I agree. I expected it to be kinda boring, just knocking something off with a fan. But that level of complexity makes it so fun. I feel most old Japanese folk games(let's call it that) are like that, more depth than you would think.

I first learned about tosenkyo through Japanese hard rock band BAND-MAID. When they became BAND-MAIKO for a couple of videos, there's a short scene where the instrumentalists are sitting in a line watching the singer throw a fan. She throws quite stoically, and then other four politely applaud her.

As always, you have inspired me to try and get better so I can fulfill my dream of coming to Nippon. Every time I watch one of your videos, it makes my soul long to visit that much more. 🥰 I too have chronic, incurable conditions and diseases that were genetically passed down. Because of them, my dream of coming to Nippon for my honeymoon never happened. But, recently I have had quite a few surgeries to help ease my pain and symptoms, so I still have hope to some day be able to live that dream. Thank you for inspiring me, and know that your videos are used for more than just entertainment and learning. They also inspire, encourage, and uplift an overburdened soul. So, thank you to the entire Shogo crew, you really fill my heart with joy every time I watch. ❤️

Slight nitpick - I would’ve worded it “How Japanese Gambled *with* Throwing Fans” vs *by* Throwing Fans. The way you worded it makes it seem like it’s dangerous to throw a fan - like doing so leaves you open to attack or something. Otherwise, great video and very informative as always!
