A book for every mood is really the kind of thing I want to do now! It's really frustrating to stay on the same book when it's not the "right time" and abandon it . Thank you so much!
Designing the environment really helped me read books - I surround myself with people who are into books and have also designed my study table such that it's easier for me to focus! I am now more intrigued to read about the BJ Foff behaviour model, although I have shaped my systems from James Clear's Atomic Habits! Thank you Charlotte!

Yes atomic habits is amazing as well!
this is so beautiful thank you Charlotte.
Good tips Charlotte. you're an inspiration for anyone who wants to become better in any topic!
Hi Charlotte! I thoroughly enjoy your videos :) I find computational neuroscience really interesting and captivating and your book suggestions, podcasts reviews and productivity methods are really enjoyable to pursue! Thank you so much for such good content and wish you all the best!☺️
Thankies Charlotte :) This actually helps me a lot in terms of shifting my priorities on weekly basis lol. Since I’m studying and researching in the field of literature so of course reading is an obligation in my field. However, academic books can be quite challenging hence I usually take 2-3 weeks to finish a book, but I can say that one of many reasons why I take so much time to finish a book is because I’m such a slow imaginative reader and overanalyzing type of person yikess. But I think it’s better to learn how to “enjoy” a book regardless of the level of difficulty:) Also I’m currently trying to expand my range of readings (usually literature, philosophy, cultural studies, and history are my things), but would love to go further into science field.
Thanks for sharing your tips! I recommend reading about the obsidian app location for note taking and building your second brain!
02:55 I remember that book from the days of yore 😆 Theoretical Neuroscience
Just yesterday had this very lecture on Cable Equation 🤩🤩🤩🤩 2:55, I really like your video and the advices that you give are really awesome for designing my studies.
Your videos are so helpful! Definitely gonna pick up 'Tiny Habits'
I'm gonna start my PhD in Education this month. Luckly, I found your channel (already subscribed). Cheers from Ecuador (Guayaquil).
I LOVE Jack Edward's yt channels although he's the reason why my tbr list is neverending now. I also adored Strange the Dreamer and Other Minds was also a great read. So nice to see how much we have in common! Thank you so much for these tips and hope you have a wonderful day 😊

Haha yes he is such a nice person and I love his reviews :D!
Great video Time well spent!!
I like the sound of your hand touching the books. It just motivated me to touch mine.
I LOVE YOU! hahaha this is what I thought after watching your video!!
Thank you 🙏 Dankeschön
Thank you that is helpful
The most important point is 5:35 read books you actually enjoy. I've actually succeeded with making various habits stick using the Tiny Habits approach (meaning I'm able to consistently stick to this habit) such as exercising in the morning etc, but then I stopped doing those habits because they felt stupid and pointless and I realized I didn't actually enjoy them.
very interesting, I will direct my students towards, this, they will find it useful - Professor Egan
Wow, amazing, helps me a lot, I am also from the Radboud, but in BSI
Best channel I have ever seen on KZread ;)
I don't understand you, but I watch your every video, because I like you so much
Thank you for inspiring me to read more...
You are great 👍👍 I also started computational neuroscience being a civil engineer 🤣🤣🤣
thank you
Reading Douglas Hofstader. Highly recommend, Charlotte. Have a good day!

Ah yes my friend got me his book, should start reading it :D!
Thanks
Glad i found your channel
Hi, thank you for sharing your ideas, they are inspiring! Though I, personally, found out that trying to read multiple books simultaneously is keeping me away from reading because it takes one more decision to make: "What do I want to read right now, this one, or that one, or another one?"
Hi Charlotte, Thank you for all the tips..hopefully will be able to pick up my pace on reading more very soon as well! I just finished reading The Calcutta Chromosome by Amitav Ghosh and started on Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.

Deep how are you doing? :D
Thank you for the vedio
Nice topic carry on
Thank you for your secrets.
Thanks for the tips, I am reading a book called " storytelling with data".
Dude, I have the bad habit of reading everything and over-analyzing as I read. When I do this, I look for sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and so on. This ultimately slows down my ability to read books but increases my comprehension like crazy.

I'm curious, how long do you approximately take to finish a book?
I am currently reading 12 rules for life it's quite interesting for me I love practical applications

Good self help psychology book, I read it twice. Also read Beyond Order twice.
I'm reading the name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss, it's an epic fantasy and easy to read. I also started reading man's search for meaning after you suggested it💕

Name of the wind is one of my favourite books! Such a good journey, I'm now on the second book :D, let me know how you like it? 😊
Thanks for the video... I am not a avid reader but reading Art of War by Sun Tzu... Should have finished reading this book in couple of hours but it's taking weeks... 😐 I need to build tiny habits for sure... Planning to do my Phd in computer science later...
you're awesome
interesting i naturally gravitated to this behavior regarding book selection an reading habbits .. reading now " the next 500 years bioengingeering life" by christopher e mason, " what was left of the man" by holstein walter and "annihilation" by Michele houellebeco
I love the action thriller genre and every time I start one, I need max 3 days. But anything else I start, it takes months or years. 😂
I’m reading « The myth of normal » from Dr Gabor Mate and also « Dopamine nation » from Dr Anna Lembke. Thank you very much for you inspiring videos.
I recently "read" (listened to) Behave, by Dr Robert M Sapolsky, I think I need to get the physical one now though. Also The richest man in Babylon and Man's search for meaning.
Thank you so much Charlotte! This really inspired me since I thought read a lot but 1 book per week is really something.... wow.. and now in exam phase its hard for me to read anything anyways.. but I was wondering if you have a book list of the books you found the best / most inspiring? Or where do you get your ideas for books from?
@CharlotteFraza

