Your average car door ding is perfect for the paintless dent repair method. This way of removing a door ding in a car door is possible with proper paintless dent repair tools when used by a professional PDR Technician.
1⃣ Step 1. We first need to inspect the damage to the car door.
This will help us understand what method will be used for this repair. It will also allow us to calculate the cost of paintless dent repair. (See the link to the Auto Reconditioning App Below)
2⃣ Step 2. Next, we will prepare the panel for the ding repair.
This can include cleaning and buffing the panel so that we can properly see the dent and be able to fix the ding.
We also will often use a special air wedge and a window guard for access through the window opening. (See Links Above for Products)
3⃣ Step 3. We will begin pushing out the door ding in the car door.
Special PDR Tools are used to gently push out the dent from behind the panel. This method is more accurate and when used by a professional, they will know exactly where and how much pressure to use when pushing out a dent.
4⃣ Step 4. Part of the paintless dent repair process involves using special knockdowns and hammers to manipulate the metal from the outside.
Using these tools allows the PDR Tech to properly work with the damage until it is completed.
5⃣ Step 5. Final buffing and polish panel.
Minor buffing and polishing will restore the final quality finish back to the car paint.

I wonder what technique would be used to repair a baseball sized dent on the round front edge of a hood. I cut a small square access hole on the bracing that was blocking the dent. Tried to punch it out but it seems to be making a small dent outward when doing that.
Awesome video! Any places in the DFW area? I have a ding as well. I inquired at the dealership; however, they weren’t much help. Any assistance/guidance on who to utilize would be greatly appreciated!
Awesome work! So Ive heard of people saying to stay away from going in through the window gap because it can ,"shatter your glass"... however I'm not sure how this can happen? Maybe they don't roll the windke down?

There is always a risk with breaking the glass. Especially if it is laminate glass. For most small door dings, going in through the window opening isn’t an issue. Mostly because we won’t be putting pressure on the glass when pushing. I wouldn’t recommend doing it this way if someone doesn’t have the proper training or experience. The risk of further damage would cost them more than having it professionally repaired.

The tool used at 03:39 is it metal to paint? or is that tip some sort of plastic?

Yes but is a special plastic tip that is used.
How are you manipulating the tool? Twisting or prying?

Somebody has opened their door on my car. A little of the paint has been taken off and the dent is across a profile fold in the bodywork as opposed to the dents you are demonstrating in the relatively flat areas. How is this sort of repair done?

@@exceldentremoval I have arranged to get my car into my friend's body shop. It broke my heart to see this damage on my car. I only bought it three months ago. I couldn't believe the carelessness shown by the perp who obviously slyly cleared off and didn't say anything. My friend has said that their "dent man" will get the dent out and it will look as though it never happened, but I guess I will always keep looking at it, knowing it happened. It must be like having your house burgled - you feel violated! As far as the scratch is concerned, he says it will be touched in. I'm hoping that will have the same result as the dent removal, so I can put it behind me. I'm guessing a respray of that area would require a more complex and costly set up. Is it even possible to touch a scratch in and make it look as though nothing has happened? Another possible complication is that when I ordered the car, I asked for it to be "Lifeshined". This is basically the same as Armour Glazing or Scotch Guarding. Would I need to have this redone on this panel?
How much would this cost if I brought this to a body shop?

If the body shop chose to have a Paintless dent repair expert come in/or send it out for this type of repair instead of painting it. Then the cost would be about the same. If the body shop decided to still repair and paint this type of damage, then the costs can vary depending on the type of paint and blending needed. This could possibly be anywhere from $400-$1200.
Wow, that's an art... def not for this DIY'er.
