How I Think You Should Leave Deconstructs Anxiety

Ойын-сауық

Since Netflix’s show I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson premiered in 2019, the show has won 3 Primetime Emmy Awards and been nominated for 4- and for good reason. I Think You Should Leave tackles a wide range of emotions such as anxiety, insecurity, embarrassment, anger, and fear by using absurd, surreal, and occasionally existential humor and delivers something truly special. Today we take a look at how anxiety is at the heart of many of these show’s sketches.

Okay so I just realized at one point I say “In 2021 when the show premiered” and when I was reading my script I skipped over it being when SEASON 2 of the show premiered. I just want to correct it here before you nerds go nitpicking. Sorry about the mistake!

Hey man just watched one of your videos for the first time. I really like what you're doing and wish you success in your content. I was a bit concerned about your channel growth however and I thought maybe you should focus the content you decide to upload so that it is consistent. You can probably do different types of uploads on certain days or make playlists or make another channel to maintain that consistency. I saw a video that I think would be of value to you its.... kzread.info/dash/bejne/iKF1j5VvdKabctI.html ....essentially a guide to growing one's channel. Anyway wishing you the best man I hope my comment helps.

Great video man, I think you'd really like Carmen Christopher, Conner O'Malley and Dan Licata's anti-comedy brand regarding the discourse on pseudo-alpha male archetypes having their egos shattered by the nuance of more complex social relationships. Obviously by mentioning these three comedians I can't not mention Joe Pera whose show really deserves a watch.

Excellent analysis and a great video! It makes me want to rewatch the show to identify what exactly it is in each skit that evokes these anxieties while being not so far fetched that it's unbelievable. A personal favourite of mine is "Dylan's Burger". I love how at first it's a very relatable moment of "man that person's dinner looks delicious!", but it quickly descends into an obsession and a very awkward moment for everyone at the table.
