    @@ChrisRaydog overall yes, but nothing spectacular. I thought I've got the hang of it a year ago, especially when I combined AI drafting with professional artists rework of those drafts, but no. I still have no sure way of good launching for coloring books. just started short videos for marketing - maybe it'll help.

    @@ChrisRaydog I'd correct myself - not only short video but off-Amazon methods of marketing in general. cause I can make a good-enough coloring book and even get in on the first page for its main keywords for some time but I can't get it to sell consistently and make profit. when I cut off the ads, it dies away

    I'm new to your channel and watching your videos I'm learning alot. A big thank you to you for explaining in such an easy and clear way. Also I have a request...I would appreciate it alot if you make a specific video on how to make great book covers for coloring book. I suck in making covers. So it would help me alot. You can show 10 sample covers for explanation from your old work or you could also explain atleast 20 book covers from amazon telling the reason behind its excellency. Whatever you feel more OK with it. ^_^

    Grerat video as always! The approach to coloring books is exactly the same as researching for fiction novels as well. You need to find the right genre (or sub-genre), and then you need to see what the expectations are within that, then go above that and research the tropes and see if there's any spins you can do on those existing tropes in order to stand out.

    Hi, Chris! Thank you for this amazing video! I have a question: where do you get content for coloring books such as the one shown in the Scenery Cover? Do you collaborate with freelancers from Fiverr or Upwork, or did you get it from your friend's Huw vault? Thank you once again!

    I don't know why, but I uploaded a book last year before Christmas, but even with the right keywords, it does not show 😩. It's not a coloring book, it's a story in verse book...and i do believe the content is unique as i did not find this subject online. I am super annoyed because i really had high hopes for it. Unfortunately i don't have any funds to promote it. The same goes for my other books. I did work a lot on the covers, the research and so on, but...nothing. No result whatsoever. And yes it frustrates me because i looked at the competition, and mine is way better. For example i did an alphabet tracing book, and created unique 4 verses poems for each letter... Nothing. Meanwhile i see absolute crappy books, black and white, completely boooooring, with horrible illustrations, selling like crazy...i mean wtf??

    Chris, after spending hours watching videos on KDP I cant believe im just finding you now! Wondering if you could offer some advice, i currently have around 35 colouring books on amazon and had about 100 sales over these books without ads, im struggling to bring in constant sales each month, with some months having as few as 3 sales. Would putting money into advertising change this in your opinion? Or is it better to run ads on future books and leave the ones I already have alone?

    I was doing a little inspiring research all I saw was a lot of books that I couldn't tell one author from the other. There was no branding, they all look like they went to the same person to create their books. When I clicked on their profile, a lot of them only had one or two books.

    @@ChrisRaydog Thanks :-) Am trying to hone down what I need to know to get started. Have set up accounts, signed up to book bolt (though not sure if that is best one or not for creation), to use AI or not, how to start with low expenditure when getting started, trying to get a feel for topics/ideas, keywords (only learnt about this after watching one of your vids), ads (again never knew about those until one of your vids!) - basically everything! So thought I'd ask which is best ones to look at initially, though this one looks like it may potentially tick those initial boxes? I have the tenacity to see this through and aren't afraid of hard work to see it through. Thanks in advance as I think I'm going to learn a lot from you.

    Hi Chris, If you find a second I'd have a question, in April you sold 3392 units and you mentioned that you currently have about 31 coloring books. I remember in another video you said that one of your coloring books has a BSR of less than 1k and sells about 200 pieces per day which should give a much higher result. With that said, here it comes out to about 113 units per day of everything. Would you reveal how many units a day come out of the product with the lowest BSR?

  • @ChrisRaydog

    @ChrisRaydog

    3 ай бұрын

    That one I think would have been around 1k during q4 and isn't near that number now, I think that one is maybe around 50 a day ATM but q4 will be bigger for that book and the new ones , hopefully

  • @progression5889

    @@ChrisRaydog Thank you, I'm asking because I'm wondering if I overestimate how many can be sold at a given BSR ;) My best result was 1100 BSR and it came out then I think about 75 units in a day (September), on the other hand in October at 5000 BSR I had 80 units so I guess it also depends what month for a given BSR different sales fall out.

    I think I can tell exactly why people are not buying the faerie coloring books with the illustrated covers. It's not because the covers are AI created, but because they do NOT represent an actual coloring page as the user would see inside the book, and nice, simple, high-contrast line art that anyone could easily color in using color pencils, markers or some other traditional method. So those covers are a big turn-off to those people who want to color in a traditional style coloring book, and a potential red-flag to the type of pages on the inside. Which proves to be true\ by lack of sales. The cover is NOT LINE ART, as one would expect to find in a traditional coloring book, it is a painting. The insides of those faerie coloring books are also NOT traditional line art. The coloring pages are grayscale drawings, similar to pencil drawings. They do not have the high-contrast black line artwork that is all the same thickness that users find easy to color in. There is just not enough contrast in the artwork, no outlines to easily color in, and most people overall just do not like the look or the difficult method of coloring-in a fully rendered pencil drawing (aka "shading"). Overall, those just look too fussy and laborious to color in. People want nice, simple graphic design, with solid line art that has consistent line width throughout. The book as a whole should also look like it was done by one person, and not have inconsistent styles of art even if it all the same theme.
