I always look at Tarot as a prompt to ask myself questions and know myself better. Even if you're asking a question as you're drawing card (sometimes I don't) you can use them to gain introspection on areas you might not think to ask yourself. Usually things kind of subconsciously bubble to the surface, and all you needed was a suggestion.

I've grown to view divination as a guided meditation exercise, and I personally love tarot when I need a lift or to shift my perspective. I don't find it to be magical or accurate, but it's a very useful tool in learning more about my self or getting a gut check on my attitude, thinking process, and priorities.

Great video, but small nitpick. The card set you have is technically an Oracle deck, not a Tarot deck. Tarot is a specific kind of Oracle deck, like Coke vs Soda. All Tarot decks are Oracle decks, but not all Oracle decks are Tarot decks. Otherwise great video as always!

Confirmation bias is generally an issue, but you just gotta be honest with yourself. Honesty is not necessarily negative. Just don't forget that life is fun and mystical and you have a part to play in it all

I have been thinking about Odin and Freya and I have been looking into how I can start worshiping them. My "spirit animal oracle" card deck was calling me, so I picked it up and asked who I should work with / who wants to works with me and while I was shuffling the cards, white raven spirit card fell out. i have done tarot readings for more than 40 years, an observation from my own experience is the divination does not come from the runes/tarot/whatever but from the "spirit" - doesnt matter what you use to divine - the objects are really just a crutch, at first to help with one to be more confident in receiving divination, and second most people have trouble accepting a person as a source of divination but find it easier to accept divination coming from an object - never saw those nordic cards before so you just sold me on buying them on amazon, thank you - they are beautiful - found you channel when researching my nordic ancestry, my ancestors are swedish - traced my geneology as far back as early 1400's

Really enjoyed this one. I love using Tarot and Oracle decks to divine all sorts of things, especially big decisions. I’m tiptoeing into runes, lol. I realize that tarot may not have been around during the early days of Norse paganism in ancient times…but I really think they’d have utilized tarot and Oracle decks if they’d been available.

The card deck you have is technically an oracle deck. Tarot is a specific system that has 2 separate arcana (Major and Minor). Tarot decks are oracle decks but oracle decks are not oracle decks. I also have it and use the Yggdrasil card spread once a month as a self-check-in. If you want a really good norse tarot deck, I would suggest the Runic tarot that's sold by lo scarabeo and distributed by llewellyn.

I also have that Yggdrasil deck, even as someone who's done tarot for decades that one is hard to wrap my head around 😅 I think people taking tarot and applying it to their individual situation might be akin to reading a horoscope but to me, that doesn't invalidate the results. I think in some ways thats how it's supposed to work--it helps us with introspection & decision making more than seeing the future

One of the most profound experiences of my life was honoring my ancestors & asking for a message, which was not clear at the time, then having an event follow that played out exactly as the cards said. Like you said, divination in itself does work, everyone just has to find what they connect with

Divination is complicated--and regardless what anyone has to say about the efficacy of divination in and of itself, there's also the human factor to take into consideration. It's difficult to separate oneself from one's own biases or hopes and fears--and that affects the reading and what you get out of it. Learning any form is a process of years, I've found. I've worked with tarot since 2013 and have had great success with it--although I have found that not all decks "speak" as loudly as others. There is truth that it matters what deck someone is using. Runes, in my experience, are divinatory tool that lacks any form of tact. At all. I like to use them for those times when I just need to know the heart of a matter without anesthetic--and my goodness, do they ever deliver! lol Even for those who may argue that ALL divination is ALL placebo effect ( I don't think that personally, but just to entertain the idea)--the placebo effect in and of itself is rather magical. It is the mind deciding what reality to create and then manifesting it. That's not nothing--and it can be quite revealing. While I know that some use the term "placebo effect" to try to invalidate various practices, but I think it exposes the critics lack of understanding of what the placebo effect is to begin with. That's why I think critics need a stronger argument to rely upon--we should put ideas and beliefs under the microscope, that's a necessary process. But I do believe that criticism needs to construct stronger lines of reasoning in order to have more a productive examination.

All divination such as knowledge and adding informations, it can be useful for us to understand new knowledge and as a guidance, all symbols has meaning and it happen for a reason. Journey, spiritual and knowledge are needed to understand the main function of divination. And it back again on that individual. Cz at the end of the day they create their own destiny to change their life. ✨✨

I have the Yggdrasil Deck, I love using these cards.

Tarot is absolutely fascinating. I used to be really in to it. I still am, sometimes. The Thoth Tarot is my go to but you really need to have a background in Aleister Crowley’s philosophy which can take you a lifetime of study. It’s based on Hermetic Qaballah , Astrology, world religions, etc., etc. And, yes, the Norse pantheon plays a part, but so does every other pantheon. It’s so eclectic that you will never get to the bottom of it. But, it’s fascinating as f***.

Other useful forms of divination include: astrology, Ouija, and pendulum divination. It takes a lot of practice in order to get an accurate reading, however. Your personal biases can influence the results if you are not an experienced diviner.

Placebo effect is actually a valid thing bro. Whatever gives that person confidence to change or work through personal issues is awesome. But yes reading your own cards can be difficult. But I am a weird introspective person. I have no problem looking at some cards and being like oh. Bad news.... That is not true love or seeing my own kid lied on me. Some people just want to be on camera avd be telling a story

Tarot cards are all about trusting your intuition. Things will just feel right. I personally get chills when my thoughts are on the right track. Sometimes my thoughts are a slap in the face. But a good slap often a reminder to me to trust and let fate handle what I can't control.

