Everybody is missing the fact that even though he had 8 less points than Kobe, he had 76%, 4 more rebounds, 5 more assists, 13 fewer shots and one more made 3 with the same amount of 3 point attempts. It might top Kobe’s 81 to some people.

This is exactly why the NBA raitings are going down hill smh. Kobe scored 81 and had to guard on the opposite side of the ball. Luka was giving up azz on the defensive end, and the defense is nowhere near as intense as it was. I don't understand how y'all can sit there with straight faces and find this brand of basketball entertaining. Even Larry Bird as slow as he was played excellent defense hell he averaged more blocks per game then Lebron James. I don't think a lot of yall have the slightest clue what you're watching which is why you're so impressed by it smh

When Kobe scored 81, it was a career achievement to score 50 points. A 60 point performance happened once every 2-3 years. 70 points were deemed impossible to reach. Now we had two 70 point and two 60 point performances in a week. And you're trying to tell me that this is more impressive than Kobe's 81? If something happens twice a week it can't be that impressive.

Scoring is meaningless at this point in the NBA. Averaging 25+ meant something. Now that's barely borderline all-star numbers. Players are more skilled and offenses more high power, pace is insane. But a lot of these games feel like an all-star game. where the first 120 points are don't mean anything.

@antonquirgst2812 i count 20. 10 years ago, there were 5. There are 50 over 20ppg. My point is scoring isn't really a measurable metric anymore because it's fairly easy to get 20+. 25+ was achieved by superstars. There aren't 20 superstars in the NBA. We've had 4 60+ point games in a week, and 2 of them came with Ls. Scoring is meaningless.

Bad defense is the reason the bucks fired their coach despite a good record. At the current state of the game though I think well have to lve with the fact that even with good defense scoring numbers will still be higher than what they used to be.

@@kennethhanes5702Wrong- stop parroting JJ Reddick. This is by far the most traveling, carrying, moving screen heavy era ever. The gather step was added officially, so now players end up getting away with 4 steps too often. The refs now let players carry the ball by the definition of the rule, because they simply don’t call that rule. The refs allow moving screens akin to an offensive lineman blocking, and initiating contact as the offensive player used to be considered a charge every time, but now it’s almost always considered a defensive foul. You’re allowed one step after the catch before you have to dribble, now it’s two because of the gather step, but refs constantly allow 3-4 steps after the catch. Rules changes mean nothing- it’s about how the game is called.

no, that was 3 step including the gather. by todays rules that was 100% legal, and probably would have been legal 20 years ago too. they just were big steps. unless you're counting his feet touching the ground with the ball still in his hands, but the league doesn't call up and downs when there is anything resembling a shooting foul on the play. Luka is much better with "traveling" then most NBA stars because of his international experience which is very tight on traveling. If you want to see what a real travel looks like just was LBJ. dude travels on like 40% of his drives to the hoop. heck, he recently had a 7-9 step masterpeice on a post up move (depending on when you think the gather step happened). where he picked the ball up around the mid post, backed the dude down with two rabbit hops (both feet leaving the ground) changed his pivot foot 3 times, and then walked 3 steps to get the post layup. not a single travel called. Had to have been the most egregious travel i've seen uncalled in years.
