    After doing more research, I did all the wrong things. I love my dogs so much that I just wanted them to be happy. Once my cane became 2 & got bigger. Ended up being really restricted to where we can go etc. Thank you so much for your insight.

    I really appreciate seeing someone (in this case you) who isn't afraid to properly discipline-I stress "properly" their dog. I notice that when I bring my voice lower and quieter, my Cane - Luna, will take me more seriously. They definitely need someone who won't back down or be passive when training. (Which is all the time, lol) I love that you realize this, you're a great dog owner. I wish more people understood how important this is. Nice video! 👍🏼❤️

And don't have to yell at them.. two corsos and male and female Staffordshire. The female was fixed before she was rescued

    I love how you understand positive reinforcement doesn't always work for every dog, I wish my brother and his wife would understand e-collars aren't that bad. I feel like a little bit more "harsher" training would be beneficial for her (she's a pit bull bulldog mix) she does not respond to redirection or positive reinforcement

  • @TorriFrank
    @TorriFrank5 жыл бұрын

    I have a pit, and I was using positive reinforcement for everything but one thing he would not do. He would not stay in his side of the house, he has his spot and we do not allow him to the kitchen. But he kept going to the kitchen, the e collar fixed that in one day. All I used was the vibrate mode and he got it.

  • @vanessahamilton6377

    @vanessahamilton6377

    Our pits are the same way! They always always always push the limits. We dont allow them in the kitchen when we are eating or on the furniture or anything. We've had to put up gate barriers when we go to sleep to enforce the furniture rule. Other than that, I am constantly giving them their "place" command when they try to creep in and beg for food when we have our meals. I haven't tried the e-collar yet mostly because the 2 that push my buttons the most are both almost 14 years old and they have some anxiety issues and I worry the e-collar would make it worse. The youngest one is 4 and he's the best behaved, so he lucked out there! Haha

    Hi Michelle, I think you did a fantastic job with Dante. I agree with all 3 of your training methods. I'm a big guy but I also have 5 Cane Corso's. So for me to train them all on a physical leash will be impossible. For me to walk them all at the same time, and be able to pick up their poop efficiently, also have them under complete control would be tough. If they wanted to they could drag me like a horse and carriage out of control anywhere they wanted but with the E collar I can control all 5 with the push of a button. They know exactly with the E collar is, they know when they're wearing it they're going somewhere and they love it. I also never abused the E collar so it's almost next to never that they ever get shocked. They Listen very well so there's never a need for it. If they ever do anything disappointing or don't listen all I need to do is give them a vibrate and that reminds them of whats up, and they are devastated and feel so badd that they let me down. Then they become very apologetic in their motions. Also if I'm not around my wife or my kids could take them anywhere and have complete control. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you again. I do use my KZread as storage space for videos and I post a lot of videos on KZread. So if you ever want to see my pack and how they walk & play you're more than welcome to look up my name and see my videos. I make them public. Thank you.

    Maaaaannn she tripping my Cane girl named Mink Is my daughter. She said she's above dontae ,while I respect her way of life. I feel that an alfa dog method. Is respect for your prowess and assistant ability as well as your kindness toward them . Because in reality she's beneath him in the pecking order the only thing that gives her any controll is his willingness to let her tell him what to do. People forget that we are not predators we are prey the only thing that places us high on the food chain is the fact we have the ability to build weapons. And even though she Might have one, if dontae wanted he could assert his dominance. he's taller, faster and heavier than she is. Oh and not to mention his BITE FORCE, Bread to take down BIG GAME and FULL GROWN 275 LB MEN GIVE or take. So to mine is and equal because she wouldn't treat her child like that and if you buy his meals. In my house he's a member of the family. Because god forbid she needs him for protection he could just sit there nobody's gonna bother him. Then she'll see it differently.

    Enjoyed the two videos about Dante. IMHO the presentation could be improved by adding more dog footage showing what you’re talking about but with your voice over it. So for instance in this video, the part at the end with footage of Dante is great but almost silent, so your previous discussion could be in the background. Not sure if it’s possible with some editing. Actually the videos are very nice already. Beautiful dog.

    When he is on leash, your dog looks a little scared and not very confident, almost as if he is just waiting for the correction to come down on him. I recommend that you integrate play into your training and use a ball as reward so that he learns that his good work is also rewarded not just his mistakes punished. His head down and wavering back and forth are signs of his concern. Also when he comes to you, he should sit in front of you not overshoot by 10 feet. When he walks with dad he is able to walk with loose leash but you keep him on a short leash as if you expect that he might be getting ready to pull away. Build his confidence and he will look like a happier dog.

    Glenn McEnroe she should get those hips checked out. It’s a little hunched over & looks like a Greyhound when running and he does look insecure especially @ the 7:30 mark, look how he looks around and behind himself instead as a dominant boss with his head up posture straight. Please hope she doesn’t think I’m bashing but I have love for all breeds to be the best they can be...... ( in my singular opinion not based of facts just my eyes) Dog has weak temperament and genetic problem and should not be bred....

