Excellent breakdown! I was just looking to sell some gear of mine and I never thought to make the listings more personal. Such simple advice but I can see it helping a lot!

I am glad to learn about Gear Focus. I buy as much used equipment as I do new....perhaps even more. I love a deal. YES, always show all the flaws. To me, flaws that don't impact performance are just more discounts. I like to see what the flaw is so that I can evaluate how it may have happened and whether or not it would impact reliability or how well it works. I bought a lens where the autofocus no longer worked. That was fine for me because I never use autofocus. I saved over 60% the cost of a new lens. Otherwise, it works perfectly. I used to work in a shipping department. Newspaper is also good packing material IF you do it right. Crumple the paper up and pack it in TIGHT. Put packing at the bottom of the box, then put your item on top of that, and then pack on top of that until it is difficult to close the box. This secures the item in a cocoon of protection. Amazon seems to have no idea how to do this. I will receive an item in an oversized box with no packing at all, or they put the item on the bottom of the box and some packing on top. Then everything just sloshes around, and there's nothing to protect the item on the bottom side of the box. Yeah...I have a thing about packaging. I too appreciate knowing WHY something is being sold. Good detail to include. Seeing a number of photos, and close-ups of any damage insures confidence in the seller's honesty. I'll be checking out Gear Focus now and bookmarking them. *Reverb* is also a good place to pick up used audio equipment. I've got a number of fantastic deals there.

Great video and timely! Question: Can you list on multiple locations (FB/Ebay/CL) does Ebay 'allow' that? Also, would a short 360 video of the product help or would be accepted or images only? Thanks! I have STUFF, gots to GO!!

I've cross posted items before, just means you have to be careful to stay on top of them so it's not exactly recommended. I only do it for items I don't think sell normally well on their own. Most only allow photos for upload, so not sure if video is viable on most platforms. Good luck selling!

Fantastic video but how comes you are selling the ML60? - is the Amaran 60X better in every way then? EDIT: I found your comparison video and it sounded like the Godox is overall better, just more expensive. Now that the Godox is cheaper (especially second hand), would be interesting to hear why you ultimately chose the Amaran :)

I'm using these lights in studio situations more, and the Godox is not designed to work with my automated system. So I've had to go with the lights that work with the system more. I still like the ML60. But there are some other great lights out there I'm enjoying as well.

@@FellowFilmmaker thank you, makes total sense. I’ve resorted to taping a SwitchBot robot to the back of my ML60 to automate turning it on, so I can relate :)

Excellent tips! eBay was a fantastic place to sell years ago. I’ve sold over 13k items in the past 25 years. 100% positive feedback. Lately it is harder. If you’re a buyer, eBay is a great place to shop because they will protect you from any sellers misrepresentations. If you are a seller and do not want to accept returns, you probably will still have to in the end. Thanks for sharing the info about Gear Focus I had not heard about it.

I've had success on eBay, so I think it's still a reasonable place. But its nice to have a dedicated marketplace.

@@FellowFilmmaker I agree. But it is expensive to sell on eBay with the fees especially for higher priced items.