I think Ill make a list at a certain point, but I really feel that I have not yet read the 'best' books out there, so much to read still o.o!
Great video Charlotte , so far my favourite! I own that book in the back "Range" I bought it in the UK a couple of years ago but I havent read it yet , how did you like it? Currently Im reading: "I am dynamite! : A life of Nietzsche" by Sue Prideaux , "Guns, Germs, and Steel"by Jared Diamond, "Designing your life" by Bill Burnet & Dave Evans. Unfortunately I am not as fast reader as you and your sister are :(
@CharlotteFraza

Range is quite good, it is a bit of a one message book, but still a nice read :D And I am dynamite seems really good, added it to my tbr list!
Hey new here, thanks to the algorithm! And just wanted to suggest if you could do a video on 'How to know if computational neuroscience is for you' I really love studying anything about brain but, there's much more to it as I am a medical student and 'neuro' is a vast field. I like your idea of sharing information so it would be really helpful. Thankyou :)

Anyone has the name of the science book that was shown on the cable equation?
She decribed some of the books as "lyrical". What does that mean in the context of writing style?
I'm currently reading QED by Dr Feynman and The Power of Now audiobook. Thoughts on audiobooks?
How do you take notes for ebooks? I want to take notes while I read but I feel notion, evernote and onenote are too heavy for something like this.
My crush!
Whats the supposed long term benefit of reading books, as opposed to watching videos or articles of similar contents?
I bought my kindle 4 years ago and only 5 MONTHS ago i started really using it! Im reading a book a month now and its not as fast as one per week lol but coming from someone that literally stopped reading for 15 years it is such an achievement! At first i couldnt get used to the kindle but slowly i realized that in reality i just couldnt get used to reading, bc i was too smartphone addicted and couldnt focus for more than 5 mins on anything else that wasnt social media lol last year i got rid of my smartphone and ta-daaa me such a “avid reader” now :p
Would like to see a video on how do you make notes during class or while studying? I find it difficult to make good notes during lectures because whenever I am jotting down the important points in my notes I miss out on points the professor is speaking. Please Please make share your expertise on how to make good lecture notes.

Hey mam can you please give list of all Computational Neuroscience book that you have read
I read a lot when I'm at school or on the road, when I don't have a lot of distractions. But what I find difficult is to read when I'm at home or at my dorm room. I started 3 books: - "Causing death and saving lives" by Jonathan Glover - "The Psychopath Test" by Jon Ronson (I love learning about psychopaths and I'd love to study their brains) - "I am a strange loop" by Douglas R. Hofstadter
@CharlotteFraza

Ow, I started reading the psychopath test, still need to finish it, but such an interesting topic! Love your reading list ^^
brain left the chat after doing computation
Since I know you already read the Alchemist, I really recommend you read Ishmael. Halfway through and loving it!
Thanks for the hints! I'm currently reading these two => Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software and Wired to Create: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Creative Mind
@CharlotteFraza

Wired to Create sounds really interesting :O!
I am reading now 'Greatest Power of Your Mind' by Murphy and I will finish it in just two days. This is very amazing book. You should also read it. Let me know.
Hi, aspiring computational neuroscientist here with a sad number of friends on Goodreads. Would you be willing to share your handle on Goodreads, privately or publicly? I hope it's not too much to ask! I've been reading more the past few months but am mostly surrounded (even in a university environment (TU Berlin)) by people who don't read books :( I love your channel and Radboud Uni is on my wish list for my PhD, after I finish up my second bachelors in Technische Informatik (first in Psychology)). Thanks so much for your channel!!!

Yes, if you send me your account I can add you :D, I usually don't share it cause I read a lot of silly books ;)
I have high motivation but not the ability😌
I am trying to create a habit to read books, because the idea of being a person that doesn't read books makes me feel so bad.
спасибо за видео👍👍
hi I love your taste in books and the videos u make and I wonder if u can share your Goodreads account I would love to follow u there bc I don't have a lot of friends that read and especially in scientific fields
omg is your eye really blue?
I love how pop science has inspired you despite being an expert in computational neuroscience.
Islam is a religion that calls to the worship of God, the One, the One, who has no partner, the King, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and the last of God’s messengers to people after the Messenger Jesus, son of Mary, after the Gospel was distorted. Reckoning and resurrection after death and Islam is the religion of tolerance and it is firmly established in the lands that have been conquered because it came with mercy for people and the light Islam and the Qur’an illuminate the heart and the pleasure of eternal happiness that does not end Islam is the religion of God and whoever does not enter Islam will not enter Paradise. You must read the Qur’an to learn what is in it and ask God for guidance The path of truth, and to know that you were not created in vain
Certainly no children... 😂
