@@ParkerTheBasshead That's awesome of the company to do that, but in all fairness, they just got some awesome advertisement when it took 6500 watts to rip apart the smallest possible sub they can make. The coil was fine! You literally ejected the coils out of the gap! Lol

@@ParkerTheBasshead is that a 6th order? And was were the tuning frequencies since in a 6th order you have 2 frequencies over a ported or a 4th order being able to tune to 1 frequency I'm guessing the tube port was prolly low mid 40s and the large opening low 50s And was the 145 sealed in kick or door open in kick?

I'm thinking of doing 6 8" subs like that in my 03 Lexus is300 in a horn style where the opening will be towards front and the subs will be in 2 rows of 3 on top part of opening that will be shaped like >and the rest of the box will be squared off with a port at the very bottom. I'm also building an explorer with 6 Resilient Sounds platinum 15s or 18s depends what kind of enclosure I end up going with because it's only a 2 door so limited on space especially after a 6 battery bank and capacitor bank 1 battery for each taramp 3000 and 6-8 cap bank for each also.

6th orders gives wider bandwidth and more cone control; within the tuning frequencies. Good job bro!

6th orders in my opinion don’t give more cone control they are open on both ends for tuning. If you want come control a 4th is a much safer route

@@tidobass6048 the sealed chamber of a 4th order bandpass promotes more power handling. However, be mindful that at tuned frequencies, sealed chambers lose cone control. It's the opposite for ported chambers.

I have a question fellow bassheads, hopefully one of you can answer. So i just got two 10s and the factory recommendations for the enclosure is either ported or sealed and gives the optimum volume for the enclosure . Is that volume double if you have 2 speakers? Im trying to build a box to save money and kill time, learn. A lot more scientific than putting speakers in coffe cans lol
Would you recommend these subs over sundown audio?
i am running two Ground Zero 6.5 subs in the back at 500 rms each and two DS18 Elite Z 6.5 subs in the doors at 300 rms each, they are crazy. got many others hooked up but those are my 6.5's

What is the exact model SPL meter you have Parker? I've been looking for one.
Bro can you compare bandpass box frequency with ported box frequency
I would advise making a terminal on the box with all coils attached. That way you can wire to whatever without taking the box apart and in turn make a permanent seal that will also help with dB

Where could we get that box from? I’ve done personal builds from 8s, 12 and 15s. Now I want to do a build with the 6.5 subs!
I have two 6.5 inch subs that have pretty good excursion but the surround that comes from the factory limits them really badly.
That speaker in the door of the truck that has the letter P on it what brand is that? I have an 8 inch woofer that looks like that in my garage and I’ve always wondered what it is.

I know. I should have elaborated more. Each pair could be tuned an octave away from each other. Or even in 5 hz increments. Starting at 35 hz then go up but not above 55. So the over all roll off is spread out more for more bandwidth. Does my idea sound good or am I lost lol

That sounds like a good match as long as you set your amp gain and deck are set properly. Don’t “wing it” and ruin your equipment. Take it to a pro and have them set everything properly and let you know how far you can turn it up without clipping.
