Bro, I'm 57 and just started this hobby and not to brag but could buy high end watches, but I choose not to. I love my $50 to 300 watches just as much as someone who loves their Rolex. I invest elsewhere and collect watches for a hobby, not looking for any monetary value in the future. Just enjoying having them and wearing them.

I have to keep my “good” watches on a high shelf so my kids can’t reach them. I keep my G-shock in the window so it gets sunlight for charging, and gets the signal every night to keep the time. My 18-month-old climbs the back of the couch and runs off with the G-Shock, I think an 18-month-old is the ultimate torture test and it has survived so far!

The top has 10 you can see through the glass and there's a drawer below that holds another 10. Often times those locks aren't security locks, they're temper locks. You are exactly correct, the lock won't stop a thief; but it will stop a guest at your house from just subtly stealing a strap. Or keeping a kid out of your watch box, because they might toy with a multy thousand dollar watch, scratch it up, or drop it and break it. The lock is just for preventing people from tampering with the contents

I was planning a humidor before my watch case but I need more storage space. The best part are the screw heads are all perfectly aligned! I have turned all of the wall plates screws in my house to be vertical in line with the switch. Am I obsessed? I don't think so, but I notice these things.

Thanks for the review. This box looks well put together with - what appears to be - good materials, which is so very important. My biggest disappointment is the companies branding on the front and how visually disruptive it is. I would much prefer it to be hidden or as subtle as possible - an invisible emboss would do the trick. To be honest, that makes this a non-starter for me, and ordering "custom" isn't a solution. I think the same thing of Analog/shifts new collab with WOLF, the nice metal box by wornandwound, etc. The clients/brand age-old saying; "can you make the logo 25% bigger" is still very true. I hope brands (young or old) matures thier design sensibilities to a point where they understand that some aspects of visual language can get in the way of an experience and should really only be complimenting/supporting an experience.

Why in the world will I get a beautiful box like that to put in a safe? My entire watch collection is in beautiful watch boxes in my office. I can't wear more than one a day, so I get to enjoy looking at them in the meantime. In my opinion, that is part of the enjoyment, so putting them in a safe is more like holding stocks and bonds and forgetting about them. A watch collection is a passion for most so enjoy the beauty of them whether on your wrist or in your box. I have several watch displays in my office and I just love being around my collection. Now having said that, I don't own high end watches so I do understand for the high end collectors why they can't hold them all in their house for insurance purposes.

Silly question but does the box impart any smells to the watches? The reason I ask is the construction looks very similar (showing those hinges) to a humidor for cigars. Part and parcel of the joys of cigars is the olfactory element. Spanish cedar is the norm but obviously no "smell-o-vision" on KZread so can't really tell.

I have 4 watch boxes and think I may have spent right around $100 over the last 10 years. I have a small safe box at home but for me i just have places that I put my expensive watches that they would not find.

I bought my first black case !2 piece box for all my old watches in February. I then started buying micro brands and bought another 12 piece from Amazon for $30. I then had some oversize watches that didn't fit well and bought a 10 piece box that can fit up to 60mm watches. . I am addicted to buying brands like Phoibos, Zelos, Jack Mason, Vostok, Pagani, Guinqin, Orient, Starking, Diesel, Fossil. Timex,Casio. and I have a Tag Huer, Helbro, Elini Barokas, luis Piccard, and my latest one which is on it's way from Australia is a Panzera pro diver Aquamarine on a mesh. It's been a funn year collecting these different brands , all onsale. Some are limited production and fun to find deals

Yes, I have three of those. The downside is you can't see them without opening the case. I have them labeled. It makes a good case for my vacation trips. Especially if you go on a boat of any kind since their waterproof.

The lock on a watch box is NOT there to prevent it from theft. It is there to stop the lid from inadvertently opening, if the box is dropped, tilted, moved etc. Even if a watch box had a solid lock, and a bullet proof, hammer proof glass cover, it would be easy to steal, due to its small size and weight. It can easily be stolen (provided someone has broken in to your home already) and moved, as it is not anchored down. This gives potential thieves plenty of time to open the box in the comfort of their hideout. The only way to secure the box would be to anchor it down. This is the same principle as for bicycles. If you have an expensive bike, dont bother locking the tires - You need to secure the frame to a fixed, immovable (within reason) point.

I'm just starting out with watches, this would be overkill. Someday, when the collection justifies it, why not? No sense in putting watches in a case like that, that are at just double the price of the case. XD
