HOW I MOISTURIZE AND SEAL MY RELAXED HAIR - UPDATED | RELAXED

My moisturizing and sealing routine for Healthier Relaxed Hair!
Hey girl, thank you for tuning in! In this video I share with you how to moisturize and seal relaxed hair - effectively and efficiently!! I show you my personal moisturizing and sealing regimen including the products that truly moisturize, soften and prevent breakage in relaxed hair. Since my last moisturize and seal video, I’ve changed a couple things i.e. the way I section my hair and my moisturizer! I’m using As I Am So Much Moisture Hair Lotion to moisturize and Jojoba oil to seal. These two together are excellent for dry relaxed hair. It’s been in my hair regimen for over a year and it’s quickly become a staple moisturizer.
So today, I’m sharing with you why and how I moisturize and seal, the benefits for relaxed hair and the difference I’ve noticed in my hair ever since I incorporated this two step process in my hair care routine. Relaxed hair requires moisture. In order to retain length and grow relaxed hair long, moisture is important. Length retention starts with moisturizing and sealing to prevent dryness and breakage. My relaxed hair loves it and I hope this video is useful to anyone who is looking to increase hydration in their relaxed hair.
As always, thanks for watching! Oh, and don't forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE :)
xoxo

Even though I am natural I like watching your videos. I just subscribed to your channel. Your hair is beautiful. I think if we had good information back in days when I was relaxing my hair, my hair might have been healthier. It’s nice to see the women in the relaxer community using methods to moisturizer their hair. I feel like the natural and relaxer community have the same goals: healthy hair. We can learn a lot from each other 😊

It’s never too late for a blessing. I just discovered your channel last week and it was shared with me by my daughter. I’ve always had shoulderlength relaxed hair; however, the problem for me has been excessive dryness and shedding which in turn makes my hair thin. So when I saw your gorgeous and healthy hair I knew you were the right person to follow on this journey. I was familiar with the process of moisturizing and sealing of the hair since my daughter is natural and she does it all the time, I just never thought it was something I could do on my relaxed hair plus I didn’t know what products to use. I’ve tried it and my hair feels amazing. So I have said all that to say this: Thank you so much for sharing such valuable content. 🙏🏽 Thanks again and God bless!!!

I was Natural for 3 yrs and went back to Relaxing for 2 yrs now. If you don't moisturize and seal relaxed hair especialy the ends then you will not retain length. With Natural hair moisturizing is impotant in the detangling process or you will not be able to comb through the hair. I love 😍 that this Channel showcases how healthy relaxed hair can be with proper care 👏🏾

So I switched from ORS moisturising lotion to As I am So Much Moisture after watching your videos. The consistency is definitely a lot thinner. However As I Am is super moisturising for my hair! My hair feels so soft and hydrated!! I don’t seal with oil though because I find oil weighs down my fine hair too much. I use oil for my tri weekly scalp massages and my weekly prepoos instead 😊

You can find an oil that doesn't weigh hair down. You use it thru the mid section to ends. Will make your hair feel like silk and a pea size amount will usually do.

I just squirt it on my new growth twice a week and when I take down my hair for a weekly wash, it is soo much easier to detangle and it rarely mattes up, which is a common problem for ppl with texlaxed hair have. The Hawaiian silky 14 in 1 is low key underrated too!

Do you still recommend s curl activator? I bought it from when you talked about it I think a year ago. I don't wear my hair out in styles right now at all, so I use the activator, castor oil as the seal and the Lemongrass butter and then wear corn rows under wraps and wigs. I love weighed down braided hair for now lol

I tried the s curl activator but I found that the product left too much build up in my hair which left my hair feeling sticky. 😕 I didn’t want the big bottle to go to waste though so I use it to soften my regrowth just before I comb and detangle it on my wash days instead. In my opinion, As I Am So Much Moisture is so much better!

I'm new to your channel and I'm considering getting a relaxer because I have breakage due to single stand knots and am tired of wearing my hair in a bun. You mentioned that you rarely wear your hair down. Why is that and would you say it's an important factor? Also, do you prefer light leave ins and oils over creams? I was thinking that with proper care of relaxed hair, I could wear my hair down more. So tired of wearing it in a bun! Thanks for all of the info!!

You hair looks great. 😊 Thank you for your content - It’s encouraging to see relaxed hair getting some attention and luv just like the natural hair wearers. A question I have for you is: during your moisturizing & sealing routine, do you also “grease” your scalp?? What treatments do you find help keep your scalp moist? I find that my scalp is desert dry most times so I began using castor oil and rosemary oil (mixed together) on my scalp which is helpful but I’ve never heard of this process of moisturizing & sealing. Do you also use a water based moisturizer on ur scalp too? Thanks 😊

Hi Fatima! I don’t grease my scalp. But I do apply either JBCO or Atarah scalp and hair treatment to my scalp (in sections) on wash day. If I’m doing the castor oil challenge, then my applications will increase but right now it’s just 1-2x/wk. I’m surprised you’ve never heard the term moisturizing and sealing. This is important for the health of your ends. The only time I apply a moisturizer to my scalp area is when I’m stretching my relaxer and I apply Scurl to my new growth to help soften it and keep it manageable.

  • @pamylasworld

    @pamylasworld

    4 жыл бұрын

Hey i used to wear my natural hair straightened too before i big chopped. With moisturizers (and most natural hair products honestly) water is going to be a top ingredient so it'll pretty much always revert to an extent. I would recommend oils for your scalp and a bit on the strands and ends to keep it moisturized. And keep up with getting trims! That'll help it grow and remain healthy. Hope this helps

@@HairliciousInc it happened over time. I was consistently getting my hair braided so I stopped getting relaxers and it led to me going natural over time but this is not the way. At least for me it isn't. 😂 My hair is in the worse state it has ever been. I've been natural for around 3 years now and I am done. I plan on relaxing and working my way back to healthy hair by wearing wigs (the one with combs because I can't do lace). My edges are the ones that have truly suffered. I hate detangling so I just end up literally ripping through my hair every wash day. We just don't have a good relationship, me and this natural hair.
