    On point.. Huge emphasis to confirm on the building the reps,multiple times a week and very rarely to do a max attempt. And when you dont expect much progress you hit your BW or bit more for reps. This video right here is all you need!

    Great video, always struggle with my press improvement, Deadlift, squat and bench I can improve but not in the press. I have never structured my programming because of frustration with my lack of progress. I’m going to seriously try and do something about it and your videos will hopefully inspire me. Thanks man💪.. P.S. cool T-shirt as well.👏

    I really enjoy your videos/content/commentary. I've always wanted a big O H press but for some reason I've always sucked at pressing. All presses. With the exception of close grip bench. 🤷 When you started doing your long vlogs it was right around the time I dedicated myself to getting a strong (for me) OH press. I've been lifting for since I was fifteen but seriously lifting since 20 so... 25 years seriously. No formal training or anything just grinding it out in the gym for those years. Anyway I always gave up on OH pressing I would get stuck at 160ish and just resign myself by saying well I'm just not good or strong at pressing. Happy to say the other week I hit push press, which is what I've been focused on, for 180 for four reps. Failed on the fifth. My goal is 185 for 5. With that goal in sight I moved the goal posts to 205 for 5. Your videos and your passion for the overhead really made me dedicate myself to it. So thank you. Much grattitude. Plus my upper body is looking SO much more powerful and muscular. I forgot to say !!!ALOT!!! of that is due to your tips. Bar path, elbows under the bar, lats tight, a closer grip etc.

  • @hakimnelson2271

    @hakimnelson2271

    You should wait and let that lower back heal. Overhead press will put a lot of pressure on your back. Just do things that doesn't have to do with a barbell on your back or over head. Biceps, triceps,calves, pullups, pushups.

    Z press, like joey does at 2:49 Less of a fall, you get to easily pause the weight between reps or when lightheaded. That and figure out why you get lightheaded, does it occur if you lift with out any significant face pressure? Is it the position of shoulders etc? Is it the position of the bar between reps and stops blod flow to your head?

    No not even a 600lb strict OHP The one guy who might get to 600lbs won’t be able to do an actual strict overhead press cos he will be so big it wont touch his shoulders at the start Actually Biby and Hall have gotten close to 6 but not with a real good standard The guys who hit 500 did it legit
