Wish more doctors were like you. Most go to school, study hard and pass their tests, then stay close minded and never read another research paper. Patients have a totally different perspective that doctors will never have unless they are open minded or personally experience the illness/problem. Please continue the informative videos as they are more than helpful.

Saw your video comparing traditional GI docs with holistic docs. You hit the nail on the head. I have had SIBO for over a year and visited a number of various types.. GI docs tend to ignore diet & use 1-2 courses of Abx, Functional docs use restrictive diets, multiple rounds of treatment and ignore probiotics and prokinetics

TY Nicole for all your helpful videos. I went to a GI doc, a nutritionist and a functional cilinic. The GI doc told me that the reason I was burping was because I was probably swallowing too much air. (I felt like slapping him). Nutritionist put me on an anti-microbial which seemed to be working, but then the GI doc stepped in a put my on Rifamiximin which totally set me back. Two years laters (and another round of Rifx) and I'm still not over it. I am staying committed to finding a solution for this.

I did strict low fodmap for quite awhile, at least 6 months. In the end I ended up just removing all sugars and carbs because that’s what bothered my stomach the most and that’s how I’ve eaten for the last year, pretty much zero sugar and no breads or anything. Now that I’m almost healed from Sibo and can eat pretty much anything, I ate fruit for the first time in a year and was totally fine. I was so scared to eat it though lol. It’s exciting being able to eat again and it’s hard not to overdo it!

Thank you so much for these videos! Should prokinetics be taken before, during, after antibiotic treatments? Also, my GI has suggested treating me for sibo based on my symptoms without a sibo test.. Thoughts?

I'd like to learn more about alternating IBS (since a single dose of Miralax triggered what seemed to be ten days of IBS-D for me recently but I have slow fundus/colon and feel typically more in IBS-C mode) and also fructose malabsorption--I recently tested strongly positive--and/or endometriosis (I presented stage 4, relapsed twice after surgeries, one revealed spastic small intestine) if there are any videos discussing those issues as they relate to SIBO.

Hello Dr Nicole . What's your take on Sifo and diversity? If someone has serious Sifo shouldn't we expect that we might be feeding candida more than we ought ,as the amount of bacteria is limited in the upper GI ? Shouldn't we be more careful in such a case? Great videos by the way.

Thank you so much Dr. DiNezza, your content is a gift for me! I used 1200 mg rifaximin for 14 days and my diarrhea disappeared, but then it came right back. Is there going to be a similar themed video for SIFO next? I have strong hair fungal and moderate nail fungal for more than a year, so I am suspicious of SIFO as well.

Is there any common sign you canh tell us to know if a person have SIFO (normally its a sibo + candida), how to know when there a overgrowth of candida. We know candida and bacteria live together in our gut so even the microbiome test if it shows that there is candida it may not necesarily be a overgrowth of candida, any clue or any symtomp that you can say "hey, thats definitely sign of a candida overgroth"? thanks.

I’m not undiagnosed, but unstoppable, diarrhea. Any food taken explodes out within a half hour. Taking psyllium seed is helping keep the stool intact. I am now on a five day fast taking only breakfast each day. Insides are growling furiously in response.
