On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Maybe even try it with a FAC (I remember back in my youth, silly talk of the Viper doing FAC work). Maybe grab the other stooge and light up a treeline!

I mean, it's already scary enough with 90-100 mile range AIM-120Ds and data-link guided missiles that mean an F-35 or F-22 can spot for it. A single flight of EXs with 96 AMRAAMs could - theoretically - severely cripple, or straight up wipe out, almost any given country's standing air force without ever entering radar lock range themselves.

@@Error-33 Many countries have 500+ aircraft total - including transports, helicopters, trainers, etc, - but only a handful have more than 200+ fighters, and many have around a hundred or less. So, yes, 4 F-15EXs couldn't technically wipe out an ENTIRE airforce in a single sortie, but they could - again, theoretically -down 50 - 99% of most nations' air to air threat capability, which, for all intents and purposes, means crippling or eliminating an entire airforce. I don't mean to give a literal scenario of what could happen, I just mean to put the EX's mind boggling capabilities into context.

@@yujinhikita5611 As far as I know, it was proposed to have 24 or 26 AMRAAMs carried externally on converted hardpoints, as well as bombs carried both internally and externally on remaining unconverted hardpoints. So 24 was a conservative proposal. I imagine though, if you wanted to get crazy, it wouldn't have been too difficult to engineer an internal missile drop/launch system, especially since the B1s still have the mounting points for the rotary launch mechanism for the nukes they were meant to carry initially. At that point, you're only limited by volume on how many AIM-120s you can carry, since the missile only weighs ~350 lbs and the B1 can carry 75,000 lbs internally.

From theF-15's victory roll at the end, looked like 6 missiles still left on the rails, so 10 launched for 1 hit . Looks like the normal outfit of 8 AMRAAMS would not be enough for 1 kill against an experienced & capable pilot.

The EX is primarily a replacement for the 15C ANG units. It’s not slated for use in offensive operations, unless it’s one where air superiority has already been attained. Compared to the F-35A, it’s cheaper per flight hour and requires significantly less maintenance. The 35A is wasted as a defensive platform. The high AMRAAM requirement serves the defensive role well, as any large scale aggressive action will see many enemy aircraft attacking at once. Once the new long range AA missile program is complete, the Eagle II will serve an even greater role in defensive operations. Carrying more missiles further degrades its stealth effectiveness, and it’s not designed to have much in that regard. The primary issue with the ANG units is that they are past due for retirement, with many at the end or even past their suitable EOL.

Would love to see a modernized f111 as a dedicated missile truck. Pair it up with modernized f5s for the airforce on a budget. Love to see how it plays out.

Picture this: A Modern F-4J Phantom Missile Truck. The Phantom lacked a gun so it would be fitting as a missile truck. The WSO deploys the missiles. Also the F-4J is still one the fastest platforms out there. It could be on station in a heart beat leaving the dogfighting to the F-15s or F-22s. The Navy could also use the F-4J Missle Truck on their platforms for the F/A-18, F-35C, Growler or Marine Corps F/A-18C or Harriers.

About using planes other than fighters as missile trucks for AMRAAMs... it wasn't C-130s. It was the B-1B that was being looked at. Think about it: a supersonic capable heavy bomber carrying a couple hundred of those missiles being guided in via datalink/F-22s plus the weapons the Raptors are carrying themselves.