Here is a tip for not projecting meaning on your rune reading, draw your runes without looking at them, place then in your pocket and carry them throughout the day, at the end of the day think clearly about your day and solidify it and what you feel and what's happened around and to you. Then finally look at your runes and research their meaning, their poems and the order that you draw them. See if that relates to your day that you had. Or what is in your past or what may be set before you. You will find yourself not looking for them to define your day and more just clarifying where you are currently. Runes are funny and you kinda have to trust your gut while being knowledgeable. I draw a rune from a bag each day and i take the one that my fingers touch first. And i carry it with me because they require energy and you can't imagine things in a timeline format. Your potential future effects your past, and visa versa.

I still look at the wooly bear rings to see how bad the winter will be.

Really it's most useful as self reflection and focusing on what is within your power to change and knowing when to recognize you have no power at all over and working through being okay with letting that issue/person/goal/change go and really you can't predict the future. But you can predict your own actions and choosing the best for yourself.

Thank you for showing the rune pull. I always wanted to know the proper way to pull. When I was plowing my field I would have a Raven or blackbird visit me. It wouldn’t do anything but look at me. I took a video of the Raven or black bird. My friend mentioned it was Huggin or Muggin gaining info to report back to Odin.

I would say i believe there is power in the runes that is hidden and only obtained by one who searches in the correct places

i'm drawn to tarot...i'm only now dipping into runes...i've read for myself and i've done readings of people i know and have a connection to...for myself...i feel like the cards are conduits between souls...my readings have been eerily accurate so i use the cards sparingly...

Like I said its about who is doing the reading of any divination. I did bit grow up around tarot cards. Or ever seen or gotten any readings. For me it's a mixture of art association psychology and a bit of imagination. I don't go into a reading asking any specific thing. I leave it up to what ever comes out in my cards. I also don't read them every day unless I'm learning a new deck but I agree with you people can only get as much use from them as they are willing to actually apply any kind of insight in any meaningful way

Synchronicity is how it works.

Something that helped me move beyond the placebo affect a bit is learning how to interpret the readings with the help of a spirit. I started by conversing with them through tarot but you can use any divination method you want, and then I use a secondary divination method to get yes/no answers. First, you interpret the primary spread and ask the spirit if your interpretation is accurate and you use the secondary method to get a yes or no answer. Through trial and error I started to develop a better sense for how the spreads were to be interpreted regardless of how the more logical part of my brain wanted to interpret them. It helped me identify where my thoughts were coming from and better distinguish my ego from my observer self from the spirit. I suspect this isn't talked about so much because working with spirits in this fashion is considered more advanced I think? But you can converse with any spirit you want and that wants to do this with you. For the secondary divination method you can use a coin or dice or even cards, as long as it is binary. Say you use a coin and heads = yes and tails = no or you use dice and an even number = yes and an odd = no etc. It helped me develop my divination abilities significantly so it could help you.

Write out what you want and how you think you can it? Then ask the universe how do I get it. You will be surprised how accurate the readings will be. The trick is to be honest with yourself. Easier said then done. Great video BTW

Divination should be done for others, when reading for yourself you just see what you want to see. It never works when I read for myself, same goes for my friends who read. Find someone other than yourself to read for you. Also, a good technique if you don't know anyone. Pick a card or rune a day, dont look at it. End of day you journal your day and at the end you look at the rune or card and see how it speaks to your day. Really helps when starting divination- helps to be more honest when pulling for yourself in the futur

Because whenever is most on your mind well be the first associations you will see in the cards. But you might not be what you thought you were curious about.

All the birds all the time. Those two hawk or vultures... Like are they some kind of raptor eagle large bird things. They be getting close.

Raven is my spirit animal lol I get a lot of birds and... It's kinda starting to weird other people out. Like the Swan that followed me all summer. Like seriously. But yeah of course birds came out. You'll find that alot of mythology mirrors eachother. There are a lot of correlations between ArchAngels and mythological dieties. But you know the story of how Odin wanted third sight so he was willing to sacrifice his right eye and... Well I'm honestly stoned. But there are 2 ravens. Memory and thought. Ravens were the first birds Noah sent out to see if there was land. They just kept going. Cause that's just that story

Tarot traditions started with a mundane playing card deck that was submitted to many changes over a few hundred years. I prefer sticking with a marseille type 2 as I dislike the occult add ons and find them quite useless when it comes to reading tarot. That deck you've got there is an oracle deck however, not a traditionnal tarot deck. Not that it matters much. In my opinion, whatever tool you use should be used as a reflective tool for oneself (or the querent) rather than a predictive one. By tweaking the use, we can still get so much usefull information out of those systems.. Because the way I use those varied systems is never predictive, I guess it ceases to be divination? Is divination synonym of prediction? My hot take; predictions aren't very useful, at least not in the 21st century. An already traced path that leads you because it's your destiny doesn't leave much room for self-exploration and evolution of your psyche. Thank you for the video, gave me a great deal to think about :-)

First rule with the spiritual realm. Is there is no sarcasm and no such thing as a joke. Just assume some good energy and be specific with who you want to hear from. Who you are asking for. Ancestors or GOOD HOLY spirits... You know Angels. People don't think to do that. Cause you can pick up all kinds of weird shit. I think it has to do with blood line and ancestral background. You feel drawn to the runes.

I struggle with this with the runes as well. Though I do find them to be a little less biased

I personally don't see it further than runes can be powerful symbols just like the Christian cross but I don't believe in divination. I so take signs like that raven cry but that's about it for me.

There is a very spiritual realm everywhere. I wouldnt take KZread tarot readers as... Like seriously. It's like I just want to hear about me. Not days of our lives and shit
