How I Use DIGITAKT // Tips for beat making and composition
Музыка
This video is a run through of how I typically use the Digitakt, followed by a few audio examples. It's a quick tutorial where I run through some of my favorite sound design techniques, rhythmic ideas, and ways of the using the LFO. As always, let me know your thoughts and additions. I'd be curious to hear what you are doing differently, other ideas, sound design possibilities, sequencing things I'm not taking advantage of, etc...let's talk.

Out of the hundreds of digitak videos I’ve seen, your fingers slap trigs the hardest. :)
This is the first video that I have seen that makes me actually think about this instrument. Nicely done. Very creative. Just a totally original feel.
the lfo on sample start time is such a genius idea! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us!

... absolutely.
My favorite thing to do is sample a single source, and highly manipulate it, making a complete track. It isn't easy, and you really have to manipulate the heck out of the sounds, but it creates an overall color that's hard to deny.
One of the best videos on digi, mainly because of your incredible taste and sounds. Nicely done
That's an incredibly inspiring workflow! Thank you for sharing, man. I'm gonna have to try these techniques in my own projects. Love your dusty, punchy sound :)

High praise from the Digitakt King!
That's the most organized sound browser i have ever seen here on youtube. :D Love your music and highly appreciate these videos.
I love the subtle variation via the LFO to slightly change the sample start time....really cool. Your personal sound library is awesome, great sound design. This track is so simple but it doesn't sound like anyone else and that's what it's all about, your own voice! .So glad I found your channel, looking forward to experiencing more your other KZreads.
This is the single most helpful video on this. I've watched like 4 times already.
Truly exceptional. Your workflow on the Digi is amazing. Nothing more inspiring than watching someone who knows their device inside and out, bred from a love for it. So happy have stumbled on to your channel!

modulating sample start of the kick a.k.a. a nightmare for the DJ 😂 but great video!

Something you can do is P.lock the start of the kick to be right on the beat at the start of every bar for example
That last beat had a heavy Black Swan by Thom York vibe to it, loved it!

really nice composition! and that thing's a beast!
Very inspiring to see how you work with noises and the LFO to create grooves. Thanks!
Really helpful with you taking the time to walk us through you’re workflow, especially as I’m new to Digitakt.
Very inspiring! I Will Unpack my digitakt soon
Great video, I must say your visual quality is the best I've seen...very impressive. The Digitakt never looked so good. Lol
Really like how thick the layers are... Helpful to see that
Awesome video and some good tips! Thanks

Great video! - Even if you don't care about the digitakt - lots of great beat tips
Love it! How do you prepare your samples? On the Digitakt or in your DAW? (The latter way seems easier, I think).
Great video can use all in your sounds with the sound browser in every project? You just start with a new project with stock sounds?
love this vid though :) thank you so much very helpful
Kind of Perfect!
Great stuff! Always something to learn on this gem 🍄
@13:40 - That sound I will make when I have eaten hot spicy food the day before 😅
👏👏👏 Great Stuff! Subbed!
More workflow videos on digitakt please!
Loooove this! Thankyou so much! Do you record your own samples from the instruments directly into the Digitakt? Or so you record into computer and then transfer to Digitakt? I want to make sure my own samples sound as good as yours :) Thanks!!!

Jamooshoe I us Elektron’s transfer program to move samples from Ableton to the Digitakt. That said, recording straight into the digi works great.

Thanks much for this video. I just got a digitakt. Are those sounds that you loaded in yourself? Or did they come from the digitakt? Mine only has 64 sounds. The last one is a:064 not alone

Congrats on the new Digi! I made the sounds in this vid, using tape noise and the filter/envelope. Btw many of them are available as audio files in my Bea.ts sample pack, link at the bottom of the description
Is the source material you are using for your drums content that comes with the unit or is it custom stuff you added in yourself ?
new sub! more dt tutorial please!
Hey this was lovely! You said you downloaded your own sample packs onto the Digitakt?

What camera and audio recorder are you using here?
Where do get those noise based samples from? like the kick so much and the other samples.

How did you get the sample to load immediately to the track??
Love the look of your videos man, you've managed to properly bring your Instagram style across to this format. One thing though, I reckon your voice could use a little de-essing, your esses are a little harsh!

@@BlankFor_ms your voice reminds me a lot of Red Means Recording for some reason. I just got a Digitakt and found this video super interesting. I still haven't checked out Eurorack yet, how do you go about syncing the modules with the Digitakt? I assume a module that accepts MIDI in so that clock can be sent, but then where does the clock go from there, CV and sequencer modules?
Hello you sound like you are from the UK? I am in Cambridgeshire. Im not sure if anyone has ever told you, My friend, but you are a very good teacher I for one would love to see a beginner's guide to the DT, I have had my own DT for 2 days now but only had time for an hours practice, You explain things very well and a new Sub from me but i would love to learn more from you. I hope you have time to do a video and also more tips and tricks, Many thanks Steve

would u recommend the digitakt to a beginner who’s looking to get into ambient tape loops? if not, what synth would u recommend?
@BlankFor_ms

For tape loops, buy a tape machine! Tascam probably. For a synth, what’s your budget?

i’ve been looking into tape machines, i was asking bc i’m not sure what would be a good beginner synth to get that warm, lush, ambient sound. i’m really intrigued by the digitakt tho that’s why i asked. my budget is around 7-800 bucks

@BlankFor_ms

sunsetdrive • you can use it as a digital mono synth, it works pretty well that way. And, that takes up just one of the 8 tracks. Though, if you want a synth the digitone might be a better option.
