    It always amazes me how these crumbs really come to life after trimming into a block. I love crumbing - anything goes! Thanks, Lori; your crumb series has been fun to watch.

    My very first crumb quilt was for our granddaughters high school graduation! I was addicted to this form of creating! I’ve mad reversible table runners foe our daughters, so 2024 will be more crumb quilts for shelters in our city.

    I love making crumb blocks. Already have made 3 full size quilts out of 3.5” crumb blocks. After each project I finish I make crumb blocks out of those scraps then when I put the crumb block together I group each ‘quilt’ project together. It’s so addictive. I just wish I didn’t have so many scraps. My pile never seems to diminish.

    I love the idea of alternating crumb blocks with a monochrome 4-patch or a simpler block. I have a lot of stash that I can use to do that❣️ Great video, Lori.

    Toni, I do find when I'm teaching things go so much slower... when I'm creating crumb blocks on my own time, they go together SEW quickly! Thanks so much for watching!

    So far I have used crumb blocks to make pet blankets. An old sheet makes great backing. I start with little pieces like you do. Chain piecing as much as possible makes the whole process go quicker.

    Great instructions. Easy to follow. Beautiful to look at. Love working to a block size instead of making large amounts of crumbs and then cutting into blocks. I always end up with scraps that I can’t use.

    Can you tell me where to find the instruction on how to remove a fold in a block. I have looked several places and don’t find it. TY

  • @quiltingwithlori

    @quiltingwithlori

    Hi, Connie! When you say you have a fold in your block, is the block already sewn into the quilt? The info that I share in my video is for a crumb block that has not yet been sewn into a block... I demo how to simply slice the block near the "fold" and remove that folded piece, then sew the crumb pieces back together & presto... no more fold! Because it is a Crumb Block, you can simply cut away any irregularities that you don't like and resew the crumbs back together! If your block is already sewn together in the quilt, then the only option that I would be aware of is to remove the block, fix the fold or any irregularities, and then resew the block back into the quilt. Please let me know if this info helps you! Thanks so much for watching my video's, Connie! Lori

    @@quiltingwithlori you mentioned that you were going to put in the drop down where we could go to fix an area that had a fold. I understand now what you are saying. I am enjoying catching up on many of your videos. Your explaining as you go is very helpful.TY

    How much thread does it use to make a crumb quilt!

  • @quiltingwithlori

    @quiltingwithlori

    I really have no idea! But, it does take a lot!! One thing to keep in mind, because you’re sewing a variety of different color fabrics in a crumb block, you can absolutely use a variety of thread colors. It’s a good way to use up thread!! 🧵
