I must disagree. I've been in the market for a camper, and have been POURING over everything available. This product is the first one that makes total sense to me, and I'll be putting down a deposit on the 8' version, AND the trailer version. From esthetics, functionality and philosophy, this is a no brainer.

Love to see awesome US companies that are proud to make a good product and keep that product working for the customer for a long time. I’m so tired of our “throw away” single use sort of way of doing things and it’s super refreshing to see companies take that to heart as well.

I really appreciate his philosophy of development. Taking the time to perfect a craft/product before moving on instills trust. And at the same time, staying creative and forward-thinking for the longevity and growth of the business.

I always like how humble Mark is .

I really hope a Kimbo trailer is released soon with an indoor shower.

Yep, you can upgrade a shower module. I could care less about a shower. Give me a toilet lol.

Mark, offer a “Kimbo Kit” where it can be shipped as a package that the owner can assemble…. or maybe have a couple endorsed dealers where you can ship the kits out to them and they assemble and sell at their showrooms. I’m sure these ideas have been covered already though.

…something like that would be perfect for someone like myself that wants a Kimbo but doesn’t want to drive from Virginia to pick it up and drive back. I need to stay close to the east coast.

Truly smart people have great ideas, executes them and above all are able to explain it without needing to use big words.

Companys have taken away the consumer's ability to repair and maintain what they own. So I love that Kimbo is actively trying to protect that right for the customer. With a Cadillac and bmw I owned and could have repaired myself and saved some money was built to ensure I would not have access to the technology and programing to do that. Companys make knock off versions and ways around it as a business witch is reducless. Kimbo is reminding the customer they should own what they acually own. 👌

Why not use lithium iron phosphate in the power system, instead of lead acid? Is the outer shell clear coated or does it need periodic treatment? What sits between the bottom of the Kimbo and the steel bed of a truck to mitigate galvanic corrosion? Is the Kimbo door insulated?

I'm invested in Trayvax, and for very good reason. He is dead serious about quality. Been following him for a while. Thanks for this. (Love that they fit in a Tacoma!)

When you start taking deposits for a full size truck version, I'm in! I know you talked about 8' size but you might consider if overland style folks might be more likely to have a full size short bed. I'd trade in mine to get a long bed if I need to though. Love the simplicity!!!

These overhead campers are so badass!! I've watched tons of youtube on this camper, seen them in the woods!!! So lightweight, incredible design, even comes with a mini wood stove if your into it, wish I could have one made would be perfect for my F150, cool video 👍🌲🌲🇺🇸🇺🇸 American made too.👍

I have a friend that tested the cybertruck who's the friend of Jay Leno's he said it would definitely cut down on the range but since it has an air suspension that's adjustable it would make it a lot better and comfortable ride plus if the module had extra solar panels or if you put a generator in it you could charge your truck as well

i’m a retired Canadian paramedic living with PTSD-i live in a Toyota 4Runner because it’s a 4x4 and i’m not a van or minivan fan… i’ve been looking for a truck living space that i can stand up in-most important; feel safe to explore the wild spaces of Canada & the United States knowing my home on wheels wouldn’t fall apart in the back country-this young man is a quiet and humble innovator… Once i save some $$$, i’m heading south to purchase this amazing home on wheels-thanks for the great video!

You have no idea how long I was searching for an air conditioning unit for the camper . . Until 11:21 min in i look up at my phone and see it right there ! I thought it didn't come with one lol I cant wait till i can get a kimbo !!

Really digging this camper. Well done on a great looking functional product. But seriously Mark King, if you know people that can assemble IKEA furniture, you should probably hire them. Hell you can probably just ship them all the parts and they can assemble it themselves because IKEA I think literally gets a kick out of people trying to put their stuff together. P.S. as a retired submariner this makes me feel right at home. Kudos on a job well done.

Looking forward to future kimbo products. Interested in the 8ft version and would love a camper that fits the Tesla Cybertruck Mark, if you see this, I'm a guaranteed customer for a cybertruck kimbo. I've been waiting ages for an electric RV and I'd bet I'm not the only one. I'll even come help you prototype it. Don't worry too much about range... it'll still be reasonable if you have the 500mile cybertruck. (It'll be like 250-300miles with the camper instead of 500, but that's where the cars are at today.) Add a ton of solar and it can help feed the vehicle too. Then you can go camp off grid for 2 weeks and head out some extra range.

He is definitely passionate about making a product not just making money.

I have to get one...I'm in love with this thing.

The kimbos are nice I would get if I would travel outdoors and off road but I love the design and the whole thing really and i love the vids keep up the good work

Great video!!! I think sticking to ONE or TWO models is an excellent idea. Much easier to control and maintain quality control. While I think that Kimbos are one of not THE best campers out there, sadly my budget is geared towards a rooftop tent on my Subaru lol Seriously I think Mark truly wants to build the best camper/trailer that he can and wants it to stand the test of time.

This is a great product. It's a updated Airstream. Look's great and any company that does a walk though is good with me.

I hear a lot recently about young people being pro Socialism and anti Capitalism. Yet, when watching your interview it is clear that following your dreams to create can bring both joy and financial success to the creator. Can you imagine government employees coming up with the idea for this amazing camper and having the fortitude to put in all the time and effort to bring it to life? These Kimbos are an amazing inspiring story and thank you for sharing.

Man I wish there was a DIY kit that could ship flat via freight, would be a awesome project. 2nd question has anyone put theses in a 2nd gen Honda Ridgeline

You would want a pop top for the cyber truck. Kimbo would destroy the range

It would be very cool if a company like this made it so you could buy an empty van and modules pre built to install into the van to make it a camper.

Do you corrugate the exterior aluminum skin on site? What thickness are the skins? Do you use jigs for alignment of the exterior skins?

Hoping they come out with the Kimbo 6.5 that fit better on half ton full size like my Tundra !

This was my concept too. Started watching purely to get design ideas for my own build. But these are done so well, I think I'll buy the base model, and then build out the interior to my own specs.

This reminds me of an Lunar lander. I would make the interior feel more spacy, change out the shape of the front windows to mimic the lander. just an Idea!

Love his mindset of quality first.. rarely do we see this today. Most of it is making it as cheap as possible..

Looks like he's utilizing JIT inventory controls. Just enough parts are ordered in time to complete processes rather than holding on to inventory that takes up space. That would require a larger factory the eats up cost for space not being utilized for production.

Am I right in assuming that you can lift the camper off the bed and camp in it without the necessity of it being on the truck? IE: I want to take my truck offroading but leave the camper on-site and come back to sleep in it later without needing to put it back on the truck?

Hopefully they can push that 8ft timeframe. This guy is building a company that could be a household name in the market. Be a shame to see it get squandered by big business.

That Kimbo is awesome, when I get a truck of my own, I'll be hard pressed to find something better for it
