How I preflight a CIRRUS SR20 G6

#Cirrus #SR20 #PreflightThis is how I preflight the SR20 before heading out for what I thought would be a quick VFR flight.
Not all checks and other actions were filmed. A checklist was also used although it was not highlighted in this video.
*Please do not substitute any actions in this video for a thorough preflight check of your Cirrus or any other aircraft. Consult your Pilot's Operating Handbook for that information.*

    That’s something that me and my flight instructor never do is check if lights are functional. Will definitely do that from now on.

    Nice to see the hammer is secure. Never can tell when you're gonna need to fix something.

    I really like this video, especially since I see Cirrus aircraft on the field all the time. I've definitely been curious about them, but I think I'm going to wait until I get my license before I dip my toe into that Cirrus life! ✈️✈️✈️

    I would recommend that for sure. I did both my private and instrument training in the Skyhawk but after 155 hours in one, I was burnt out on it. I knew that for time building, I wanted something with a little more push so I stepped up to the Cirrus and I have no regrets! The SR22 is the real deal but if you're doing short hops or staying locally, the SR20 is fine. Looking forward to seeing your video where you announce that you passed the checkride and you are certified to fly the friendly skies!

    So the quart of oil it needed, was that because it burns oil? Or it leaked?

  • @fartherfasterhigher6157

    @fartherfasterhigher6157

    Yeah, just regular consumption. The plane is used a lot so it's fairly common to have to add a quart occasionally.

    On another channel. The pilot was doing his pre-trip inspection. He found a bullet hole on the top of the airplane. Someone had shot a gun off into the air and the bullet came down and hit his airplane. It cost him a a couple thousand to fix the hole.

    I know, it seems like I skipped over that. Actually, with the G6, the landing light is in the wingtip along with the strobes and nav and I did check both sets of lights. Thanks for watching!

    @@fartherfasterhigher6157 which is weird cause the SR22 G6 also has the cowling landing light…wonder why that isn’t consistent across the sr g6 line

    That's a good point. There is a landing light in lower cowling but not on the 20s. Not sure why that is though.
