    around 12:00 mark it really starts to take shape. i find your method is the best way, beats the putty method and this allows for vents and such as the real thing. very nice looking finished product. i do the same thing only in 64th scale.. i'm going blind so I'm thinking of migrating up to 1/18 scale. thanks for the info on the hotwheel diescast.. i forgot they made this scale. i just hate spending 100 for a diecast then like you another 200hrs of time. you can't sell for what it's worth so it's truly for the love of the hobby. awesome work mate!

    Absolutely amazing! Which is the name/type of material of the lamins? and, how did you rescale the original photo to the 1:18 scale (redimension to a perfect size that fits well to the diecast)? You do that seems easy 😂😂

    Thanks Jon, my eyesight at 51 years old is not so good anymore either, but I do use a large magnifier for all the small detail construction and painting.

    this thing is really symmetrical.. great job on making everything match.. the hardest part. i'd love to see this thing with a cool set of LED lights/projection HID or whatever.. it'd only take another 25 hrs..lol. had to post again cause this thing is dope. so where did you end up placing with this car in the contest?

    Thanks Micheal, I haven't delved into the world of LED lights yet, something I would like to try in the future. I placed 2nd in the contest, beaten by a Nissan R34 GTR custom build which was very nice.

    I'm looking for a 1/18 scale Ferrari 458 Engine to donate for a custom build I'm doing. Does this model and the non Elite 458's have full engine blocks? Or do they cheat and cut it off where you can't see?

  • @ROBSMODELCARS

    @ROBSMODELCARS

    It does have an engine block, but not a lot of detail under what you can see.

    Hello, I'm from Brazil and I'm a collector too. I bought a large set of spare parts and wheels. However it is very difficult to get information or tutorial on how to change the wheels of the miniatures! I know that each one has a different way of extracting the wheels, some just pull, others even have a screw. and that each axis is different in fit and thickness. HOWEVER how to create a method to put new wheels? when the diameter of the wheel hole fitting is not the same as that of the axle? do you cut the shaft? and stick a new spinning system with the new wheels? is it possible to tutorial this? I believe it is the most important part of customization. is it also possible to make an adjustable mini air suspension system for miniatures? sorry for the english, i use google translator
