How Injured Animals are Treated in a Remote Himalayan Village

Fascinating to see how the villagers of Shaday try to save the life of a donkey attacked by a wolf and was almost eaten alive.

My wife and I have just discovered your channel here in the United States. It is an inspiration. We are approaching retirement age soon and hope to return to India for extended trekking. We both traveled in India and Nepal in our younger days. I am off to Peru for some trekking in the near future, but I long to get back to the Himalaya.

My God...that was so heart-wrenching & painful to see....that burning hot iron rod being placed on the open wound of the poor donkey...maybe it's the only way left to save the life of that animal & stop the infection...but it's very very painful. 😥

You have the steel nerves of a surgeon to be able to film the burning of the flesh around the wound! Great documentation. And I was so relieved (as I'm sure many of your viewers) to see the donkey walking around after that painful procedure.
