Even when you sample you still have to clear, credit, and pay. This is a way to steal from peers which is NOT cool. You'd understand if you were a melody maker, composer, or musician.
@whynot7191

@@yuufeternal5837 nah you just grew up in a buble of what you think music is, and it shows. You're making excuse because you see other people do it. You're basically saying you do whats popular because everone else does. You're a follower. There was a time when musicians had to MAKE their own music only using unique ideas from their mind. You would know this if you were a musician.

"While you may use loops in your own productions / tracks / video soundtracks etc you can NOT claim copyright of those loops as is or as part of your original composition. As a beatmaker/producer this may bother us only because they are living a dream we are still chasing. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to the artist, songwriters, engineers, and record executives. If it can be a hit and generate money thats all that matters.
@sodamunkey5742 Жыл бұрын
Music already has so many variations of note combinations that even if you “stole” a sample; as long as you change some part about it to fit your sound, your style, and your track then it’s fair use and it’s making something your own. Don’t let people tell you that taking a public file, credit or not, is stealing or copying. Make it urs n have fun makin it. Loops helped me get started on my 6 years of producing. I just downloaded this jungle sample pack this week and noticed that the song ‘dubby’ by DJ Rashad featuring Danny brown is almost entirely just like 5 or so loops from the sample pack, about half of them chopped up a little bit but otherwise unaltered. As a beatmaker/producer this may bother us only because they are living a dream we are still chasing. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to the artist, songwriters, engineers, and record executives. If it can be a hit and generate money thats all that matters.
This is usually fine though, or at least the type of electronic music that I love has always sampled and borrowed from all over and been straight up about it. It’s a great song though, and the arrangement of those samples is very clever and makes it what it is.

Its called sampling, and its common practice in production, not stealing, theres probably atleast 20 songs you like that sample another song
"Sorry bro I stole your melody" "Bro, it wasn't my melody"
and in the vocaloid community producers often share their files so everyone else can cover and innovate on each other its beautiful. BUT CREDIT IS ALWAYS GIVEN
the thing is music industry producers have talent, you played yourself
I still enjoy coming up with my own Melodies and chords. No diss, that’s just why I got into this. Nothing compares to it.
ITS BEEN A YEAR AND THIS GUY STILL HASNT TAKEN THIS DOWN :sob:
I don’t think any producers are doing this boss

Music is art. You can't steal art, you can steal property. When you see art as property, you take away all meaning from the actual art itself. Greed kills the beauty of art.

When you don't treat it as property and only as a thing of beauty too pristine for monetization, you take away the livelihoods of artists, making art a hobby rather than something to be mastered.

You realize that even though a lot of producers in the industry can make a melody most just choose not to or they go for the absolute bare minimum because that’s what the most artist like to rap or sing over anyway or they just use a sample or someone’s loop. there’s no right way to go about making music, as long as it bangs and whatever artist you’re giving it to is happy that’s all that matters besides of of the hit songs and fire songs, come from samples and loops from other people or again. A super bare minimum but catchy melody
Imagine being so bad at music that you can't recognise a melody because it's being played on a different instrument or at a slightly different speed.

So... sampling? What a character man :D
That’s exactly how mine sounds when I’ve tried to use melodyne too to figure out melodies, it never sounds anything like the original
A a couple of things after reading the comments. 1: using loops from something like looperman or splice or other loop libraries/packs is not stealing. It might be lazy but it isn’t stealing. 2: nobody is stealing your stuff. They might be stealing stuff but it definitely isn’t your stuff.

it’s more like inspired to another melody, ot goes from baroque
I don't think people are out there just stealing melodies and I don't think anyone can just own a melody. Like anyone that's doing it professionally like that's gotta come so easy
Nice, can’t wait to do this when I get home!
Thanks dude this helped me so much
I don't have this plugin but generally i look for looperman loops that include the chords in the description and play the melody by ear

what upset me isn't about "stealing your melodies" cuz face it, there aren't that many rooms for anyone to go outside the box. It's how they changed very little of your melodies and claim it's theirs.
Stealing or not every melody you can think of has already existed in every mode and key and tempo for hundreds of years classical music needs to make a come back
That’s how Kanye would do producers
Anyone who already know a bit of music theory knows that is way better to just sit down and play the actual music by ear

Stand on the shoulders of those that came before you. Programmers do that too, I'm sure most all arts and trades do this. It's not stealing, it's transformative letting the music flow through you.

I used to LOOOVE uploading on looperman. Like way back when they had their point system. That was the point of the royalty-free site. Loved hearing what others came up with using YOUR loop.
Been trying to figure out how to do this, thanks!
you can do the same directly in ableton with pretty much anything, melodies, harmonies and even grooves if you want lol
i hate when people say “stealing” . this is just a way of sampling
No value for music producers these days. Because even if they compose thier own tune, people say "he has taken it from some plugins/looper packs".😓😣 Music is such a beautiful thing in life, I don't know what will happen to musicians &Music industry in future😔😔😔
