My 10 year savings of quarters in a 5 gallon jug went to Publix to see how many quarters in a 5 gallon jug. In the video you’ll see it was $2558.

I save my quarters in a big 5 gallon water jug. So it started because I’m not the greatest with money. If the money just sits in my bank account, I’ll swipe my debit card and spend it. If it’s in my savings account, I’ll act on impulse and transfer it to my checking account and swipe my debit card and spend it. So then I started saving cash in bills at home and hiding it in the closet. I found myself grabbing $10 here, $20 there and spending it. Quarters in a 5 gallon jug is the only thing I’ve found where I can put it there and leave it there and not spend it because it would be a hassle to spend it and I don’t want the hassle. It sucks, but that’s the way I do it. It works for me. I’m extreme with it too. Like I’ll be at the grocery store and get like $10 cash back and then go next door to the bank and buy a roll of quarters from them, take the roll home and break it open and put all the loose quarters in the jug because I’m afraid of grabbing the roll and spending it.

Time to hit the showers. $2,500…the smart thing to do is buy a 1 oz American Gold Eagle (at spot price, the deals are available), and maybe another 1/4 oz AGE with the remainder. Now you’d be securing the future value (purchasing power) of that $2,500, and be able to carry it in your pocket, instead of a shopping cart.

Most centennial dont have any value other than face value. (Unless there in MS grade). They should have looked if any of those quarters were pre 1965 quarters since those have silver and are worth more than face value
I’m starting mine today!

in my experience dimes are great to save because they take up so little space.
In 1971 a senior gentleman came into the bank I worked for on three SEPARATE occasions within a year and cashed in $6,000 worth of change each time. 6K in 1971 money is equivalent to 40K in 2020 money

I have one with gold dollars one with quarters and one for dimes and nickels then the last for pennies
It would have been $2834.00 if you had them all rolled and given to the teller, but since using the coinstar, there was a percentage taken from you.
Me: wow this would make a good hobby to do since is getting close to new year's ima do it one more step to being rich... Also me: realizeing how long a year is...... 😬

Who the hell stores money in a 5 gallon water jug? You should already know you can't pour them out easily. User a 5 gallon bucket from Lowe's or Home Depot.

I can’t believe that. I agree 100% the only problem with that is it’s much easier to grab it. And what we call a hassle to take the quarters out will be spent every day to go to the store and buy……. lol. it was a serious pain in the ass and super heavy. I’m very slow coming out of the 5 gallon water jug, but it was good for savings.

Look at these other people tripping over themselves
Time to hit the showers. $2,500…the smart thing to do is buy a 1 oz American Gold Eagle (at spot price, the deals are available), and maybe another 1/4 oz AGE with the remainder. Now you’d be securing the future value (purchasing power) of that $2,500, and be able to carry it in your pocket, instead of a shopping cart.
