I don’t know if I’m the only one , but as someone who is learning, the drawing that you did and the spots are more important to me than the actual painting process which I’ve seen you do before. Thank you for sharing your work with us.❤️

You are not the only one who hates doing spots. When Disney was making the 101 dalmations movie the illustrators came close to revolting because of having to do so many spots. I just love your paintings. Great job!

I like to think of spots as very short stripes, and I love drawing stripes, I think it helps! (I work mostly in coloured pencil, that might make a difference too!)

Hi Daniel. Just curious, did you use reference photos for the background? Or did you just get creative and try out different ideas on the test picture you painted before. Looks awesome!!🎉❤

It was just creative! I did a bit of research looking at some jungle plants before the practice piece though, then used what I learned to help with the big one! 😁

Do you use a flow enhancer to get the thinness on your leaves, so the binder isn’t broken.

Not really just water, I’ve never had a problem just using water before. I actually did some research about it and created a video about the mediums to use with acrylics. I’ve been experimenting using GAC 100 mixed with water but I find it makes the thin washes of paint more opaque which makes it more difficult for my process, I like very thin, very transparent layers which can only be achieved using water (with the other mediums I’ve tried at least) . I do also sometimes use an acrylic retarder to stop my paints drying out on the palette as quickly so that I can keep my paints wet for weeks. This doesn’t really have much of an effect on the paint on the canvas though which is good. I’ve done a few different videos talking about the different mediums that I use, hope that helps! 😁

A big fan of your work. So much so, that I'm mostly a charcoal/graphite artist but now want to branch out, painting realistic acrylic animals. Would you advise where you got the glass palette you're using? A big thanks, in advance. 😃

Thanks, I’m not really sure it’s just a big piece of tempered glass, it’s not actually a glass palette. My dad brought it home for me about 7 or 8 years ago
