    Thank you so much for teaching how to do these you make and produce beautiful realistic art. I also like how you remind me of Marty Stouffard and Wild America 🙌❤ I like how you have respect for all the wild life. I was once afraid of snakes then I ended up with 11 ball pythons and a reticulated python. They're not evil or horrible things, they're just miss understood. Thank you, Mike. I might have to make a custom request walking stick or make one of my first ball pythons her name was Rosie she was nice and sweet and never was mean.

    What a clever idea to turn a square post into a round one!!! Cedar sure does smell good, too. I need to start paying more attention to videos; I have a feeling I am missing some, and I sure don't want to do that. I never want to miss any video you put out. I hope you are staying well, carving and fishing and keeping Pearl out of trouble :-) I'm starting to get back into trouble now that it has been awhile since my sweet kitty (14 years old; her health failed abruptly) got called over the bridge. I plan to do a sketch of her--I miss her terribly. I hate to tell you what she would have done to any of your snake sticks....or maybe just wood anything. She had the sharpest claws of any kitty I ever had, and thought snakes were mortal enemies. Yours would have stood still long enough for her to, erm, harm your masterful carving. (Pearl *might* have startled her. I think they would have been friends once thy stopped trying to terrify each other.) I plan to get your book next month, and I can't wait!!! You take care, Mike, and God bless you and keep you safe.

    It's good to hear from you, Jean! Yes, I enjoy working with cedar because of the scent of it. It carves nice too. I'm sorry you lost your kitty. Pets become a part of the family, and are missed when they go. I hope you enjoy the book, and that the info will be helpful to you! Take care, and God bless you too! See you on the next one!

    Hey Mike, followed you for a few years now on my other account. Love your work (and pearl obviously) I set this one up to share my wildlife footage. Would you like to do a kingfisher walking stick or even a wood sculpture of one on it's hunting perch like in my Rags to Fishes video in the 2nd half? I think kingfishers have an eye for the aesthetic too, from the places they pick to hunt from. I haven't gotten around to using those wild rose stems yet, but I've been busy as you can see. Take it easy. Much respect from the UK.

    I think a King Fisher would be a great subject! I watched your video, and you capture some great clips! It's great that you anticipated that he would dive, and zoomed out just in time to capture it, and he flew back to his perch with his catch! Great job!

    A Mike could you tell me what gauge , type or brand wire you use on your binding post wood burner ? I have a Burn Master Hawk & I use the Razertip binding post pen .

  • @StinnettSticks

    @StinnettSticks

    Жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure what gauge the wires are Ken, but the wires I'm using now are .9mm. You could use a pretty large wire diameter with the Burnmaster unit, but I'm not sure how much heat the BPH pen can handle. The original wires that came with Razertip snake scales and the BPH pen were in my opinion too small at .7mm. (They bend too easy.) Razertip is now making scale tips with the heavier wire. I'm pretty sure you can get the heavier wired tips from Treeline. There is a link in the description.

    The very first power tool is a miter chop saw that I used to cut off the post to length. Then I used a Dewalt cordless circle saw to cut the 45 degree bevel down the length of the post. Then I used a makita power plane to clean the post up, and cut the final bevels. I have links for the tools in the description under the video
