How I made this Dragonox and engraved titanium scales

I really enjoyed this project. The Xtool D1 Pro is capable of so much, and I still have several more ideas for it. What do you think about how the scales turned out?

    That's gotta be the best tool set yet for my money, although I do love an inline awl. And what a useful tool that lazer etcher is If I owned one I'd probably be out of control etching just about everything that I own that isn't bolted down. That topographical contour pattern is perfectly suited to a Swiss Army knife. You're making heir loom quality stuff right there that people are going to cherish for a life time and that will make cherished keepsakes for their loved ones.

I'm going to order a Spidee blade 91mm from you when I can figure out my dream Fit To Survive knife from the great stuff on your website. It'll be simple. Like an Electrician style (non Alox, of course) with the Electrician blade, scissors and the Spidee main blade and titnium scales. I'm drooling and haven't even figured it out yet. Hahahahaha! Thanks for entertaining this old knife maker. And I get it...I'll suffer the wait...One time when, "worth the wait" really will be true. I'll contact you soon.

    Fantastic build! Those scales came out beautifully!! A couple questions, what dilution do you use on your acid? On you liners, do you ever get any flex on them, like sometimes on the outside layers I will get some bowing in or out, I can’t figure out what’s causing it, idk if I over pinned it, or under pinned it, I don’t have any play in my holes. Just wanted to see if you ever ran across that. Thanks for a great video and any help, keep Up the great work! Love the build videos! Keep them coming!

  • @FittoSurvive

    Thanks, I appreciate it. I generally do a 1:3 ratio if the F3Cl3 is dehydrated. Your liners will bow if the G10 is thinner than 1mm or if you have drilled your holes improperly. Hopefully that helps.

    Lovely work as always, man. Whenever I put the bottle opener on a blade backspring I have to slightly round off the inside corner - otherwise it's a nail-breaker to open! But yours looked very easy. On another video you showed a corkscrew on a scissor backspring: I'd love to know how you modified the scissor spring to manage that. Did you bend the spring? And if so, does the scissor still seat OK? Thanks

  • @FittoSurvive

    @FittoSurvive

    What reason use g10 liners? It’s thinner? Lighter?

  • @FittoSurvive

    @FittoSurvive

    The G10 has several advantages over the original aluminum liners. The aluminum is prone to oxidation and corrosion, the aluminum can get bent, and it is not a very hard material. The G10 will not oxidize or corrode, it keeps it's original shape, and it is a very hard composite material compared to aluminum. It's not any lighter and I use the same thickness of G10 as the original liners.