    Hi, thanks for your comment! I'm not an expert but I can tell you what our trainer taught us to do with Dante. 1. Introduce Dante to other dogs in neutral territory. 2. Leash each dog and pack walk from a distance. Then we gradually shorten the distance. 3. Then we have Dante walk behind the other dog and praise him when he sniffs him. (our trainer said he’s never seen a dog bite another dog’s butt, so it’s the safest way to make them meet) This process helps Dante understand that the other dog is not a threat. This worked for Dante every time we tried it.

She still play bites my kids... I'm at my wits end with it...its draining to keep talking so much. I noticed that she does "the behave to get a treat behavior "so I will mix it up with praises. Now she has started jumping on the couch and she isn't allowed in that room... but she will still go in there. I hope this will help.

    Tbh. I have a carne corso. Worth every single penny btw. And in my experience so far. I have only had a golden retriever and my corso. And the temperament for both are roughly the same. I would say the energy level for the corso is way higher. And idk about others and their corso’s. But mine is a cry baby. As soon as I leave he howls. But he did that a lot as a baby. As you would imagine they would. But corso’s are easy to train like retrievers. But you gotta do it when they are pups.

    Hi John! I think your referring to the moments that he looks up at us while training. This means he is being submissive and waiting for our queues to tell him what commands to do. When we give him the command to "break" which is his release word, he knows he is free to do as he pleases. Check out my other video to see him outside of a training situation kzread.info/dash/bejne/jH2ss7evp9PRgKQ.html Thank you for your comment and being so observant!

    I’ve noticed that with my Corso when I go outside to potty him I make him go in after and I stay out to finish my cigarette as a sign of me being the Alfa. He stands at the door wanting to come be out but I command him to go to his bed. Most times I goes potty and than comes to my left side and sits and surveys the land. There’s many ways of doing it. It’s just find a humane way that creates a connection between you and your k9

    Hi Michelle, great channel and great video. Your Corso is a well behaved dog and really stunning to look at. I wanted to ask you something. I had a Belgian Malinois and he was everything to me. Loved me through and through. However, he did have a high drive and got excited like yours did in the vid where he nearly snapped at you in your face. It happened a couple of times in his life time. I can literally count them. I recently adopted a Corso of my own and would not like this to happen again.. I don’t want to imagine it happening again with my new massive dog. How did you correct yours?

    Doesn't the e-collar shock when the dog bark or is it a switch/button operated like a taser?

  • @MichelleBrasil

    @MichelleBrasil

    5 жыл бұрын

    hi! The e-collar is connected to a remote control. The remote has a button (that only works if you press on it) and dial to control intensity (1-100). I actually tried the e-collar on my hand and did not feel anything until 25. My husband didn't feel anything until 50. It's nothing like a taser. Tasers would knock people down, while e-collars feel like a tingly sensation. Dante responds to level 10.

    Hey there! What your puppy is going through is normal. I made a video about this sometime back with my dog Peach kzread.info/dash/bejne/o42f2cufd73cg9o.html You have to teach your dog how to cope and listen to you regardless of the situation based on trust. The e collar will not achieve that. Think of the e collar as a tool to refine what your dog already knows well. It should not be used to teach a new behavior. If you are interested in learning more about them down the line, I highly recommend Larry Krohns “All you need to know about e collar training” book. It’s available on amazon

    Just a heads up, before you talk about any kind of dog, you should talk about the temperament of dog (energy point of view) and human (energy point of view), both need to be on the same side (e.g high temperament dog would be good for a marathoner or someone who does every day lots of kilometers, e.g. a greyhound dog, or collie) so that they can get along. Also, what we are looking for are the well balanced temperament dogs (from psychological point of view) and not those who have some psychological issues. What people needs to understand, and this is vital (especially for powerful dogs), ALWAYS STAY CALM no matter what happens, never - ever .. NEVER - EVER .. get angry if your dog does something, just correct him but always stay calm and neutral. Don't use human psychology to an animal. Regarding the training, everyone has their own way to train their dogs, I always accept everybody's way of training and try not to say that is good or bad, I'm just staying neutral.

    just got my cane corso 2 days ago. he was not treated right in his previous home and he is somewhat mean. constantly growling when we pick him up or when he is sleeping. he’s only about 8 weeks old. any advice?

  • @MichelleBrasil

    @MichelleBrasil

    4 жыл бұрын

    He’s still very young so I think you can really work on obedience training to build your relationship with him and get him to respect you. You can practice simple things like sitting before getting anything, heeling on walks, etc. Really try to train him any chance you get. Sometimes I just get Dante and Peach to heel with me even if I’m just switching rooms in the house. If he growls at you when you pick him up, verbally correct him and continue picking him up until he stops then put him down. It’ll help him understand that just because he doesn’t necessarily like something it doesn’t mean he can misbehave to get left alone. Be patient and consistent! Your pup will thank you for it later ☺️
