3:20: The positions of the "five coins" are not actually on the position of the coins in the middle, meaning it's possible to get the star, but I think you'd need to use BLJ and parallel universes to do it.

welp... im gonna go on a rant now. Pannenkoek already made a video where he got the five secrets without touching a coin and without the wing cap. So its still possible. However the method that you mentioned would be impossible as there would be no way to blj or even gain speed that high into the level. The only plausible way would to be to blj on the tiny hill by the bridge next to the chain chomp with tas levels of precision and then use the excess speed to scale the mountain that way until you get to the top where you can possibly use the speed to jump from the mountain to the island where you would inevitably lose the speed because you would end up either grabbing the tree or ground pounding just to stay on it. Even if we somehow manage to keep the momentum and attempt to grab the five coins it would still be impossible without the wing cap or the cannon. We cant carry speed into the cannon or keep said speed with the wing cap either due to the fact that in a state of super speed mario's jumps will be affected by the amount of speed he has. Which would cause him to do tiny hops or a negative jump depending on how much speed he has at the time not allowing him to leave the ground. It also doesn't help that the wing cap also wouldn't even make it high enough to reach the 5th secret without the help of the cannon anyway. Either way I try to spin it this is all assuming you dont lose speed once you get to the island without falling off which would happe anyway as even with a miracle you'd take fall damage, ground pound, or grab the tree making the attempt to use blj momentum completely useless. But there's an explanation for you. Regardless if "the rules" says you can or can't its possible. Just not in the way you mentioned TwuoFom. Edit: Even if we carried all the speed with us it would be impossible to do a triple jump on the mountain since its too small. Something else I missed is that we could attempt to load star 1 again with the cannons open this time and try to talk to king bob-omb to transfer the backwards momentum into forward momentum instead of moving backwards the whole time but even then it doesn't help as mario still constantly loses speed as well as facing the same problem of needing to keep it once we get onto the island. We cant use the tree to keep it as that would only really work if we latched onto it from a sliding state from my knowledge. Even then if we jump off we'd lose all speed since it would be natural forward momentum reverting it back to mario's speed cap. Sliding off the tree either would result in mario coming to a complete stop or falling off the island again aswell.

Yup same here!

You can do Snowman Lost His Head without collecting coins in Super Mario 64, but you cannot select it and load up its scenario unless you completed the red coin star, which in a coinless challenge, you can't do…

i can understand why you wouldnt count mario 64 ds or mario 3d land, but not 3d world?

Probably for the same reason 3D Land doesn’t count. All the games shown here are more exploration-based without time limits, while 3D Land and 3D World had more of a “get to the end of the level” type gameplay with time limits (similar to the 2D games, but you get a Z axis in addition to X and Y).

I think for this compilation, he means the 'exploration-based' games. Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World play more like traditional Mario games.

Bubble Freeze Galaxy is actually possible. There’s this glitch where you backflip on this invisible part on the rocks and you just long jump to the Star after that. There’s a video that shows it off. Here it is: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eoR6xtB-nafTe7g.html. So yeah, it’s possible.

Dude you can skip the 2d area in the sand kingdom with some perfect jumps on the tiny platforms

So you "dont" use glitches but the final battle requires a glitch (on mario 64)

In bolbome Battlefield to get the last star you need to use a bomb and glitch inside the cage
