Hey Guys! So here it is! My relaxer routine. I forgot to mention in the video that I oils my scalp DAILY leading up to my relaxer day. This provides mild protection from scalp burns and over processing. It’s an essential point for me that I forgot to mention. Thanks for watching. Hope you find it helpful ❤️

@Aurora Sky Hello. I will usually oil my scalp beginning three or so days prior to relaxing. I use Unlay vegan hair oil to moisturize my scalp. I linked all products I mentioned / used in the description box. Thank you for watching 💕

What is your original curl pattern and what is your hair porosity?
Just did my relaxer by myself for the first time and let me tell you, this tutorial is the best! Using my fingers really helped me to achieve great results! And the optimum relaxer didn't burn at all!
This made me feel so less stressed about my own self relaxing process.
I stretch my relaxer. So, I would say about every 6 months and it comes out beautiful every single time. I use Dark & Lovely and I also use my hands to apply the relaxer.💙💙💙
I'm going to be self-relaxing soon. Tired of paying a "professional" for under processed, lackluster results. I'm going to go right in and be confident, not anxious. Thanks for sharing your self-relaxing technique. Also, a side note: your bathroom is a beautiful!

@@IannaYvonne That will be my next relaxer. I was able to go 4 months on this one, so it will be a while before I get to try it.
I’m here to tell you that I purchased the living proof leave in as well and HONEYYYY THIS IS A GAME CHANGER! It’s completely worth the money and I only use 3 pumps for my entire head. Your routine definitely works and I’m still loving my Unlay hair oil too 💕

Your hair looks great. This is the texture I was going for but mine ended up looking texlaxed and that's even after the corrective relaxer. I wanted it to be straighter so I could air dry it and it stays straight as I want to avoid heat as much as possible. Will be coming back to this video for tips 😊
Thanks for the tips. I tried to follow must of them. I’m relaxing my hair Thursday at the salon but I can still apply your tips . I wish I had the olapkex #6. I olaplex 0,3,4,5 and 7. I I bought the unlay oil but I’m not consistent. Your hair length is my goal. I love your channel. Thanks
I finally went with a no lye relaxer and with Optimum thanks to your advice (sensitive scalp). After 8 years of being natural I tried to relax my hair with a lye relaxer(ORS) but it was texlaxed, 4 weeks from then I went with Optimum (20 Feb) and WOW it has been a bliss. I just need to wait for my hair to be dried before putting havy product (old habits die hard)
Your hair is SO Beautiful and Healthy!!!! Also, love your bathroom, so luxurious 💕

I have a “week in my hair Vlog” on my channel. I literally show everything I do from wash to wash ( and even my salon visit hair care tips). hi there. optimum is the best relaxer no doubt. i have been using it since the late 90s then switched to ors and mezanin and back to ors. i want to go back to optimum but was wondering if u ever use the lye form in optimum not the box type and or if it makes a difference and what flat iron do you use?. i am trying to be on this healthy relax hair journey as we speak.
Nice one sis. How often do you retouch your hair, and how often is it advisable to do so.? Thanks.
What oils do you suggest for ppl who can’t use unlay oil bc it has coconut oil and aloe vera 2 drying ingredients that are the devil for my low porosity hair
Love it.. You have very healthy Beautiful hair Thank you for sharing😉

