5:22 you can dive in sm64. 7:03 you can use Player 2, and use quirks with the geometry to reach the terrace where you can do EVERY star except for the boss without jumping. 9:25 I think this is possible with multiplayer since you can bounce on each others heads to get a power up that lets you gain height in midair. The whole game should be possible. (Same with Mario Wii) 10:19 once again, multiplayer should make a lot of this game possible, probably the entirety of it. 11:33 this game actually has an in game jump counter, and I don’t think this jump actually counts even though it IS actually a jump 13:18 multiplayer. I think you need to get someone to play with for these challenges haha

Super Mario Bros. Grandma Edition "You need to jump over the Goomba" "How do you jump?"

You can point out that at the end of Super Mario Odyssey you can review your stats and one of those is Number of Jumps. Technically speaking the game can be beaten while having that number at 0. The game doesn't detect as Jumps towards that stat the following: First Jump to wake up, cappy jumps, jumping with almost every capture, hoping out of a tree or poles, and few other specifics to each world. Weirdly, talking to NPCs count as a Jump unless you talk to them in first person mode.

I like how sm64ds is the thumbnail but the game itself isnt even covered

Nico, it's actually possible to beat Mario Odyssey without jumping. I saw another KZreadr finishing the game with the jump counter at 0. I challenge you to take it further by collecting 500 moons without jumping and then beat dark side and darker side jumpless.

Try them all again but with Multiplayer, you’ll find that you can get a lot farther with being able to pick people up and throw them, and then hopping in a bubble to travel

Nico: we can’t start Mario odyssey without jumping. Gamechamp: dude it’s a unique animation and you need coop to beat the game fully and act like it’s COVID with social distancing for the non cutscene trigger characters aka characters who are just npcs you can speak to.

Hi, I'm an Italian, I wanted to tell you that in sm64 there is a way to enter the painting without making a jump. You will have to have a little luck to do it but it is doable. The way is as follows: you have to take a dive and as soon as you touch the ground click the jump button to get up quickly, if you do it at the right time you will be able to enter the painting. If for you diving is equivalent to jumping this method you won't need it.

Spoilers: Y'know, I'm actually surprised. I was expecting a lot of failures to bottomless pits, but there were none! So, that's something, maybe?

10:24 Odyssey can be beaten without jumping. This "jump from knockout" and the "jump from knockout" in the Lost Kingdom doesn't count as a jump according to the game. Only the "jump from knockout" before the "Escape as Bowser" sequence counts as a normal jump, but you have to enter that moment in 2-player to launch Mario out of that state to move again. Also, any Cappy Capture Transformation "Jump" is also not a jump according to Toadette in the game. 0 Jumps is possible.

Beating Super Mario 3D World without jumping is technically possible if you use multiplayer and some glitches

Honestly, I wanna do a video now to revisit some games that MIGHT have some potential that Nico didn't do

it feels like he wasn't even trying: -New SMB Wii, New SMB U and 3D World have two player, where you can pick up one another, carry, throw and respawn from a bubble -Mario 64 has a dive move, you can bounce off the ground to get into the painting -Mario Wonder has co-op, it allows one of the players to turn into a ghost and respawn with height

Fun fact the “jump” at the start of SMO Doesn’t actually count towards the games in game jump counter so technically it’s not a jump

For Mario Wii, New mario, New Mario 2 and Mario U, you can slide under the goombas when they hop to the music. And in the Mario Wii, you can use multiplayer to bounce off of. Also, In SMO, the jump doesn’t count as a jump

Super Mario 64 is different in that jumping is defined by the a button. Diving and recovering from a dive with the b button does not count as a jump. But getting the star might stop you.

Both Odesy and 3d world are fully beatable with jumping using multiplayer.

Also some “jumps” like the first two times you have to jump to wake up Mario from being unconscious have a unique animation and trigger a cutscene the third and final time Mario just does a regular jump also you can skip the cappy getting kidnapped part in lost kingdom by just doing some very careful jumps.

