    Hello! First of all, I would like to thank you for all this information! You made everything so much easier to understand. I'm looking forward to see a top with most required medical specialities in Germany, and why not, with those harder to get into. I'm especially interested in dermatology, gastroenterology and psychiatry. Keep going! You're doing a great job!

    Hello! I feel like I stumbled upon a gold mine, your content is great! Thank you for taking the time to do it and for sharing your knowledge! Do you know anything about the shifts or schedule in the Radiology department? I'm currently enrolled in the Radiology residency from my home country, but I'm wondering if foreigners would have a chance at a Radiology residency in Germany? My German level is only at B1, so I'm not sure if I should keep improving my German skills, or just focus on my radiology training in my home country. Hope you find the time to reply, and if not, hopefully my comment helps with the youtube algorithm! :D

    Hi there! Radiology unlike internal medicine or general surgery is not quite at the bottom of the piramid and therefore there are less open positions in comparison. Also the very small hospitals may have a radiology department but no residency program. Being a foreigner only puts you at disadvantage when there are more doctors than open positions, so some research on the radiology sand needs to be made. About shift hours I have no idea to be honest. I know for sure their nightshifts are much better that anyone else's but I guess that's radiology everywhere. Anyway best of luck in the future!

    5 Days per week as a ground schedule. On top of that there might be nightshifts. Ground specialties such as internal diseases, surgeries, anesthesia, etc contain always nightshifts: The hospital wont close on sundays either :D Some specialties like pathology or dermatology are probably more forgiving when it comes to weekends and migh have no nightshifts at all.

    Hi doctor, thank you for the info. I am a medical officer working in Brunei in Internal medicine and Endocrine department. I got a job offer from a reputed university hospital in Berlin via recruitment agency. To my surprise they said my duty is M-F and weekends off. I looked online about the hospital and realised that it got a huge IP facility. So I was wondering how can my offer be a weekday job without night duty. Can something like that happen? Since it's a recruitment agency, not sure what's going on

  • @EutopianDoctor

    @EutopianDoctor

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not all positions are 100% with nightshifts. It might be the case that the position you fill reuires no nightshifts. Anyway, since its a recruitment agency you can ask them to show you a contract and check by yourself. If that didnt work you could contact the hospital by yourself. Best of luck!

    How much money hospital pay for extra hours and night shift?

  • @EutopianDoctor

    @EutopianDoctor

    3 жыл бұрын

    It depends on your payment level (assistenzarzt or facharzt), the policy of the hospital for paying duties and the day of the week you do the duty (saturday > tuesday). The range for an Assistezarzt is between 100-200 euros per duty approximatelly. Again, it depends on a lot of factors.

    What is the difference between working in a private hospital and a regional one? Is it harder to get in? And how much do 4 duties a month add to a salary? Thanks! Sub!

  • @EutopianDoctor

    @EutopianDoctor

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello there! Both big city and regional hospitals can be private. The main different between the big ones and the regional ones is competitiveness. In a big hospital there are more resources, and they get complicated cases that other hospitals can't treat. As a result, many doctors compete to get there and make it more difficult to get in. When it comes to duties, it really depends on the payment level you are and whether you made the duty on weekends or normal days. Last month I did 5 duties ( 3 of them on Saturday) and I got about 600-700 euros extra

    I always feared it too. But it is not that bad: once you can do your job reasonably well those nurses won't be able to take advantage of you and you are more respected. Also the job becomes less stressful because you know what you have to do. Sleeping however, is always a problem