Iam addict for this channel Thanks thanks thanks 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I have a question 🙋♀️ Please so touch up every 8 weeks Should I re apply the relaxer to all my hair every 6 months or just touching up new hair Loving you from Saudi Arabia
@IannaYvonne
2 жыл бұрын
Hello!! Thank you for watching ❤️ so glad you are finding the channel helpful. As for your question, when you touch up only apply the relaxer to your new growth. And yes, every 8-10 weeks ( although I stretch a bit longer) Reach out with any other questions you may have.
Do you do protein treatments? What porosity is your hair? Do you use any gels?
Hi how are you dp you feel there is a difference in lye or no lye relaxers thx
Did you say you base with petroleum jelly OR the base they give you in the box?
Do you find that your hair is weighed down by all the moisturizer and oil you put in it at the end? I ask because I feel like if I even put moisturizer in my hair and then later try to straighten it (hours later, once it’s dry) it still feels too weighed down.
@firdowsjohnson5766
2 жыл бұрын
Usually you aren’t supposed to put in any moisturizers or il before straightening the hair. Maybe a tiny amount of leave in and heat protectant and thats it. After straightening you can moisturize with a light weight oil.
Thank you so much for the your advice Am natural but I want to relax my hair please guide me
What are your thoughts on basing your whole scalp? I know most people base around the perimeter like you did. Does basing you actual scalp affect the relaxer smoothing your roots? Or no because your roots process the fastest anyway due to body heat? Love the video super helpful 💜

Hello. Thank you for watching. I’ve actually had a stylist base my entire scalp and also use Vaseline in my hair when the relaxer was already in 😳 I was in shock trying to figure out what was happening lol. Believe it or not that was the BEST relaxer I’ve ever had. My hair was BONE straight … not burns or post relaxer breakage. If you are going to base the entire scalp of course there’s a chance your hair will be under processed. I wouldn’t recommend this for at home relaxing but I know from personal experience that it CAN be done successfully

@@IannaYvonne Wow! Her going back over with Vaseline didn’t irritate your scalp even more?

@@IannaYvonne wow I am so interested in how she did this. I based my whole scalp last relaxer and I swear my hair didn't relax at all lol. Thank God I've learned proper maintenence of new growth lol.
Will Vaseline help not to have or get chemical burn and what other items for your hair because I have tried all kinds of things for my hair ?
How soon should I wait after taking braids out to relax?? I plan on taking my braids out in March, last time I relaxed was beginning of Jan. 2022.
@IannaYvonne
2 жыл бұрын
Hello!! Yesss🙌🏾 you got the braids!! How do you like the knotless? As for your question I usually wait 2 day after I remove my braids to relax. This is to give my scalp a small rest after the takedown manipulation and prevent burns.

When I use Optimum hair kit my scalp is sensitive and I do get chemical burn what can I use not to have or get chemical burn ?
Used to watch you when I was relaxed . I cut my hair on new years because I bleached it and it broke off (my fault , i know 😩) . can’t wait for my hair to be this long again . Question how long do you think my hair should be before I start relaxing again because it is soo hard to really look after my hair in it’s natural state 😭
Hi !! In your description there’s a link to how you grew your hair in 10 months but the links doesn’t open up. Idk if it’s me or if it’s down ?

I love your videos. I learnt so much. My hair in cornrows and I will relax for first time after years. I will be doing it in next 2 months. I am in UK so it is difficult to get the UNLAY oil. Also if I relax for the first time do I still put the protector on all my hair or just after the second relaxer? Thanks I watch all your videos..
@IannaYvonne

Hello! Thank you for watching and supporting the channel 💕so glad you are finding the content helpful. If you are relaxing for the first time do not put the protectant on the length of your hair. Only base your scalp. The protectant goes over previously relaxed hair to prevent over processing.
Do you flat iron your hair at all or do you stay away from that stuff

Hey love! Do you apply a protein treatment a week before relaxing? Thanks xoxo 😘
@IannaYvonne
2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for watching 💕Yes I do a protein treatment the week before I relax to strengthen the hair as much as possible prior to relaxing.
So do I start a 25 min timer after I finish the last section with relaxer? Or leave it on my head no longer than 25min???
@IannaYvonne
2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thank you for watching. Its 25 minutes total.. from the start of the process. But honestly I mostly go by look and feel. If I feel tingling before 25 minutes I will wash it out at that time to prevent burns. And If I don’t feel my relaxer “ took” and my scalp isn’t burning.. I may keep it on for a few more minutes to allow my hair to continue processing.
