great shout out to walker-Peters, i've always found him too good for s'hampton after leaving spurs. I find his best attribute is dribbling, progressing the ball forwards. He can also play lb very well.

I get Maguire just had a good season and he can play LCB. But so can De Ligt and higher up the pitch. And KWP would be a good option but id rank Kadioglu, Mazroui, Laimer and Archie Gray as better options.

You forgot to mention how well Shaw operates alongside Rashford. It wasn't just the loss of Weghorst that impacted Rashfords form.

We should assess the LB position in pre season, whether if shaw and malacia will be fit, an LB on loan atleast should be on the cards.

Loan Malacia, sell AWB, sell Lindelof, Maguire (last chance to recoup something) Bring me De Ligt, Todibo Bring in a right back of high quality. Someone like Kadioglu or Mazroui as Dalot can play LB when Shaw inevitable gets injured or needs rest. Bring me Bard who won’t mind sitting on the bench like Arsenal did with the Kiwior. Shaw,Bard Lisandro,DeLigt, Todibo, Kambwala Dalot, Kadioglu/Mazraoui Defence sorted!

@@AJAnalysis defence seems easier to sort out. Say their list of priorities looks something like this: Araujo, Romero, De Ligt, Todibo, Chalobah I wouldn’t mind any 5. Problem is the midfield and trying to find the best compliment to Kobbie.

This is very false. Maguire in 19/20 and 20/21 played in a much higher line than we do now and he excelled. Played so well in 20/21 that many believed our end of season crumble was due to his injury. High lines aren’t about speed even tho it helps. Once you have a good tactical set up, a high line with compactness high up the field and a goal keeper who sweeps well, you don’t necessarily need a speedster as a CB. It helps but it’s one of the least important attributes of an elite CB

​@@emmanuelogelle3965 We didn't play a high line under Ole in either of those seasons. Regardless, to play in a high line without having pace, you need to be able to read the game very well. Similar to Ruben Dias at City or even Thiago Silva during his time at Chelsea. However, Maguire doesn't read the game well at all in my opionion. He is also a shocking 1 on 1 defender which he will be required to do way more of going forward.

At left back, start malacia and have amass as his backup. True we haven't seen too much of him but malacia can become the next evra and solid lb if given the chance. In Central defence, sign todibo/de ligt and partner with licha. Again, sign anselmino/colwill and partner with kambwala if we fail to sign branthwaite. Evans can be 5th choice cb. Lastly, at right back, sign geertruida. Shaw, maguire, lindelof and wan bissaka all need to be sold.

I like this and think thia should be the priority for this off-season. But McGuire as backup is a no-no, selling him brings more $$ than lindelof, so keep the swede and let the other go. Hopefully with a good back 4 our CM partnership between maino and whoever is there looks way better. Then look for a second striker and if there's still money a rw

MARGINAL GAINS: Given our money situation rather than buy 2 top players, buy 4 competent if not top players who have the right skillset: technically good, football intelligence, play high line, flexibility to play in a number of positions, and stay fit. This would impact profoundly on Onana, midfield and attack going forward

I'd sign Branthwaite as he's a future England star and we need homegrown players who are and will be good enough to be first choice. Yes he'll be expensive, but he would be worth it. Also more than capable of playing RCB as he's fairly two footed. I'd also sign Todibo as he's an obvious signing. At CB I'd keep both Maguire and Evans as backup giving us 5 options while I'd send Kambwala out on loan as he needs game time to develop and he won't get that on the United bench with at least three players ahead of him in the pecking order (Martinez, Branthwaite and Todibo). I'd also look to sign a new LB, this season having no natural LB had a massive impact on the side both in defence and attack. If Shaw was fit and in form all season would we be having a discussion about Rashford's form? I doubt it. We can't rely on either Shaw or Malacia to be fit. In an ideal world I'd want Aït-Nouri, but we can't afford to spend that much on a LB, so I'd look to Ligue 1 where there are three really good options at LB, Melvin Bard, Bradley Locko and Adrien Truffert. Any of those three would be a great option and all three would cost less than 20m, probably somewhere between 12-18m. I'd then send Malacia on loan as he'll need to play to get back into form and fitness. Then next summer we could look to sell one of Shaw or Malacia, whichever makes the most sense. At RB I'd look for a young up and coming player who can be the understudy to Dalot, someone like Michael Kayode would be perfect, again probably achievable for around 20m. It'd be more than 100m for those four, but that would have us set.

I agreed with the centre back option but not on the chalobah. We have kambwala who wouldn't mind coming off the bench and learn from someone like Todibo. Left and right back is not that urgent. We need to spend more in midfield especially DMF to partner with Mainoo. Then spend the balance for backup striker, maybe someone like Guirassy that has release clause around 17.5m if im not mistaken. Other than that, i hope to see the youngsters to get some minutes next season, maybe in cups matches

Personally i'd sign Jorel hato, todibo, anselmino. Sell maguire, lindesoft, and wan bisakka. Keep Evans, Martinez, kambwala. Todibo, kambwala can play back -up right back. Even hato can invert as a right back. Hato would be a great understudy to Martinez and Luke Shaw.

