How Long Did It Take Ymir To Build All The Colossal Titans?

Фильм және анимация

In this video I am going to calculate how much time did it take Ymir to build all the colossal Titans in the walls. To calculate all this, we first need to find the volume of the Titans and for that, we need the mass and the density of the Titans. The mass of the Titans in general is very Tricky to find as the series does not give much details on said topic, and predictions on the Internet vary a lot, so I'm gonna do my own calculations.

    8 packs are more so due to the genetics of how your connective tissue separates the ab muscles into a 6 or 8 pack. We can see this in bodybuilders who, even though are really muscular and shredded, only have a 6 packs instead of 8 packs. I don't think Eren got an 8 pack from his training and titan shifter regeneration because bodybuilders, jacked up on PEDs, don't have 8 packs.

    Now I'm curious of an even more unfeasible calculation: how long would it have taken Ymir to build Eren's new Founding Titan form? I feel like a way it could be calculated, at least the mass/volume of the Founding Titan, would be to utilize a Blender 3D model since people have made those in the past. I have no experience messing around with Blender or other programs, but I'd bet there's some way to use 3D models to figure the volume of the bony Eldritch horror

    Given that when Eren's titan transformed, we saw that weird spine-like thing coming out from his head, the same thing that touched Ymir when she became the founder, I think it can be assumed that Ymir didn't build either of those titans. Like, imagine if Ymir had to go into the paths every time she wanted to transform, so she could spend years building herself a titan. She'd be so mentally taxed after every transformation. Plus going into the paths to rebuild every piece that's damaged every time someone harms her titan. Seems like a shitload of mental labor. So I'm assuming that whenever that spine-y thing appears and a titan is created, it wasn't ymir. That would also explain why both her first titan and eren's founding titan looked so freaky

    @@unorthodoxpickle7014 possibly, but then again that assumes that Ymir herself was able to go back in time inside the paths, so it assumes that she can (from the paths) create titans in the past and possibly future. We know that time behaves differently in the paths, but from all we know, the attack titan is the only titan that can go back to and influence the past. Do we know if the founding titan holds those powers as well? Idk, it's up to debate. Edit: but I'd assume that because the titan powers weren't originally Ymir's, but rather came from that weird thing inside the tree, maybe it can also create titans just like Ymir.

That being said, I like the idea that Ymir only build the titan form, and leave it as such without having rebuilding it every time it is damaged, I think the origin of life does that job for her. With the exception of Zeke for being from the royal bloodline, she was able to regenerate him because she was still a slave to the family.

Them even being able to move and land with the odm gear puts them about the strengh of the best professional weightlifters. Pro strongwomen regularly have to yoke close to 300kg for 20m in about 20s. Reiner isn‘t a pro strongman and he doesn’t have any access to steroids. So I‘d say 220kg is a more reasonable estimation. Also the titans are only light upon death. If the titans were actually as light as tree bark, the beast titan’s foot steps wouldn’t be as loud as they are, the armoured titan wouldn’t be able to crash through the walls and the colossal titans wouldn’t leave imprints on the ground. But when plugging in the numbers, your 100kg estimation actually checks in. 3m/1,85m=1,62 The Titan is 1,62x taller than Reiner (1,62^3*95)*0,24=97kg

  • @eloquit9489

    @eloquit9489

    there were 2 reasons why i assumed the 3 meter titan to be 100 kgs, first because Reiner was able to lift and climb up the stairs with the titan on his back and the second because the titans might not be as light as tree bark but they aren't as heavy as a human of titans proportion else there movements would be very sluggish. Also i cant remember where i heard it but titan are much stronger then they physically should be able to. for example the first time eren plugged the wall using a bolder, it should not have been possible even for a human that was 15 meter tall and much heavier then eren's attack titan

    Considering that all titans in the walls may have shifted at the same time, and using the Warhammer Titan transformation as reference, which takes 12s in realtime, each second in real life would take 300.000 years inside the paths. So, if Ymir waited 2000 years, outside the paths, she actually waited way more, like... 1.892.160.000.000.000.000.000 years. And this number is more than 135 BILLION times the age of the universe itself.

    @@jordankellogs7203 Actually it's the opposite. Dividing a mass by a small density should result in a severe overestimation of volume. Hmm...though a healthy human male has a waist circumference roughly 1/2 their height...so it would have a 30m waist, divided by 2 pi to get 4.8 m radius. So maybe the number was reasonable. I'm just not imagining things right and it actually is about 10 meters wide, 6 meters thick.

    This is pretty much the conclusion I have come to. I think it only seems long to Zeke and Eren because they are still bound to mortal bodies where as Ymir exists solely within this other realm. Think about how when you fall asleep, you do not experience the actual time you are sleeping. From your brain's perspective you are back awake almost instantly even after 8 hours. Time is just a concept. BTW, if I'm wrong about any of this it's because I'm anime only so no manga spoilers please.

    It's still fun to think about. It takes Bertholt about a second to materialize the colossal. If we also account for the wall material encasing each titan, let's say that 1 second in our world is 12 years in coordinate land. If we assume the calculations in the video are accurate, at that rate it would take 3.5 days for the walls to form from our perspective. That's crazier than the hyperbolic time chamber in DBZ where 1 year in there is a day outside. In Ymir's world 0.83 seconds to us is a year to her.
