    @@Math_With_Jizu i took your advice and started the first module from question 16 i think it was, and when i tell you i had extra time left i am serious. I LEGIT SPED RAN THROUGH IT. Though i regret not doing the same thing with the second module. I don't know why my mind tricked me into thinking the second module would be easier, actually i know why, cz of practice test 1. Gosh i regret it. But overall, since this is my first sat ever i really tried my best under certain circumstances(i'm an international student as well and studied for it by myself and only started like less than a month ago). So yes i don't have anything to regret except that small slip up. Merci for asking

  • @autumnoakwood

    @autumnoakwood

    23 күн бұрын

    @@-yes-5929 Using the digital SAT's built-in calculator has helped me a lot. Most of the SAT questions that aren't probability/statistics or geometry/trig can be solved using the built-in Desmos calculator. If you haven't already done so, I strongly suggest thoroughly re-acquainting yourself with how the calculator works. Knowing how to graph functions and relations and finding intersection points of curves would save you so much time as you don't have to waste precious time and energy solving math equations and problems by hand. In fact, I'm willing to wager that the math section of the SAT is much more of a compatibility and general problem-solving test than a math aptitude test. Keep this in mind. For example, if the question gives you the equations for a quadratic and a circle and then asks you to find the intersection points, it could be completed in seconds using the built-in GDC instead of spending many minutes solving it by hand. Also, if you are still uncomfortable with math basics, I strongly implore you to watch Khan Academy videos. To be candid, if you struggle with some Module 1 questions, you will struggle much more with the Module 2 questions… Grind ALL the Khan Academy SAT math and SAT question bank questions. If you don't know how to answer a question, watch one of the Khan Academy videos on the concept being tested in that question. Grinding questions is always the most effective way to improve in math, regardless of your math exam (SAT, IB, A-levels, GMAT, etc.). But do more than just the questions. Dedicate a substantial amount of time to understanding the questions you did incorrectly. The mentality is everything. Module 1 would always be super easy, and you probably would have much time left after finishing it. DO NOT let this supposed ease of SAT math ruin your mentality and flow. The first time I did the SAT, I became convinced that the second module would be easy just because the first was (in other words, my ego became vastly inflated during the 1st math module lmao). As a result, I bombed the 2nd module. Prepare yourself mentally for an increase in difficulty in the 2nd module. I'd say that It will be much more helpful to use the extra time in the first module to just rest rather than double and triple-check your module 1 answers. But that is up to you. Finally, don't become let down if you do poorly the first time or the first few times on the SAT. The fantastic thing about this test is that you can retake it multiple times. And with effective improvement, you CAN raise your score substantially. I took the SAT 3 times, and my score progression is 1430 -> 1490 -> 1540 (which I am so proud of). Despite 1430 (with a 710 in English and 720 for maths) being a decent score, I knew I could do better. So don't be disappointed by your current results because you can raise it. In summary: Use the digital SAT built-in Desmos calculator. Most questions needn't be solved by hand, which takes much longer and is much more effortful. - Make sure to hone in on all the basics. Practice, practice, practice. Make sure to take all six of the Bluebook SAT practice tests and Khan Academy SAT questions! - Mentality is everything. Module 2 WOULD be noticeably more complex than Module 1. Prepare yourself mentally for that. Don't become discouraged by your current SAT maths performance level. Your SAT score will definitely increase through focused practice. It took me three times to get to my final score of 1540. I genuinely wish you all the best for your SAT. However, regardless of what you get out of 1600, it doesn't define you as a person! That being said, I hope you attain your desired score!!!🤞🤞🤞💪💪💪

And with effective improvement, you CAN raise your score substantially. I took the SAT 3 times, and my score is 1430 -> 1490 -> 1540 (which I am so proud of). Despite 1430 (with a 710 in English and 720 for maths) being a decent score, I knew I could do better. So don’t be disappointed by your current results because you can raise it. In summary: Use the digital SAT’s built-in Desmos calculator. Most questions needn't be solved by hand, which takes much longer and is much more effortful. - Make sure to hone in on all the basics. Practice, practice, practice. Make sure to take all six of the Bluebook’s SAT practice tests and Khan Academy’s SAT questions! - Mentality is everything. Module 2 WOULD be noticeably more complex than Module 1. Prepare yourself mentally for that. - Don’t become discouraged by your current SAT maths performance level. Your SAT score will definitely increase through focused practice. It took me three times to get to my final score of 1540. I genuinely wish you all the best for your SAT. However, regardless of what you get out of 1600, it doesn’t define you as a person! That being said, I hope you attain your desired score!!!🤞🤞🤞💪💪💪

    @@-yes-5929 Part 1: Using the digital SAT’s built-in calculator has dramatically helped me. Most SAT questions that aren’t probability/statistics or geometry/trig can be solved using the built-in Desmos calculator. If you haven’t already done so, I strongly suggest thoroughly re-acquainting yourself with how the calculator works. Knowing how to graph functions and relations and finding intersection points of curves would save you sooooo much time as you don’t have to waste precious time and energy solving math equations and problems by hand. In fact, I’m willing to wager that the math section of the SAT is much more of a compatibility and general problem-solving test than a math aptitude test. Keep this in mind. For example, if the question gives you a quadratic and a circle and then asks you to find the intersection points, it could be completed in seconds using the built-in GDC instead of spending many minutes solving it by hand. If you don’t know how to answer a question, watch one of the Khan Academy videos on the concept being tested in that question. Grinding questions is always the most effective way to improve maths, regardless of your math exam (SAT, IB, A-levels, GMAT, etc.). But don’t just do the questions. Dedicate a substantial amount of time to understanding the questions you did incorrectly. The mentality is everything. Module 1 is always super easy, and you probably have much time left after finishing it. DO NOT let this supposed ease of SAT math ruin your mentality and flow. The first time I did the SAT, I became convinced that the second module would be easy just because the first was (in other words, my ego became vastly inflated during the 1st math module, lmao). As a result, I kinda bombed the 2nd module. Prepare yourself mentally for an increase in difficulty in the 2nd module. It will be much more helpful to use the extra time you have in the first module to rest rather than double and triple-check your module 1 answers. But that is up to you. There are only 4 DSAT practice tests (plus I already solved one), and I do use the old SAT practice tests but they don't precisely simulate the whole time management thing... I would appreciate the help!

    In some of the easier graph questions, you don't need to read the graph because if 3 choices all disagree with the passage/question, then you can confidently eliminate them, because the answer has to be true according to the graph and the passage /question. If it disagrees with the passage/question it won't be a correct answer even if you see it's true on the graph. However sometimes the choices are just pure data and you have no idea what they represent, in those cases, you should go back and scan the graph. DO NOT READ THE WHOLE GRAPH, these graphs can carry so much info that you don't need, so just focus on the relevant elements, quickly glance at them and then pick a choice that is correct for both the graph AND the passage/question. Most of the time the choices are true on the graph, it's true information, but if the question asks you to support the passage, you cannot pick a choice that is true on the graph but weakens the claim in the passage. You have to pick whatever matches with the passage then verify the information by looking at the graph. Basically, just treat it as a normal textual evidence and keep the graph for the end. This is a general tip for every reading question, be careful of that one word ruining your answer, sometimes a choice will be completely true, but one single word will make it incorrect. For example, I saw a question that asked me to support that amphibians are decreasing. On the graph, all of the rates of decrease for different animals were there. One choice said "Amphibian decrease rate is higher than all of the other animals combined " On the graph, amphibian decrease rate was truly higher than all other animals, but not all of them combined(added up together) This made the whole choice wrong. So you just have to watch out for tricks like that. These are in almost every reading question.
