Very impressive! I’ve never seen anyone grind the way you are doing it with your fingertips on the back of the platen for more control … I find that very interesting.. from time to time I too use the back side of my platen on my OBM grinder for bracing with my fingers .., your work is spot on and really nice 👍🏼.. Thank you for making these videos as they are very helpful . . You have a really good eye for the art of making pocket knives ! Great job !

Ya it really helps my control when getting the bevel initiated...tho after the bevel is set I only need to brace with the one hand....thank u very much 👍

You're at one with that belt grinder! Great to see the sharpening clearance, i hate a bolster? that straight joins into the cutting edge...

Good looking bevels Dwight! That was a good tip about following the backside of the sharpening notch. I'm guessing you don't do and grinding pre heat treatment to reduce warping?. Have you ever done hollow grinding?, I want to try it myself one of these days when I get the right setup. Loving the series!

Thank u 👍 Ya to help prevent warping is one reason but the main reason is I want to do all my grinding steps and be done....since I'm grinding in my swedges first then thinning the ricaso before I start grinding the bevels I would be setting myself up for failure trying to do all that before heat treat...my method of operations is a bit different than traditional ones lol

Thanks 👍 no I'm dipping the blade in water to keep from getting to hot... don't want to blister my fingers trying to hold it lol
