    In the Bugatti VS Koenigsegg playground debates of the internet, Bugatti is always seen as the "bad guy", because it's a company born from Europe's biggest car manufacturer and its entire existence is seen as a show of pure excess of monetary wealth. But I think from time to time the people who made the Veyron and chiron should be commended for their effort as well, they used an entirely foreign engine design and built a machine so utterly excessively luxurious and powerful in its design and function that it's absurd.

  • @JanBanJoovi-ol1qv

    @JanBanJoovi-ol1qv

    3 ай бұрын

    Car & Driver measured 220 mph at 7,500 redline, but they have observed the car is still accelerating upon reaching 7,500 supposedly redline. 240 mph is when the rev limiter was increased from 7,500 rpm to 8,300 rpm. Even at 220 mph, being a naturally aspirated car, that’s a humungous feat. Even today with naturally aspirated cars having tons of horsepower, they still struggle to exceed 220 mph. Likewise, raising the redline from 7,500 rpm to 8,300 rpm is not a massive modification. If I’m not mistaken, there’s no increase in horsepower. They just corrected the gearing as indeed they haved noticed earlier that even though the redline was set to 7,500, the car is still accelerating upon reaching the 7,500 redline. 240 mph was measured in VW proving ground on a two-way average. No naturally aspirated production supercar today even close to reaching 240 mph. The likes of Bugattis and Koenigs need to use force induction to dethrone the F1 as fastest production car.

    The insane thing about Koenigsegg cars, is that it not only beat the land speed record, but it could also theoretically make good laps in tracks because of that power to weight ratio, compared to buggatti's fatter car.

    Great video!!! Dont forget the Gemera with 2300hp HV8 option, and even that the Jesko is the fastest revving car in history. Also to be an official top speed world record, companies need to use an homologated car non tuned (like bugatti with the 300+) and do 2 ways top speed trips to get an average. Just give time to the Jesko Absolut to smash
