deductions/generate more power/upgrade if it’s not too much to ask, but thank you so very much for your hard work ❤

    I could only imagine that the older she gets, and as the difficulty of her gymnastics increases, it has to be so much more scary to constantly do these twisting skills. Especially knowing, as an adult, what could happen if something goes terribly wrong! I get off balance, just trying to watch her! I can't imagine what it must have been like for her in Tokyo!

    She has actually did that that the older she gets sometimes she gets scared because she realizes she can get seriously hurt should anything go wrong while she's twisting.

    @vuksgitau that's what I would have thought, in regards to me and as I age. I was just theorizing on that with her. It makes total sense to me that it would creep into her psyche as she gets older. She has a husband and life now. She has more that she wants to hang onto and more to lose! I hate that she has that in the back of her mind while still doing it now, though. She is incredible with what she is able to accomplish with all that on her shoulders!

    Can you do a video explaining all the variants of shaposh type low to high bar transfers? Or maybe a pirouette one? Like difference between Healy and Endo in L grip? And do you watch old gymnastics? Like 80’s and 90’s? If so do you have a video of your fav gymnasts? Mine is svetlana bogus Kay’s and Oksana Omelianchik 😊 ALSO, maybe analyze Rebecca andrade’s cheng at the Pan An games and compare to maroney’s amanar in 2012? Those are the 2 best vaults i’ve ever seen execution wise!

    Didn’t the power that be decide to downgrade Simone’s amazing beam dismount? Family members and I have discussed we heard this extremely hard vault only performed by Simone was under valued in the code of points supposedly because the powers that be wanted to discourage other gymnasts from doing it due to the “high risk”? We understand that Simone & her Coaches disagreed with this decision and sadly we may never see her perform it again because it has not been given the points it deserves for its level of difficulty.Ridiculous if true and just makes no sense. First of all gymnasts who can’t won’t, secondly coaches worth any salt won’t allow their gymnasts who can’t to even attempt it, risking loss of job & reputation for serious gymnast injury of those who can’t. I also find it insulting to the creativity & world level all-around skill demonstrated by the greatest female gymnast, who is also selling the sport to the world because of her amazing skills, not to get fair value for this skill unmatched in difficulty.

  • @Ayybraiebraie

    I mean it’s true to an overall extent!! She has massive difficulty. But I’m confused how they used it as an insult!? Like was that suppose to be insulting to her lol🤣🤣 yes I do have difficulty in my passes, not my fault you don’t! And artistry can have subjectiveness to it. She has a different type of artistry to her, but she obviously does it enough for them to still score her well! Jealousy.

  • @cleogyrl

    @cleogyrl

    Simone wins because she executes extremely difficult skills _very well_ and is rewarded for _both_ her execution and risk-taking. People seem to think artistry = balletic in gymnastics and it doesn't. Simone meets the artistry requirements enough to consistently get some of the highest total execution scores in international competition. She would still be one of the top gymnasts if gymnastics was scored on execution alone, based on her historical execution scores. That isn't someone "winning only because of difficulty". Rodionenko is just bitter because Russia can't participate and her only way to stay relevant is to spew her trash once in a while. The nerve to talk all that trash when Russia brought us gymnasts like Maria Paseka, Lilia Akhaimova, Alexandra Shevchenko, etc.

    @@cleogyrlthank you! I wish more people would realize she has good difficulty AND execution. She may not be able to point her toes fully, but her body is always straight on her flips, she lands with her chest up, she she hits her splits on beam. Not very many gymnast can have the difficulty she be as clean on all 4 events.

    Genuinely curious what the people who comment this are getting out of it. No one who is an actual gymnastics fan thinks this, just people who clearly don't care about the sport and just want to put someone down. Sure it makes me roll my eyes, but more than anything it just makes me sad for the commenters, they must have such an unhappy life with that worldview.
