You could ab down the blade whilst it was vertical (that's how they inspect and repair the leading edges), then attach the line, then rotate the blade to horizontal.

It looked like the cable was held to the end of the blade with a kind of sock. It's secure but won't damage the blade.

Vladimir B why not? I mean, if it’s something he feels passionate about, and thinks it might help in some way, what’s wrong with it? He could be talking about secret wars in countries on the other side of the world, or the all consuming greed of massive corporations, but this seems like something a bit more relatable to the average person, and it’s not doing any harm is it?

I often wonder how much sea level rise, how much increased storm activity, how much global average temperature increase, and how many more "unusual weather events" it will take for people to admit we are driving climate change? The good news is we can keep working toward a better tomorrow with or without their help.

I see a lot of the climate change deniers are like the flat earthers…..no amount of evidence will enough to change their minds. In the meantime the rest of us can look to the opportunities of developing new industries with an orderly transition to zero emissions.

I think someone walks out while being tethered to the "home" end of the blade. It's less safe but they are still tethered.

My guess would be to have the blade straight down to begin with. Abseil down and attach slings to create the end anchor, then ascend back up and rotate the blade to horizontal. Otherwise; walking out with a long strap encircling the blade, that can be shortened as the blade narrows. This can be attached to a rope fed out from the portal to allow recovery if the climber slips.

Fantastic! A brilliant way to promote windpower.
