To be fair Ruiner Nergigante is the easyest Elder Dragon in the whole series, even normal Nergi is harder.

For those interested, here is the math: Rarity 12 Decorations can only drop from Sealed Feystones. The chance for a Sealed Feystone to contain a rarity 12 Decoration is 8% (7.998% to be precise). The chance for a purple Investigation reward to be a Sealed Feystone is 80%. (for tier 3 Monsters) This means that an Investigation with 5 purple rewards has an expected value of 4 Sealed Feystones and with that an expected value of 0.32 Rarity 12 Decorations, meaning it (on average) a bit more than 3 of these to get an unspecified Rarity Decoration. An Investigation with 4 purple rewards has an expected value of 3.2 Sealed Feystones and with that an expected value of 0.256 Rarity 12 Decorations, meaning it (on average) a bit less than 4 of these to get an unspecified Rarity Decoration. Investigations with 3 or less purple rewards are never worth it, as there are Event quests that always drop 3 Sealed Feystones and have a very small chance for some more. (in fact so many more, that in these Quests you can theoretically gain 7 Sealed Feystones in one Reward, but this has a chance of below 0.1%). The Chance for not getting a Rarity 12 Decoration in the first 10 Quests was ~5.82%. The Chance for Giddys event (not getting a Rarity 12 Decoration in the first 10 Quests but then getting one in the 11th Quest) was ~1.35%. In Conclusion: always(!) do Investigations with 5 purple rewards on tier 3 when hunting Rarity 12 Decorations. stay safe

Addendum and correction: In the afore mentioned Eventquest you can get up to 24 Sealed Feystones but this will never happen. HOWEVER using a lucky Voucher for one of these Quests raises the expected value of Sealed Streamstones to 3.77, making it still worse than investigations with 5 purple rewards but a good bit better than investigations with 4 purple rewards.

You also gotta keep in mind the time to complete. The tempered elder dragons event quests are usually faster to compete and load into as they are area quests as well as sos always being available ensuring 4 player hunts. So depending on your individual time discrepancy it might be much better to do the event quest over the 5 box tier 3 investigations :)

@@robinbruce7838 ​ It depends on a couple of things: If you have a lucky voucher if fully agree, the event quests are the best for farming. If you dont it depends on your build and on how well you can utilize the area. As far as i can tell, the monsters in the event quests are not noticably different from normal investigation tempered elders, meaning that using roaming ballista and dragonrazor with heavy artillery 2 will generally make this quest easier than a normal investigation. HOWEVER: the difference in expected values if you don use a lucky voucher isn't nothing, its almost an entire Sealed Feystone per Quest. That means you would have to run the quest 4 times for the same(ish) outcome of 3 runs of an investigation. Firing SoS introduces a lot of randomness into the runs duration and success rate, i would (if you really want to farm efficiently) do it solo or only with a regular group. Also take into account that every Quest reset takes some time (eating, steamworkds, short breaks, refilling items, posting quest). Also the amount of time you have makes a difference. If you only came online for one hunt, do the investigation. If you came online for a 5 hour hunting session, the difference is not that obvious. In the end it comes down to preference. With a good endgame build i would say that investigations are a good bit better, but then again you usually farm these to GET an endgame build, so the cannons etc. in the event quest can offset the shortcomings of your build (just remember to pack in heavy artillery)

@@moumdoh No, Charms aren't as important for builds as Decos are and getting a Charm with good lots isn't hard to get.

Your videos are quite entertaining. I’ve been enjoying them. Also, I’m preparing for several hours of pain and suffering(Decoration grinding) being compacted into a few minutes of joy. Keep it up.

Event quest: Day of Ruin. It takes like 10 minutes, you get minimum 3 sealed feystones which are highest rarity decos. Also, it says it in the event quest description, that it drops sealed feystones.

So funny story. I’ve only recently gotten into Monster Hunter. And after 300+ hours, I finally get the last attack 4 jewel for my builds. What makes it funny is that the quest I get it from was Alatreon Blazing Twilight. Literally the only gem I got from soloing him.

Speed Eating would've saved me as well. The mushroom eating animation was just a little bit too slow. But I do think Stun Resistance is better than Speed Eating when it comes to Mushroomancer combos :)

if you're looking to get rarity 12 decos do the event quest DAY OF RUIN. its easy takes 10 mins and you get 3-6 sealed feystones

There's 3 Event quests that give ALOT of high tier Deco: tempered teostra, lunastra and kushala daora in the velkhana arena ! Those missions , with the right party or solo setup tend to only take 5-10 minutes per try. That will give you atleast 40-60 Deco per hour.

I have like 900 hours in the game and I have a lot of lv12 decos! There is an event quest where you hunt a tempered furious Rajang and after you do it you get celestial melding tickets which have the highest chance of droping lv12 decos

I found it was better to farm the Tempered Kushala Daora Event quest. If you look into how to "head lock" him, clearing a quest can take about 2-4 minutes with HBG or GS. I managed to get 4 Attack Boost 4 decos, 2 Expert 4 decos, 3 Crit Boost/divine blessing (I think?) and only 1 Challenger 4 in around 180+ kills! Good luck to people still playing! Nice to see YT still recommends new MHW content lol

I think technically tempered kushala is most efficient because you can permadown him with spread hbg but most people run “day of ruin” taostra, which I believe is overall the most efficient. Plus always people farming it so ez sos for chill mp farming

Not sure how rare it is to happen but the blacksmith straight up gave me a rarity 12 critical eye jewel. Still don’t know what for to this day I think it was something everyone gets I just happen to get an ultra rare jewel lol

We REALLY need to get you your Fatalis headgear for full Stun Resist. Grinding with being able to be stunned is not fun. Also when you get enough decos and Elder Spiritvein bones you should try melding like loads of Sealed Feystones to see how many Rarity 12s you can get from them.

trust me, Fatalis gear is a life saver. Me and a friend have grinded for those evil eyes (very painful btw), but afterwards we handle monsters A LOT better now with that stun resistance.

Wow, i haven't done investigations since base World. The tempered elder event quets give much better odds for rare 12s and you never need to worry about losing the quest to a failed hunt. Kind of a shame that the IB event quest killed the need to do investigations.

Btw you might remember that I was having some difficulties with Alatreon. I did bunch of safi runs with randoms (man i love this community, ngl.) and got the full set. I killed alatreon with ease in like 6-7 hunts. My physical damage (or damage in general was not enough, he was about to die ;_;. He did killed me with escaton once. But I prevailed. Next stop is solo fatalis, like alatreon solo.

It doesn't really take very long to get a rarity 12 gem, now expert gem snd attack gem 😬 took me 1300 hrs to get 1 expert and 2 attack.

rarity 12 aren’t THAT rare... It’s getting a SPECIFIC one, like attack+, agi+ or handi+ that can take hundreds of hours of farming. There’s a guy in here with 3500hours that still hasn’t seen 1 handi+, and another that got an attack+ in only 30 teostra runs

Nah, rarity 12s are all the same, they're just very rare haha. But they're also the best ones. Attack+4 and Agitator +4 for example

You can actually get quite a lot of super rare base World decos from the steamworks. If you do the farewell to zinogre event quest you can get a buttload of coal and the silver tickets will give you lots of rare 7 and 8 decorations. I have more attack decorations than I could even use at once
