A true furniture "artist". Since the first day I saw one of your videos, I have never been disappointed watching you create. Always relaxed and smiling at the results!!
Now this was so very creative! I knew I took home economics for reasons other than cooking!😜 Awesome layers and crusty goodness! This is truly what creating is all about. Finding alternative ways to get to the look you want! Awesome job❤️❤️❤️
it is so nice to see someone willing to try something new and learn what happens in "real" time. Thank you so much.
AN EXPLORER IN THE ART WORLD! Thank you.
Cra, Cra! In a good way! wild & cool & creative & unique! Who knew you could get that look from your kitchen! Kudos to you!
I just think this is fantastic!!! Looks like it was well used and loved by an amazing artist for years and years!
Thank you so much for thinking outside the box, this is awesome! The colors are absolutely beautiful, it's exactly what I needed. I'm always playing it safe with boring colors, but you just transformed my life 🙂.
Wow! Now that's textured 😀✨️👌!!
You are a mad scientist in the best way! Absolutely love all the layers and texture you created on this beautiful piece! You are such an amazing teacher and artist! I love this idea and using simple ingredients we all have. You are just soooo inspiring to watch and learn from. Thank you for sharing my beautiful friend. ❤️

Interesting how one can take simple ingredients from their home to make a piece like this shine
The overall colour looks like a dream...🧡🧡🧡
Wow...that took a lot of work👍
So beautiful! & thanks for new & useful info that will help us experiment w/out spending an arm & a leg
You are such an inspiration! This is a gorgeous piece, and totally has me thinking out of the box. ❤❤❤❤
I had to watch this one twice to start sinking in, and will probably watch a few more times! I can totally see this technique using darker colors for a galaxy look, which my oldest granddaughter loves right now! And I bet the grands would love help doing this as well. Funny how you said, it's not like we are going to use vinegar on this! Then all of a sudden, there you are, totally using vinegar! Very mad scientist! Bwahahaha! Love it and love you too Crys'Dawna. Someone should put you on the cover of a magazine to highlight your colorful creativity. Wait, they already did that! 😘
This was fun to watch and you did such a great job just "trusting the process"...I also wanted to say thanks for showing this in "real time" not alot of KZread artists do that and it just really helps us out to be able to learn and recreate. 😊 this is, I believe video №3 I've watched of yours and you have definitely gotten a new Sub!❤🎉👍
You're something else..amazing outcome..love it.
Love this and the technique and ingredients. 👏👏👏👏
Speechless #ARTIST #FEARLESS
I love it, Crys'Dawna! It's cool af and I love the texture!
Wow! Wow! Wow! ❤️❤️
Looks fantastic 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜
♥️ Oh My Crys’Dawna, Your so Smart and I Adore how you think!!!! This first piece of Furniture Technique would be so Cool for a child’s play room or bedroom. Also, could be used in an Elegant Dining room. So many ways this can be used to create a Magnificent Piece of Art. And for a Fireplace….make me stop, lol…. Your Friend Who Loves You Dearly, Marley ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What I used to do when I still had a wheelchair ramp made out of treated pine was I used SAND (like regular sand) in my exterior paint: it created a bumpy texture, but it also added traction. I live in a place where winter can be harsh sometimes and using sand-laden paint cuts down on both any risk of slippage and any risk of black ice.
This is awesome! Thank you for experimenting for all of us!
I've been missing you. This is an awesome video. I love all of the techniques. The piece represents you... beautiful and fun.
I love anything you do with you ur furniture! I can’t find the words for this one but I love it just the same … kaleidoscope of colors maybe … 😮
I use baking soda all the time mixed with chalk paint. So cool.
Original and awesome 😎 😊
Lol you are a little crazy but in a good way 😂😂😂😂 very cool project and a great idea👌
Absolutely love this piece looks fantastic 💜🕉
Just beautiful 😍
The piece looks amazing ❤ im definitely going to try this technique!!!
Okay lady, get out of my head 😆 I'm using a SUPER textured finish in my next piece and getting it with baking soda! I've used that a bunch of times but never any of these others. LOVE how this turned out! You've inspired me to pull my old cocoa powder out of the cabinet and get rusty 😍

Insane! It's totally insane, I love it. Definitely not your grammas dresser, yep. I'm going to try this on something. A sewing machine cabinet. I just happen to have 3 old trashy looking ones.
Love it!
The woman who inspired me to start my furniture artistry! Loved you from the start!
I love it!!
Wow! Such a artist creation, it looks like the background of a painting, and you get lost in the melding of all the colors and textures. Thanks for sharing your ideas with all of us.
Beautiful
Very cool
Looks like u brought over from Germany!!!❤️
Fabulous
Crys'Dawna, I think it's safe to say you don't just dream in color, you also dream OF color! (I do, too.) Never thought to use cinnamon or cocoa powder to create a rust effect, but I'll try it! Commercial texture products are ridiculously expensive. Great to see that common household supplies can work, too. Thanks!
Thank you again for inspiring so many… Your work is (pardon the expression) is BADASS. That is a huge compliment!

