I had them ALL! Who wanted Barbie when you had the Best of the West! I wish I still had them.... because I had EVERYTHING.... all the figures, horses and play sets, and I never lost any accessories because I was a careful kid! Makes me sad, that it all got sold at a yard sale..... but makes me happy I can see them again, on channels like this! THANK YOU!!!!

I had johny west and chief Cherokee and loved them ! At one time we lived by a small creek in idaho , I made sort of " flatboat " and spent hours crashing them in the "rapids " thank goodness it all floated . Also my mom had saved her old babies doll carriage to pass to her daughters some day but it made a great stage coach , which quickly got destroyed by crashing " the stage coach " on a big hump in our side walk in front on the house . The faster you hit it the better the wreck ! Baby carriage got trashed pretty fast but the wheels and axes went on the backboard I made .

Over the years i tried to describe or see if men mu age remembered these toys. Finally I found evidence of them. I forgot the name Johnny West so it was hard to make a search.

I had a couple of these. Cheif Cherokee and fighting Eagle, both presents from my Mum back in the late 1960's. I lost them down the years, but recently I've had a hankering and so have been purchasing them again on eBay and my god I forgot at how well made they were. Real quality items imo, and the facial sculpt were superb. Recommended!

I had about 6 figures, two horses, and the buckboard wagon. Even though many of the ones in existence now have broken arms and legs when they were new they lasted for years. I never broke and arm or leg and my friends never broke theirs either. Plastic must have deteriorated over time.

My dad had a couple of these loose that he found at a flea market, he had a huge set of them when he was a kid so he was stoked to find these and they sat up on one of his bookshelves with a bunch of books about the old west for years. I actually just donated them to the Texas Toy Museum a couple years ago because I just don't have the space to keep them, but they were very cool.

In the video is a 1966 Johnny west / box. The box from 1965 said action cowboy/ the change it to movable cowboy 1966/ . The 1965-1966 figures didn’t have rivets in the arm. All figures made after 1966 has rivets. I have all cowboys, soldiers , bad guy and horses, wagons. I don’t have buffalo or sheriff Garret. I also have 50th anniversary Johnny west 2015 . 50th anniversary sam cobra .

I don’t know if you know this or not . When hasbro came with GI Joe In 1964 . Marx came out with Stony Smith but this figure could only bend his arms no knee joints. And in 1965 Marx came out with a new version of stony smith with bending arms , knees . By they it was to late . So Marx took stony Smith head/face and put it on a cowboy body and johnny west was born . Marx did pretty well with Johnny west series then also more accessories with the figure. So you didn’t have to buy it separate. You can start playing right away. I hope you found this interesting. If not let me know and I’ll stop.
