All good advice. For my first year I used a single fairly cheap camera and mic. Over time I bought better equipment but that money will never be recouped. It’s funny how both our cameras played up when we were together 🤷🏻‍♂️ Good job, Bullet 👍🏼

Thank you Brendon, very helpful. I'm the guy from Australia that named his iron barren Bullet Daisy Apple after your fine steed. I have changed my handle as I recently moved to Tasmania. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that your video of the Church ruins and the castle you can stay in has inspired me and my partner to visit Ireland and the Netherlands this winter. I'll send you a message when we're in Ireland and perhaps meet up for a coffee? all the best, Gordon AKA Felix 😁

Finally, the master shares his craft skills! I've been thinking about motoblogging, not sure if I have anything wondrous and charming to share but I'm thinking about routes and points of interest to point out. Maybe more time to put into it after I retire in a couple years. We'll see once I get Oddball back on the road here....soon! Made it into the 60's today. I'm not sure about GoPro as the others are seriously making inroads into the action cam arena with some quality products at reasonable price points.

@@BulletWanderer very helpful indeed, especially the microphone. For the chin connector you now have - when you say its stuck on, is this just with one of those 3M sticky pads you get with the mounts? Having fun with the DJI at the moment - Messed around with some angles, as you can with the action cams - hopefully have the next video coming out Sunday (Sadly house renovations have been a distraction) . You should set up one of these ' Buy me a coffee' sites :D Drone 'aka' safety vie ;) fund. Was that also a little RE animation film going on at the end in the credit screen? :D

Your vid's are entertaining and educational..... A buddy has the Go Pro and other cameras... bike and helmet attached.. also a small drone that follows him and adds stunning aerials to the resentation,,,,, I think under a $100.oo but they require a license and restrictions .... So, keep up the great vids... if you're ever in Minnesota..... coffee and scone on me.

Cheers Mike! I think over here you don’t need a licence for a drone , but there is a map you need to check to see if it’s okay to fly them in certain areas 👍 I’d be delighted to take you up on that some day! Maybe Daisy and myself will tour the States 😎

Rob Little has been having a good old rant at his GoPro, and others seem to be going for the DJI Osmo Action 4. A budget approach that works well in my opinion, is Panther Owners Club's videos. He seems to have a budget action camera set up - at least image stabilisation is fairly primitive - but voice overs wonderfully poetic eulogies in the edit. Anyway, good to see the kit you film on, and like most things you can throw money at it in ways the viewer will barely notice.

Have to agree with you there all round! From a glance, the DJI Osmo Action 4 seems to have an excellent package deal with 2 batteries, an extension rod, and a charging case! If I was starting from scratch I probably would go with that, much better bang for your buck! Hadn't seen Panther Owners Club's videos before, but just checked em there, something to be said for the poetic eulogies and video format, very charming. It comes back to that whole thing that people will forgive poor video quality (not saying that his are, they seem to be wonderfully shot, primitive image stabilisation and all), but as long as you have decent audio and something to say, people are happy enough! Thanks for the inadvertent channel recommendation, subscribed to him 😂.

@@BulletWanderer Yeah, I think the best vlogs have the personality of the rider come through, and people aren't too bothered about 4k and flawless horizons. Of course you could go full Itchy Boots, with cameras fore, aft, at various points on your body and a drone for company, but where's the fun in that?

I just got the GoPro Hero 12. I don't thing it's as good as using the Galaxy S23 Ultra in my jacket pocket that I used for the first year. The GoPro battery time is terrible. It gets very hot. It's endless extra expense, more bits and pieces to carry that will get forgotten, broken or stolen on a trip. The audio is pretty poor, the noise reduction cuts some wind noise, but also engine noise. It is good at 4K in landscape ratio for long videos, but I use 1:1 for making shorts more that raw footage videos. Editing software on GoPro is alright, but limited.

  • @BulletWanderer

Haven’t used the Hero 12 myself , but I do agree, going forward if I was to get a new action camera , I’d probably go for a different brand ! The battery time is inexcusable given how much money they cost. Generally I stay away from the built in editing software , I find it too finicky to really get what I want out of it, prefer to take the clips into something like DaVinci Resolve where I have a lot more freedom 😅

  • @MrMomo182

Battery time isn't fit for purpose, imo. If my S23 Ultra can record 4K for 2 hrs without getting hot and still have 60% charge, what's wrong with GP? Bearly gets 35 mins at 4K. I suspect they're a rubbish battery company that has a good camera, you have to buy their rubbish battery to run it. Oh well. $1000 down, but I'm getting used to it. The video quality is good. I get just a few more views that I did before. It's a learning process. Ta, Bullet Wanderer.