Art therapy. ❤ Love the end result!!!!
This is extraordinary and I love it. I've used cornflour which works well. It's a similar texture to the Pureco powder.
I really liked the idea of using kitchen supplies to create your piece which, btw, is stunning as always. I enjoyed seeing all the colours slowly reappearing. Amazing job 😊

I love this piece! You are so creative. I want to try this but I’m scared! I don’t think I could mess it up! Lol
Honestly wasn’t sure where you were going with this….so I thought I’d trust the process..I love the whole concept but the handles weren’t my cup of tea but it does suit the piece as whole ❤❤❤
gorgeous piece of furniture! 🙂 i was wondering how long it actually took you to complete it considering all these layers and the dry time. thank you for sharing!
I would have loved to watch the full process.

Im not sure what you mean?
Once again I love it. I think you must be my long lost sister!
So, I am making a super textured piece for the first time. I used salt and sand in some stucco medium that I sanded down to create a faux stone finish. My question is, how do you properly clean a heavily textured piece? It's going in my bathroom so my plan is to coat it with polyurethane, then wax it. I've done that on a few pieces and it works really well, but not on a piece with so much texture. Any tips... anyone? Thanks so much in advance! 😃🤗
Could you use cornstarch in place of the powder. I use it my homemade Gesso. This piece is Fantastic! ❤
That’s pretty cool! I’m assuming you did more on the sides without a video. I’d have to watch a couple more times before recreating. Sweet!

How do I find and purchase your line of colors with a dream apothecary for purchase? I have searched all over and if I’m lucky enough to find one of your colors they won’t allow me to order it? It says find a local stockist or some thing like that, I have no local stockist anywhere in my area I’m in Louisville Kentucky. For example on the daydream apothecary website I can find Maverik, (sp) it just won’t let me order it? That’s just one example I want to order several. I also want to tell you that I love watching you and I have for the past year. I simply want to try your paint and I’m having a really hard time obtaining it.
I had an odd thing happen last year when I used the kosher salt and that was my paint didn’t dry. It sat damp the next day and the salt actually dissolved . I had no texture. Not sure why that happened . And off subject I’ve noticed that your camera looks like may have a decentering issue . It’s sometimes hard to see clear your work. It’s out of focus usually on the side . It seems to be more so in the wide shots and may be also that the F-stop you have it on? Is it set at wide open? I had a wide angle that had the de-centering issue .
@BellaRenovare
Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! So I noticed my camera is having a hard time focusing and it was driving me mad!! I will have to look and see if I can recenter it!! If I am being honest my camera has fallen more times than I want to admit also 🤭 as far as the salt dissolving I have t had that happen, what brand of paint did you use? I wonder if that makes a difference?
@flaminbird1
Жыл бұрын
@@BellaRenovare You're welcome. I think the fact it has fallen has caused the issue. It most likely dislodged or broke the focusing mechanism and or other parts :/. You'd have to get it repaired for the issue and it may be more costly than replacing it. I had used General Finishes and Dixie Bell. I'm wondering if the addition of baking soda is a key ingredient that I did not have? Maybe it absorbs the moisture from the salt?
Sei bravissima !!!!!! Mi piace quello che fai ma nn ti capisco! Puoi mettere la traduzione? Grazie mille e complimenti 🎉
May I ask please who is the artist and song name you play in your background when presenting your piece.
Wouldn’t the mold just add more color? 😊

Did the baking soda react to the soda mixed into the paint? Or did the paint encapsulate it and retard the process?
@deanneparis8888
Жыл бұрын
I just tried it. The vinegar did not react at all to the soda covered in paint. I used a 1/3 mix soda to paint.
Baking powder / baking soda / bicarbonate of soda ... Aaahhgg! The different names between countries is maddening.
Why vinegar and not water?

Because it bubbles and creates craters and a different crusty texture :)