I Don't think maguire will leave nobody will pay him over 150k in Europe I'd love De ligt tho

I would sell Maguire instead of Lindelof. Maguire is probably a slightly better player, but I think we´ll get more money for him than Lindelof so I would sell Maguire this summer and then Lindelof next summer. I would instead have Lindelof as a backup to Todibo (and not sign Chalobah). Loan Kambwala to the French league (if he can stay fit I think he could be our Saliba) and keep Evans as 5th choice (need experience with Varane, Maguire and hopefully Casemiro leaving). Wouldn't mind Walker-Peters and Lucumi, and just like to touched on I would be careful with spending money on a left-back because of Amass. Would consider loaning a LB (like Regulion) again, there´s a risk that Shaw, Malacia and Martinez have all 3 become injury prone.

Don't you get it by now? Martinez should not and cannot be moved from his spot. He's crucial to our build up plus, at Ajax when he played LB or CB, he was drained asap

Because he’s 6ft3 and will improve with age in that area. A lot of centre backs have good seasons and bad seasons when it comes to aerial duels but as long as he doesn’t shrink he’ll improve with age

Shaw should be sold this summer if INEOS are serious. He's obviously talented but it all counts for nothing when he's injured. Since signing for Utd, Shaw has been unavailable thru injury for almost 50% of games. That's unacceptable. Very unacceptable imo

Not a bad re-build. But I would say moving Maguire on is a priority. He's on huge wages; we won't be renewing his deal which has 2 years left; he compromises us too much when he plays (won't play a high line, too slow if caught out, slow on the ball, inaccurate passing).

Ideally we need multiple players for these positions considering Shaw & Licha could potentially be injury prone RB Dalot but i would replace AWB doesnt fit the system RCB get someone like Todibo Id take Lindelof over Maguire. Chalobah is a good shout though if possible. Least priority id say though. Kambwala can also rotate there LCB Licha but we need another class cover as priority. Somebody in the likes of Bastoni (probably impossible) but that profile. Inacio? LB Shaw but injury prone same with Malacia . But we need a proper cover if possible Id say priority would be 1 first choice RCB 2 backup LCB that can play LB 3 Backup LB 4 Backup RB to replace AWB 5 Backup CB instead of Maguire/Lindelof/Kambwala

Shaw can play LCB back up. If we manage his games by getting a Mazroui so Dalot can play LB where he’s even better imo. Also bringing in De Ligt who is very comfortable on the left side can also cover LCB.

@@willgimenez5188 Personally not a fan of Right footers playing LB. Unless they’re exceptionally gifted attacking wise.. id say the only one i like is maybe Cancelo. I wouldn’t take Dalot out of his favored RB position hes been great. And just sign cover for him. De Light has been good this season sort of a redemption arc starting. Always liked him hope he comes good. Also Bayern are looking to sign Jonathan Tah so either him or Kim Min Jae or Upemecano could be available we should be looking into that. I would sign them instead of Todibo though for RCB With that being said i wouldnt like any of them for the LCB Licha role. I feel like we need a proper ball playing left footed guy like Licha for Ten Hags style.

@@jazilahmad7094 I didn’t like it either but it suits Dalot’s game a lot. Coming into the midfield from the left is a lot more natural and it opens the pitch up for him. Look at him in the final. Also is a goal threat from the left side more than the right due to his shooting technique. And in regards to Lisandro he’s got to stay fit. All the top teams barely change there centre back pairing through the season, only sporadically.

Sell Lindelof Maguire AWB Todibo is a done deal so we can spend 50-60m on First choice RCB todibo as backup IF MAGUIRE stays then only bring todibo Bring a backup LCB LIKE BRAINTHWAIT only for 40m max Backup RB for only 15-20m Keep Shaw Malacia and also spend low for one more LB SHAW LICHA DE LIGT DALOT BACK UP - MALACIA............. TODIBO................. .

@@renardocarty3140 why spend big on a player who when Lisandro is fit is only gonna be bench. Makes 0 sense. For the amount we’d have to pay we can get De Ligt and one of Todibo/Chalobah. And the argument of him being comfortable on the right is too much of a risk to spend that much on. Now we’ve backed ten hag so just give him De Ligt or Todibo someone who he will 100% trust

Maguire can be sold for 30 and has a annual salary of 10. Next year he's a free agent. So it will cost us 40m to have maguire as a backup CB for one year... He's not even the right profile of CB for TH style of play. I like maguire, but sell him. We should have gotten Tosin for free instead and then sell Maguire, it would have saved us 25-30m net spendable budget. Now Chelsea got Tosin for free and we would have to pay Chelsea 30m ish to sign Chalobah. Tosin is quite a lot better than Chalobah too imo (and statistically too). Very dumb imo.

So we’ve got malacia who might not play for us again as cover for injury prone Shaw and you lost me at Maguire as left sided cover for Martinez 😂
