That spiral road going up and down the mountain is used in Italy around thier border with Switzerland. Keeps the traffic flowing better than a zig zag road.

Why a zig zag? Here in Canada, the roads climb straight up the mountains, Steeply. They have sometime emergency pits at the base, if trucks burn their breaks. Yes, those climbs scare some people, but it is straight and fast! They dynamite everything here anyway. I am talking about that, I will let you judge this, but 40 people died in a bus accident there in 1997, that's the reason why, there is a retaining wall at the end. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ho2krqN9ory7ico.html

@@sammexp traffic flow. Going straight up the mountain the road will be more curved and result in a slower speed overall. When you have the gradual curve trucks can maintain speed better and not clog a narrow road. It's usually only done in high truck traffic areas.

The tunnel under the shipping lanes is my favorite part of this map, it's just so cool and unique!

Tunnels like this exist in real life, for example in Saint Petersburg

Wow, watching the whole map again and revisiting the very start, it makes you realize that we have been on this journey for quite a while now!!! It's cool how your creation doesn't just become something personal to you but also to all of us who follow this! If I make my own creation like this, even if I could make something so good looking, it would still just be something for myself. It is so much more meaningful how you are sharing this experience!

It's really interesting seeing an overview of the map, and seeing things again that you built ages ago and how they fit into everything new around them. The road infrastructure in this is also quite amazing. The game runs surprisingly well for you, with a population of over 100'000

That island at the end has got to be a part of some border/maritime claim issue since it's at the entrance of the bay. Maybe you could devise a trading / military arrangement scenario for it? Or put an outpost and say nobody's allowed to build there until some agreements are reached :p

I think this area would have some vineyards, olive plantations or tree-nut farms. Maybe some sheep or goats grazing in the hills. There might be an interesting narrative about how some coffee farmers have switched to growing khat; traditional but illegal in two countries and smuggled in from the third.

It’s amazing seeing how far this has gotten to since the first episode. This is definitely a massive change from Samivostok. Also, I noticed there’s a small lake near the new highway across the desert. Would you consider building a small oasis village? Liwa and Al Ain are inland towns in the UAE with hilly terrains for reference

Honestly, that pointless roundabout doesn't seem that weird. I mean, if Uruguay has that pointless roundabout bridge over the Garzón Lagoon, this one seems fairly tame and much cheaper in comparison.

Hello, I play CS on console for I think one year now. I am struggling with the traffic, as you can't use the Traffic manager mod and it is tricky to use traffic lights, without getting troubles. Can u show for example how to build more complex highway interchanges and how you can change an junction into an roundabout or something, without risrupting the algorithm (pattern and housing bloks) from the surrounding area. The problem is that I get problems form around 15 000 citizens, and when I want to solve the problem, I don't get it nice or I keep changing to fit it in nicely in the certain situation/available space and eventually you destroy everything and build a new city or destroy all buildings and build a part of the road network from the scratch.

This highway network does look really nice for the most part, my complements for that, it is a nice build map/city.

You need add road signs to the highway it will add more realism to the roads.

Heavy outside traffic. Just make sure to set the traffic to medium or high and to turn off collision sense in its settings.

If you really care about the whole border crossing look, aren't there single-road toll assets? That way, you could put the tolls in the spots where you really want them to be. Or not, I know you've already put a lot of effort into those crossings and if you don't want to mess with them further, I fully understand.

@@siegfried2k4 How would it do that? I have TMPE and never heard/ seen of it increase traffic. It makes the traffic AI more realistic but I don't think it increases the amount of traffic.

Wish that was possible tbh, where you start the map as either LHD or RHD, but are able to have a switch over, be useful for making multiple countries e.g. Hong Kong and Mainland China - both drive on different sides of the road
