I don't recommend it nescerrily. He still needs to monitor his kcals, of course. However, you can start to lose a lot of muscle if you just keep on losing.

You're approach to dieting is perfect, you don't need to tank your intake or cut anything out, just change overall quantity and quality. Have bad habits, eat something unhealthy and tasty, have a cheat meal, have a sugary drink or a few alcoholic drinks. The key is to make these things rare rather than common

Hey Brently my name is Josh. I just started my weight loss journey again last week. I am already down 6 pounds. Originally before I started losing anything I was 420lbs at my heaviest. I was miserable. I then lost 40 pounds going down to 380. I then fluctuated up and down to where I was sitting steadily at 395. I started this second part of the journey at 385lbs and I am now 379lbs. Calorie deficit is the most important factor in my weight loss. I go to the gym 5 days a week Monday-Friday at 5am. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I go to the gym twice a day. It helps with my energy output and keeps my mental health better. Thank you for the inspiration to get back into the habit of working my tail off!!!

Man... I've seen you all over shorts and finally decided to come check it out here and you give me such a healthy dose of reality and positivity about my weight loss. I started at 260 and I'm going for 180. Your positivity is absolutely infectious. You've made so much progress, it's really inspirational. You seem genuinely happy about where you are in your weight loss journey and where you're going and I think I need some of that. My weight loss is like... purely motivated by self hatred and I feel like that can't be healthy for progress because I simply lose faith in myself and stop believing in myself. Did you ever struggle with this? What did you try to overcome it if so? I am subscribed now to watch your journey! You got this man. My mom ran a marathon and she was like 50, can't wait to see you cross the finish line.

I haven't personally had any issues with a restrictive diet. I'm doing keto, down to 297 from 342 a year ago. In that year, I've taken nine cheat days- Thanksgiving, Christmas, a six-day vacation, and a celebration of one year on keto. In those days, I was able to eat and drink anything I was craving (craft beer, pizza, Indian food), but to be honest, my cravings haven't been severe. Whenever I take a cheat day again, not that I currently have one in the plans, I want to have sushi. I miss it, but I have no problem waiting to have it. I think two things have helped: my love for meat and cheese, and keto substitutes. There's keto bread, keto sweets, protein bars, zero sugar sodas, and low carb beer that all ensure that I don't feel like I'm really missing out on much. Also, the fact that I already feel like a completely new person makes me very excited for when I get down to 250 or 220, and that excitement is far stronger than any cravings.

I went through this journey and a lot of what he said is very true. I was 365, now 212 all in a little over a year. I don't know what program he's using, but I did mine through Weight Watchers and what I liked about it was that you weren't exempt from eating anything. So what he said about not cutting anything out really resonated with me. Keep doing well Brently! You're doing great!

1:30 idk, to me I found it useful to just don't buy my favorite cookies or chips, but like 3rd or 4th favorite, so I won't just devour them all in one sitting. Of course we right now only talk about 10months since I last ate them, but so far I succeeded at not only buying them but also picking the different sweets when in social gathering with those on display, so I think it works for me

I’m not sure how you developed your wisdom, but I will say you seem to understand yourself and the human condition fairly well. Not just inspiring, I think you are sharing some profound insights that can be utilized in the entirety of someone life, not just weight loss. Congrats and good luck on your journey Side Note: I’m a pretty avid climber. Some places have motorized winched in the ceiling to provide support/safety to new climbers who are climbing with ropes. Besides that, any normal belay person can provide a weight offset by leaning back or squaring down slightly. This can help alleviate enough weight to make climbing feasible for that person!!

The second question is a testament to just how little people understand about weight loss even when it's literally the simplest thing to understand. Mulligainz explains it best. Listening to flogs who say you must not eat X/Y/Z isn't the way to go. I'm down 15kg (gained a bit over the holidays, was down 20) and my eating habits have remained almost the same prior to this journey. The only difference I've made is I count my calories. I remain in a deficit as much as I can. VERY few days do I eat over my allowed calories. Some days I eat little during the day and can have even more of what I love to eat at night. Or whatever. The point is that calories matter, foods do not. Stick to a general macro goal per day, try to meet it, don't worry if you go over or under. Just worry about the calories. If you're in a deficit, you're losing fat. It's quite literally this simple.

I have had a similar experience. I have been told by most of my friends that my diet is actually pretty healthy, but even I couldn’t fathom some of the things I’ve seen fitness influencers try to push. Weight loss always seemed unachievable to me when I was younger because everyone made it so complicated and it makes you doubt yourself. I’ve seen fitness influencers say “don’t do this exercise” “don’t eat this” etc. and all of it is wrong. The best way to lose weight is to approach it as what works for you and you have to remind yourself that as long as you stay consistent it is guaranteed to work.

I recommend club training. 5lbs club in each hand as a start, swing them like youre attacking with a weapon. (Just dont use em as one 😊) You can add footwork to make it an all over thing. Do club training when standard dumbbells get boring... and it can get boring.

I’m at 8:53 right now listening to your weight measurement issues. Do you happen to know the accuracy of your scale? Most scales will have a +/- percentage rate for accuracy. For people of larger stature, a 1% wiggle can translate to weight readings of 3 pounds over or under your actual weight combined with normal daily fluctuations in weight through sweating/bathroom usage etc. just something to consider(: I love your content man, you are an inspiration to me. I have the opposite problem, I am at 157 and have to eat a lot of gain any weight but eating any of the wrong thing can set me back days because of my intestinal issues. Love seeing people apply discipline to their issues and getting results, keep it up! Can’t wait to see more stuff(:

This is a golden rule. It’s important to get all the waste removed from your body and weigh in when you first wake up because it’ll provide the most accurate weight. It’s also necessary to not put so much emphasis on what the scale says. Water weight and food that has yet to be fully digested will make it appear as if you’re not losing or even gaining weight when it’s not really true. One last thing I heard that many recommend is taking the average of every day’s weight for a week and comparing that week to week to see what’s really going on.

Very good video. I just wanna say at 130 I can also lose a pound in an hour. I have 3 theory’s. When 2 or more are in effect they can DEFINITELY make you lose a pound at least. 1. You weigh yourself then take a poop or pee or both. Granted not every dump is a pound, but even like close to that weight plus all the sweating involved in some of the crazier dumps can probably make it happen. 2. You weigh yourself on a non-digital scale. On my scale if I lean forward on to my toes the dial goes down a few lbs. so I always make sure to weigh myself on the ball of my feet. Mostly cause I want to feel like I’m actually gaining weight. Since my goals are to bulk. 3. Because you are heavy doing simple tasks like walking or picking up up laundry is going to make you burn some kind of calories. For some one small it’s not a significant amount since I don’t have much weight to go against, but when you do those smaller tasks it IS harder and burns more calories. P.s. my buddy is gonna flip knowing you watch One Piece. Mfer has been waiting for me in Wano.

You can't weigh yourself constantly through out the day it's gonna drive you nuts lol I don't recommend. Body fluctuates a lot so you gotta give yourself time to hit that new weight. I always weigh myself every weekend preferably Sunday sometimes Monday. I allow myself a cheat snack or food once a day but I don't let myself over indulge if that makes sense.

I always weigh myself in the morning, that’s when I seem to be my lightest. You should weigh yourself once a day. If you weigh yourself after every meal you’ll go mad because you yah you gained weight you just ate, food weigh ounces.

You have a very interesting choice for the background music. I love it. But it is so loud that I can hardly understand what you are saying.
