I cant stress enough the importance of what you do the day before/of your test. You HAVE to get enough sleep, and EAT a healthy breakfast. Make sure to bring water and snacks to the test, you want your physical condition to be the last of your worries while you take the test. This is crucial for state of mind, and you will see your focus and pace increase. Take it from a 1570 scorer (800 math): this WORKS. if you know your concepts and you have prepared your body as much as your mind for the test, you will do well.

One thing you can do on top of the khan practice tests is just look up past official SAT tests and you'll get a list of pdf's of official tests.

I took DEC 2022 SAT and got a 1280 as well... taking one in October, hope I can have as big of a jump as you lmao.

I got 770 on math and when I took another sat after a few months of practice I thought I got everything right but somehow I dropped to 670 💀

the first minute literally describes my EXACT situation. I have a 4.0 gpa, taking full IB with my first semester in my junior year being a 42/42 and my second semester being a 40/42 (i transferred to a new continent right before my senior year and my new school's grading system is numerical on a scale from 1-100 so no 1-7 for IB) whole bunch of extra curriculars, founded/participated in a bunch of clubs, founder of my own magazine, volunteered at a couple of shelters and for different events BUT my SAT highest score was only a 1360 which i'm retaking for the last time in like 3 weeks and have barely studied for so :\

@@bigdog4166 you are right bro. At that time it was my biggest concern but I don't even care about my SAT score now as I missed most of the US colleges deadlines. Life is very weird and random tho. It is very weird that there is no undoubtedly correct way of living it. There are infinitely many ways to live it and I have no idea where will I land on. I achieved many things but sometimes I feel like I should be more happy. I am 18 now and everything happens so fast and I feel like I am not making the most out of my teenager life in terms of pure enjoyment. What I learned from this process is that someone should seek happiness regardless of the time and situation. If you are unhappy now, chances are you will still be after two or three years later. We need to appreciate hardships too.

I guess a month or 3 should be fine. I’ve seen people prep for more than a year which is honestly dumb cause u don’t need that much prep for a “standardized” test.

Are these concepts still applicable with the new DSAT? Also the College board only offers 5 practice tests... Where can I go for more practice tests that are accurate to what the real test will be like? Hopefully someone can answer this.

lol my school just told us were testing in 2 weeks... 1270 total on the free princeton review test, 650 math. fs going to retake after, shooting for a 1400 but i think i can exceed it, I expected my practice to be below a 1200 so im starting off strong.

I am taking the December test. Want to increase my score to 1330 (I got the exact same score twice) from (realistically) 1450 but would really love to hit 1500. I am planning to study an hour a day, so I can apply to Duke, Vanderbilt and Cornell. Got a 5 on Calc AB (geometery needs the most improvement) and 5 on English. Lang and Lit. Have a problem with overcomplicating questions. Any advice?

@@valentinpoggio5389 Hi I got a 1410! The studying thing did not go as well as I hoped but I got a really good book that went over the concepts. Reading is harder to improve but for math I learned some shorthand tricks for questions (such as -b/a being the sum of solutions and c/a being the product of solutions.) If you have time and motivation, cleaning up your math first and then moving to reading strategies may be a good route.

you definitely don't NEED a graphing calculator for the SAT math, it can just help streamline calculations at times if you have one. It may also be a good long-term investment because you can use it for classes in school and college. If money is a problem, perhaps try looking into buying a used ti-84 plus calculator. They're not too expensive ($30-50). But to answer your question, you can totally get an 800 on SAT math without a calculator.

Test in 3 days, sitting at a 1420 right now. 700 math 720 reading. cramming these videos so i hope i can get a last minute score bump but i shouldve prepared better 😭oh well, ill prob take multiple digitals next year

Here's the thing about calculator programs: College Board doesn't have any published policies regarding them. This means they are neither banned nor openly allowed. However, they do allow you to use calculators capable of being programed, so it's in your advantage to use them. At the end of the day, they are definitely not integral to succeeding on the SAT Math, so it's totally up to the student to decide what they want to do.

Unfortunately, with the new all-online test, you can no longer underline important parts of the problem.