You can actually beat Super Mario 3D World without jumping; you just need to utilize the multiplayer mode. For basic jumps, you spawn a second player and make him/her throw the first player where they need to go and then make the second player bubble to the first player. You'll also need the Cat Suit for most of the run for climbing and scratching. You'll also need to use the touch screen for some parts of the run to interact with other things. AND PLEASE BEWARE of Fuzzy Time Mine. You can also technically beat Super Mario Odyssey without jumping because the jump at the beginning doesn't count in the official jump counter as well as jumps performed while using captures. So if you use Cappy bounces, skip moons, and cheat the two-player mode, AND if you bounce off Cappy and talk to Toadette (who has the jump counter) while performing a ground pound in the air in the little frames where you can talk to her, you can TECHNICALLY beat the game with ZERO jumps Just take my word and don't do these challenges

Actually you are able to beat Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World without jumping Also you should make a shirt with every 1-1 first goomba with the text “Gets me everytime”

Well, to be fair, 3D World could easily be completed jumpless with the 4 player function and the bubbles~ And Mario Odyssey has an in-game jump counter. And, fun fact: Jumping whist having captured something, say, a frog, doesn't count as a jump! The game's rules, not mine~ ;))

"Can't get into the first painting in SM64" Absolutely untrue. Diving and flipping out of a dive isn't jumping, but it _does_ grant some height. It's already been proven that you CAN beat that game without jumping... but I'm unsure if it needs glitches. I don't _think_ it does, since the total number of A presses needed for a 100% run is about a dozen (and that includes A presses that don't jump, like when you hold the button to enable slope kicks).

Well known fact....in Odyssey if you press jump at the beginning of the game it doesn't count towards your jump counter as this game keeps track of how many times you have jumped. You can actually beat this game without jumping by using cappy.

Dive rollout in Mario 64 to enter BBB. Basically just the A button challenge. Beating SM64 without jumping is a massive rabbit hole

Odyssey doesn't actually count the first jump as an actual jump. So it is possible to beat the game jumpless. I have done it myself and it wasn't even to bad

In super Mario bros 2 USA I did a TAS to see how far you can go without jumping and I reached the semisolid after that pow block. I also did that in Real-time but it's still impossible :(. Super Mario world was beaten by a TAS (it's hard to do in real time) in 5 jumps! Super Mario 64 (enter in painting by doing dive-recover ez real-time) was beaten by humans in ~70 jumps and a TASer called Pannenkoek2012/UncommentatedPannen beated it TAS 120 stars in 13 A presses (jumps). On the Wii it was beated Any% in 0 A presses hurray! You can beat NSMBWII really easy without jumping but you need 2P: Pick up your friend and make him bounce on the Roomba then he will bounce on your head and activate the "? Block" so the propeller will come out and it's over. Instead of jumping shake the controller to fly easy peasy lemon squeasy! For SMM2 I think that Luigi's parts could help you a bit more... I must check. I must check NSMBU right now.

For Sunshine, you apparently didn't run around on the title screen long enough: as glitch-hunter Grégoire P. discovered, running into the options side and immediately back out lets you start a game without jumping into any of the blocks! It only works if the memory card is out though, which means the Switch version is still stuck, but on any GameCube version, you can get pretty far without jumping, and if you allow wallkicks (which don't count as jumps in Odyssey) you can even get all 120 Shines!

You actually could get in the pipe in mario galaxy, you just had to spin next to the plants and let them hit you so you get launched on the pipe

With the New Super Mario Bros series, the jump the goombas do can actually be slid under with proper timing. Adeal's TASes did an entire jumpless series, where 4 players and a lot of deaths and waiting were able to make it all the way to 1-Tower the normal way before getting softlocked, only due to a lack of mini mushrooms and couldn't use the cannon because of a restriction on using bubbling. If they didn't have that restriction, they would have made it all the way to 8-airship before getting softlocked there due to a restriction on ALL Wiimote shaking, including the screw portion to open it. Without that restriction which was needed three times, they would have made it then all the way to the end credits. It was ONLY one instance of needing to bubble in 1-Cannon and three instances of needing to use screws in 8-Airship.

Pretty sure I've seen speedrunners sliding into portraits in Super mario 64. You get a slight bounce into the air when you enter the slide animation. It doesn't use the jump button so this doesn't count as a jump. You run, crouch and while you still have momentum press attack button to perform the slide. Bob-omb battlefield should be very doable once you're in.
