Great video the production quality is top notch! I consider myself a fan of both Dilla and Daft Punk, but I was unware of this collabo or even of the swiss beat sample. Great Stuff your videos and remixes are Dope, Great Work!!

Much love Angel! Thanks for the kind words. This video is making me realise that there's a lot of us - fans of both Dilla AND Daft Punk 🍩🤖
The fact they weren’t credited but Thomas and Busy P still had the ears to pick that sample up after it had been slowed down as much as it had been speaks to their ear, in my opinion.

Yeah! A lot of ppl would have missed that. Busy P didn’t recognize it at first he said.
Dawg. This is an incredible video. As a long time Daft Punk fan let me just say I did not know about J Dilla influence. Awesome stuff man.

Thanks for the kind words Freg! I love stories in which musical worlds collide. This one is special to me because I’ve been a huge fan of both and to find out that their paths crossed was like 🤯
Wow this story is freaking amazing. What a gem. Never realized the J Dilla and Daft Punk connection. Also another awesome remix to close things out. We need to hear the full version

Thanks for the encouragement! Glad the series is finding its way to real music heads like yourself.
I'm just trippin' that Shoes is in a story on KZread. For those that don't know, House Shoes was the resident DJ on the main floor in Saint Andrews Hall, which was the club that Eminem was performing in during the basement club scenes in 8 Mile. It was always hilarious when he played something that was corny and pop, then he ripped it off of the turntables, broke the record, then threw on the rawest Hip Hop he could find. Man, when Drew's was all hoodies, Timbs and fatigues.

Shoes is a living legend…especially for his contributions to Detroit hip hop.

as far as i know that project never saw the light of day, right? i think the closest thing to techno that he officially put out is "BBE" on "welcome to detroit". would love to hear more of his detroit techno beats!
